The vibe here was pretty chill. I came for a gloss and blowout and let me say, the students do really great blowouts here. There are instructors guiding the students along the way. If you are wanting to get your hair, nails, or facial done but on a budget, cosmo schools are great for that. The students really get a lot of hands on experience here. read more

I didn't know that this place existed. I popped in here because I had just dropped off my mother st the mall and she had been pestering me to get a haircut, so I walked in here in a pinch. I requested to come as a walk in, and to my delight, they were able to accommodate me. This is a student salon of sorts, along the lines of what the Paul Mitchell School is. I had to sign a waiver before getting a cut, just like the one you sign before getting a cut at the Paul Mitchell School. No big deal, just standard fare basically letting you know that students are cutting your hair and so forth. I came in for a regular haircut and I was given a shampoo with it too, which was very nice. I do think that they need to work on adjusting their chair height relative to the sink so that you're more comfortable. I was slightly uncomfortable, but it wasn't the end of the world. This was only during the shampoo phase. As is typical in student salons, an instructor comes along every now and again to give the students tips and critiques on what they're doing, so do expect that as they cut your hair. The staff is very friendly and personable, so that's another plus for this place. You'll be happy and comfortable as you get your cut. I left with a fantastic haircut and it only cost me $8!! That was with a shampoo as well! My presumption is that the price is that low because it's a student salon, but that was even less than the Paul Mitchell School charges. The value for money is incredible. I got a great cut and I was beyond happy with it. It may be a student salon, but they do top notch work at a bargain of a price. I went here to get extensions in full understanding that it's a hair school , I was quoted $900 for Bellami hair and the installation and I was all in. I have dark brown hair and it was discussed I would get dark brown hair, I do the first payment and go in for my appointment . First off the owner ordered the WRONG color of hair , she ordered jet black hair and was telling me I was wrong and that's the right color and I told her I asked for brown and she kept telling me no I didn't even though her assistant even remembered me saying brown. Not only this I end up going to a professional salon to find out that they in fact DID NOT buy me bellami hair extensions but cheap extensions from Amazon , the professional stylist showed me what vellum hair looks like compared to the hair in my head and mine was cheap. So disappointing that I got SCAMMED by this school and was being gaslight that I was wrong and they were right. Had such a horrible experience and not only that she put black dye in my hair without telling me to try to have the extensions and my hair blend better without telling me .. HORRIBLE read more

I have made this location my go to place for hair cuts, styles and coloring. The owner Ingrid, is wonderful and easy to talk to. She has extensive knowledge and helped me figure out what was best for my hair. All the staff are students at different skill levels so cuts and styling can take longer than in traditional salons. They are monitored by teachers to ensure they know what they are doing and to give the customer what they want. Prices are so much less than salons and I think the quality easily matches. Very happy with them. Been going there almost a year! read more

Unfortunately you can't give negative stars on yelp because that's what this place deserves. By far the worst experience I have ever had in a beauty salon. Ingrid (the instructor) is rude and completely unprofessional. Do not, under any circumstances go to this "salon". You will have a terrible experience. Not only will they disregard what you ask for and do their own thing. They will charge you a ton of money for terrible products. They will not educate you on the maintenance your service requires, and then when your color is COMPLETELY gone after 2 washes, (I don't even use regular shampoo, I use cleansing conditioner) they will tell you it's another $40 dollars for them to fix it. Worst customer service ever. They don't even use enough product in your hair, as I had a bunch of random, patchy blonde chunks. Don't let the low prices fool you, they will butcher your hair and won't even fix it. After I said that I wouldn't let them touch my hair again did she say that she'd fix it for free, she's so smug. I have never said this to anybody but that woman should be fired. That salon is unprofessional, run down, dirty, you will sit there forever and have a million people work on your hair. If you have the slightest amount of love and respect for your hair you will not go to this terrible chop shop. I walked in with beautiful hair and I left looking ridiculous, and pretty pissed. Ingrid was so rude, newsflash Ingrid, in the world of customer service the customer is always right. You should have at least given me some of my money back, then maybe I would have rated it 2 stars. This is why this place has terrible reviews. People please disregard the scarce good reviews and listen to the bad ones. I believed the good ones, and look where it got me, writing another bad review. They are teaching the students to do whatever they want to people's hair, and be rude to them when you have a problem with your hair. Awful, disgusting, unprofessional, scum. If i could rate with no stars i would. I think that this salon is unprofessional and lacking in skills. The students were nice, but overall this experience was a disaster. I came in with a wedding party to get our hair done, we anticipated to be out by 2pm, there were 6 of us and they told us that we would definitely be out in time, considering we wanted to get pictures done before the wedding. We didnt leave until 4, and we got charged extra because it took so long. What i dont understand is that we didnt want to be there that long, so why would we be charged extra for their mistake?? Not to mention the girl doing my hair had to stop half way through to get someone finish it because she wasnt sure what she was doing. I understand this is a school and that students are learning, but i also dont think we should be charged the same amount as a professional salon. I have never had my makeup done at a salon before but i found it to be extremely uncleanly to use the same brushes on everyones face, and also found that they put way to much makeup on each one of us, and then charged us extra because of the extra makeup (that none of us wanted). The bride was charged more money for her hair because it was complex (her hair was curled and left down, didnt realize that was complex). One more thing: they ran out of eyelash extensions (which fell off within the first hour, after being told they could last hours) and i had to drive across the street to buy more so that they could charge us extra for them to apply them. I was never compensated for having to supply them with eyelashes! Overall pretty sad experience, i did call to talk to a manager about how terrible the experience was and after asking to talk to the GM, i was told they would call me later (never received a call). Therefore i think this salon is unprofessional, and lacking in skills. read more

Unprofessional, no sense of empathy or compassion for their mistakes or better yet disasters they cause... the sad part was it was even a student who caused it. I left there with a MADDED mess and the owner not giving a damn about my feelings and the one that caused it I can see he did and he was trying and I was right there with him I didn't get upset, I even kept a smile to keep him motivated but this so called owner treated me like garbage because another client apparently who's money seems to have more values than mines took precedence. I was left embarrassed and to now with a bigger bill then the $3 it cost to wash my wash to now fix the disaster they caused for an actual professional to make this semi decent again. Mind you it's not as if when I came in I had super kinky hair... quite the opposite! I have very think soft curly hair! Ridiculous! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Trust me not worth the hassle!
