My go-to in SLC. I moved to SLC in the summer and found this gem of a salon while out walking one day. I've since moved to the west side of town and so it's an easy 20-minute drive for me, which is worth it. I've been to other salons in SLC and none of them wow me the way this one does. Pach (pronounced Bak) always does my mani and pedis and he's AMAZING. I'll post pics of how good my nails looked even after a month (I knoooow... but work was busy and clearly so was I, but my nails lasted and still looked great!) I love the ambiance of the salon. It's nothing fancy but it's clean and comfortable. I love that when I visit, there's always some cool documentary playing on their TV. The pedicure is awesome and like others have said, the massage is that: a massage. Not like the other salons where they just rub your feet and legs and call it good. I like white on my toes and Pach has this beautiful white nail polish that lasts. My shellac manicures always come out awesome and I leave feeling like a new woman each time because of how great they clean and shape my nails. They always do a good job! I feel bad because I never make an appointment but when I do drop in, I never feel rushed or like a burden. The nail artists take their time and genuinely care that I like my nails. I've been to tons of salons around the US and this by far is one of the best. I'm not one that's wooed by fancy drinks salons offer when you come in or whatever perks salons have. I am, however, loyal to a salon that does good work, consistently. And that is Fantasy Nails. If you want to get fru-fru drinks and have nails that will chip tomorrow, then go to the other salons. Went to this salon just recently and the nail service was not what was requested and the customer service was disgusting. Went in wanting a relatively simple design with French tips and bows, just in different colors instead of what was shown in the reference picture. But they couldn't do any of what was requested. The male nail tech kept ignoring the reference picture I showed him and got upset with me when I told him that it was wrong and not what I requested. By the end, he refused to do the right design and cut off the nails! Even the base nail was wrong. The shape and size was too big. Kept wanting to paint the nails solid colors instead of the requested nail design. The end result that was cut off, was already his second attempt and it was still wrong! The nail tech was also rude and got upset with me when I "didn't tell him sooner" that it he was doing the wrong design when 1. He didn't keep asking me to make sure that he was going in the right direction and 2. He kept deliberately ignoring the reference picture and doing his own thing! Was not made to pay, but with the time I was made to sit there you would at least expect them to go back and do it right. My nails haven't chipped at all which I am honestly amazed by. Not only that, but the owners and nail technicians in the salon are so kind, knowledgeable, hardworking, and clearly know what they are doing! GO HERE IF YOU NEED NAILS DONE IN SLC! I made a last minute appointment - with 45 mins notice. The salon is more than accommodating. The exterior of the salon is not fancy. But do not let that deter you. The service here is fantastic. I had the $35 pedicure (the 3rd level up, I forgot what it is called), and I feel thoroughly pampered. The gentlemen who did my nails, I did not catch his name unfortunately, did not rush through the service. He took his time working every step. The price is very seasonable. I haven't gotten my nails done since moving to SLC four months ago because I was devastated to leave my old salon in Dallas. I had to sit and wait for about 20 minutes, but that's definitely my fault since I was a walk in. Update: Late 2015/Early 2016. I've stopped going to this salon. Bak did my nails mostly, in the beginning. I found the wife Nancy, very hard to work with. She did not listen to what we wanted, and pushed her own agenda for what SHE thought we should do with our nails (shape, etc). I had to stop her several times and tell her NO, STOP. Very frustrating. She also hurt me one too many times, and made my toes bleed. The husband Bak, is great. If you go there, don't let the wife do your nails... I have been to a lot of nail salons in Salt Lake. I haven't had very good luck anywhere. Nasty little places downtown, big nice places in the suburbs with terrible techs...Salt Lake is challenged in this regard. Then a friend turned me on to Fantasy Nails. It's this tiny little place on 3300 south at 300 e. It's sandwiched between a barber shop and I think a tattoo place. You'd totally miss it if you weren't looking hard for it. And from the outside you'd think, No. Way. But, it's not what you think! Bak and his wife Nancy and Le run a very clean and nice shop. They do an excellent job with shellac, tips of all kinds and colors, regular polish, and pink and white. They keep up with all the latest color trends and have a selection of colors that will really astound you. Their machines and facilities and pedicure chairs are in great shape and they always have cold bottled water for me when I get there. They use NuSkin products and put a lot of effort into the health of your hands/arms and feet/legs when they massage you and work on your legs. Really excellent work and excellent pedicures. Lastly, not many people are good at pink and white acrylic, but this shop is!! I can't give these folks enough credit. Usually I'm full of negative reviews after a nail salon experience. