I am actually not sure what in blazes happened this afternoon. A good friend and I were strolling this shopping center and decided to get out of the heat and check out the store (my friend is a big tech enthusiast). We were basically browsing, but my friend did find a wireless mouse that he might have purchased...except that there were two price tags, one for $5.00 and the other for $15.00. My friend and I went toward the counter, hoping to speak with one of the two people who had greeted us. We saw no one but heard voices coming from what was apparently the "back room" where repairs are done. It was partitioned off by some paneling and cardboard. My friend went past the partition to ask his question and a man who identified himself as a manager stood up and vehemently ordered my friend to leave the store "right now or I'm calling the police." No matter what my friend or I said, he was not interested in hearing it. He briskly marched us to the door and out onto the sidewalk. My friend called the guy a scatological name (which the guy deserved) and he warned us never to come back because he had us on camera. Fine. If that's the case, the cameras saw my friend pass the couch where I had seated myself and show me the package with the mismatched price tags, upon which we made our way to the counter. Other than venturing into the "forbidden zone" for all of 3 seconds, my friend committed no offense and neither did I. I suspect this store may have been held up recently and therefore we took the brunt of all the fear that resulted. WE are not responsible for any of that. The owner should do a better job of making his employees feel safer and providing more polite and professional service to innocent customers. read more

Paid $414.26 for a refurbished computer. Not being a techy, I assumed that refurbished meant that it would perform similar toa new one. Got home and it ran at afraction of the internet spped of my other (older) computers. They said that they recommend hooking it up to an ethernet cable. After some discussion, they agrred to take it back and charged me $114.86 for a "restocking" fee. Beware! read more

I took in my computer and they told me my motherboard was fried and there was no way to salvage anything, so I bought a computer from them. I took my dead computer to my local computer store, and they told me it had run out of battery power and was in "hibernation". Took the new computer back to Affordable and had to pay a 20% restocking fee, even though the whole transaction took place because of their bad advice. I paid $70.00 for bad advice and they get away with that. read more

This used to be a good store for many years when it was in Chattanooga, TN. They then moved to Ft. Oglethorpe and it was gone seriously downhill since then. I took my computer there because I kept getting disconnected from the Internet and they told me it was because it was in Airplane mode. Really?!? I took it back again as it continued to disconnect and I tried to talk with the person that looked at it the first time but the manager tried to tell me it was in Airplace mode. I told him I didn't want to talk to him and he rudely told me that I had to deal with him since he was the Manger. Really?? I HAVE to deal with him??? No I can take my business elsewhere. I finally figured out what the problem was and it had NOTHING to do with being in Airplane mode. Never again will I go here. read more

I like to think that because of my 25+ years of experience in repairing and programming personal computers and printers, I can write a fair and hopefully unbiased review of the experience that I have had with Affordable Computers. I have dealt with this company before and I have never had a bad experience with these guys. And, honestly, I don't think that I will ever have a bad experience with them. These guys are well educated and experienced with personal computer and printer repair and I have been satisfied with every experience I have had. I called one of the guys there today with a rather esoteric and difficult problem that I was having with Google. This, unfortunately, is NOT a new thing with Google. Their software, especially their browser, leaves something to be desired in the ease of use department and in the issue of flexibility as well. This particular problem had to do with one of the functionalities that is unfortunately not well documented or explained. It would seem that google chrome sends cookies to search services to the address bar and appears to be using these cookies to generate localized advertisements which it misleadingly displays as "trending searches". As if this were not bad enough, it does not include either a decent explanation of these "searches" or a way to turn them off built INTO the program. The guy who answered the phone did his best to try to help, even to the extent of jumping on to his machine and going through the problem WITH me. This was going the extra mile for real and he did NOT have to do this but he did, and pretty much all the guys who work there are exactly like him. And this is the usual type of service that I, and everybody I know, who goes to these guys gets. The same excellent service! It is absolutely no wonder to me that these folks have been in business for as long as they have. And they've been around longer than the majority of shops! All I can say is that if I run into a particularly hard problem, the guys at Affordable are going to get the first try at it, and the chances are that they'll only need one try! read more

I dropped a $1000 Lenova Gaming laptop off with this company around the beginning of June for a keyboard repair/replacement. I called them 3 weeks later only for the guy to tell me "O yea its been ready" Although no one ever called me to let me know. After getting it back home my wife noticed that her screws to the laptop were not returned/put back into the bottom of the device. I returned to the store to have this completed and the young man who was there attempted to find similar screws to place back into the coverings. These screws did not fit and needless to say punctured a hole through the keyboard and screen of the laptop. It has been in their possession since 6-30-20. To compensate the young man did replace the screen with a better refresh rate monitor (something my wife has no clue about). She just wants her laptop back. It is now July 9th and we are waiting for a new keyboard to come in as the last one they ordered was defective. I have had nothing but patience but I was told it would be rdy in 3 days (3days ago). When I called this morning to check I was given the response that it might be rdy tomorrow. The young man on the phone was short with me it felt given everything else we have been through. I would like to contact the owner of this establishment because at this point im done calling them begging for information or to see if my computer is done. Sadly under previous management I was assisted by the previous manager in a direct issue with a gaming desktop i had built 3 years ago. His service was remarkable and excellent. I am not happy about this service a 2nd time around and will be moving forward with filing a complaint. read more

My old computer was so slow and I had it for many many years but I could not afford a brand new one. I had dealt with this office before for repairs and was very pleased. I recently bought a refurbished Dell computer at a very reasonable price and I am very pleased. I am over 70 and the two guys that I dealt with were very patient and answered all of my crazy questions. This location is near my home and they are great to deal with. Give them a try!!! read more
