Instead, the conversation kept circling back to questions that left me feeling more confused than guided. The biggest concern was during clipping. Several times the clippers pinched the skin beneath my nails. When I mentioned it, the technician seemed to focus on the tool itself rather than adjusting the angle or technique. It was uncomfortable and not something I've experienced during professional nail services elsewhere. I had also hoped to add a simple nail art design. I brought photos for reference, and while the staff was polite, they seemed uncertain throughout the process. I expected more confidence and guidance. This salon is maybe 45 minutes away from my house, but I decided to give it a try since my nail lady of 8 years couldn't fit me in for a minute. I wanted Halloween nails, dang it! I am not familiar with the Midvale area, so I did miss the street and had to flip around to get in. Whoops! Upon driving up, I found the salon on the upper floor. I walked up the stairs to a cute pink door. Sarah was taking precautions for the pandemic- masks required, wash hands when you enter, and do not come in if you have any symptoms! I am generally a pretty shy and anxious person, but Sarah made me feel right at home when I came in! She is very friendly and outgoing. I loved the atmosphere, and how funny she is! I ended up paying 60$ including tip, so that wasn't bad in comparison to what I normally pay. It has been a week or so and my nails have held up pretty well. I haven't gotten acrylic in about 10 years, so I really forgot the process. She cut my cuticles which I wasn't used to so they did bleed and were sore for a few days. At the end of our nail session, she gave me the best hand massage with some type of oil, focusing on the cuticles. My guess is the gel topcoat wasn't fully cured, but the color on my thumb, and the shiny coat on 2 other nails came off and was totally stripped! :( Thats okay, though! I had a good experience overall, and I love how cute her salon is! Thanks, Sarah!