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE: I always come here to get my nails done and occasionally a pedicure, but that is all you should get done here by the lady by the way, the guy does horrible at acrylics jusy let him stick to giving you water and or doing your pedicure. Came here to get my eyelashes done and was given the WORST work i've seen. They dont use actual eyelash extensions they use the cluster extensions you get from walmart. (Keep in mind I do know the difference.) She clustered my natural eyelashes by slapping on chunks of these eyelashes on me. They were painful and I demanded a my money back or at least a refund. Nope, the lady yelled at me infront of all her customers and her husband was being very aggressive towards me. I managed to get these removed with some eyelash glue remover from sallys beauty and turns out the same product she uses on her clients in her shop are the same knock off extensions you can get anywhere. I'm a firm believer that they dont have a license to do eyelashes & have been reported for such. If you want to come here to get your nails done go ahead they do great in that but dont damage yourself by getting your eyelashes done here. I will never return to this hell hole. read more

This salon is fantastic. Not only do I have perfect nails but I also was welcomed and treated with great respect. They are funny and totally knowledgeable in what they do. Nancy is a nail wizard. My nails are not easy to do as I have a disease which makes my hand highly sensitive. She was gentle and never hurt me. The pedicure was heaven itself. Lee is a magician of massage and relaxation. Outside the salon, it says $25 for a full set. I go in and show the lady what I want and she says of course and I thought it was going to go well. The acrylic is ON MY CUTICLES. They are all slightly different shapes, super bumpy, and full of air bubbles. If I actually only had to pay $25 this would be fine. You get what you pay for. but this lady made me pay $70!!! $70 for these nails. I can't even capture how uneven these nails are. I am so disappointed and unsatisfied. Outrageously over priced. The experience was unpleasant. It was my first time visiting this salon and would not go back. I explained to them that my nails are not so strong and tend to break if the drill was used to remove the gel coat. They simply reject my request, ignore my concern, and tried to tell me wrapping in acetone will not work even after some manual filing. I have been getting gel nails done for a long time and been to a lot of salons where the filling with acetone wrapping works just fine. I didn't feel very comfortable for the whole time. I got my nails done on September 8th and there was NO fungus or green, on September 26th, that isn't even three weeks!!! my nail completely fell off and underneath it was green. I went to the doctor and they informed me this was fungus and that it was caused by unsanitary tools. I went into the salon to get a refund and she laughed in my face. She wanted me to get a fill. I told her she was crazy if she thought I would ever come here again. I have informed the health department of this and I will continue to tell people NOT to go here. I am beyond upset and the fact that she didn't even try to make up for it makes it that much worse. This business is horrible and has horrible customer service. Epic.Fail. I came here after all the positive reviews that were posted about the excellent skills of their nail technicians. I am in SLC from Asia for my daughter's Wedding. I wanted a classy pale pink nail. Bach and I talked and I showed him photos from Pinterest. He suggested a dipped nail. From there the technical experience spiraled downward to a flaming crash. My hands were not washed. I never saw him clean with alcohol his instruments. He had no expertise in creating an Ombré pink/white nail. He did two attempts, using his dremel to clean the nail in between attempts. We finally agreed it wasn't working out, and defaulted to a gel manicure I requested "pale ballet pink " with an additional coat of matte finish and a clear finish coat (I do this myself with Sally Hansen polish and it is a nice, soft quasi French manicure). Lost in translation. After 80min, I left with a gel Manicure that looks like I put a single pink-tinged clear coat on my nails. The only redeeming part was that he recognized the appt did not go well, and charged me a discounted price. They do look better than when I walked in, but not at all what I anticipated for my role as Mother of the Bride. read more
