Called in around 2pm on a Thursday. Explained to the receptionist Samantha one of my molars had cracked and I was in pain. She called my insurance to make sure it was the correct one. She called my back pretty quick with a appt at 430pm SAME DAY. She was very nice and helpful. The dentist was great. I hardly felt any pain while getting the tooth removed. He even offered to give me more numbing medication if necessary. Will be back soon for more work. I have already recommended this place to a few people. read more

This place is definitely worth the time. I knew I had some problems with my teeth and needed a root canal. They catered to my needs very well through the experience and made me aware of the situation and what they were going to do. Of course a root canal doesn't feel good but they were pretty fast. The doctor made sure if I felt uncomfortable with the pain level he gave me more knumbing shots. I would recommend this place even if you can afford a place with a more lengthy track history or make look fancier. Today I went in to get an extraction and bone graft. I came in very nervous and on the verge of crying, Dr. Barzivand made me feel very comfortable, he eased my mind and throughout my procedure he made sure I was ok. We just move to the are and I ask my wife to find me a Dentist to go and she fund this clinic. my opinion is that this place is very professional from the people that works on the front desk to the doctor assistents. The dentist is top notch. His staff wasn't very good but the staff has been changed/upgraded and Dr. P.B.'s new right hand man is excellent. I had two crowns redone that were originally done elsewhere. WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT. I had two high noble white gold (higher gold content) PFM(porcelain fused metal) crowns. The lab they use(Sammy) is excellent and very artistic. I also had bleaching, cleaning and X-rays. I would have paid $3000 or more at a "cosmetic dentist." But, I paid substantially less and got a better result! My gums are much happier now and I have to beat the women off with a stick. read more

This place rocks! Scheduling was painless, fast and easy; even on short notice! Needed a root canal and they got me in and fixed up, fast! The Crown they put on me was a perfect fit! Everyone, from the front office to the assistants to Dr. B himself was great.. Very calming attitudes by the entire staff. The root canal to the crown required several visits, and each time I waited no longer then 5-10 mins before I was seen. I paid out of pocket and the prices were fair! I went to the emergency room with a bad abscessed tooth. I was told to see an oral surgeon within 24 hrs. Afforablde dental git me in asap. I was scared and in a great deal of pain when i arrived. Their entire staff was wonderful and supportive from beginning to end. After draining my wound i returned 3 days later to have the tooth ectracted and a bone graft. I was so scared but i showed up. Affordable Dental in Van Nuys Rocks! I have to admit I was scared out of my mind to go to the dentist but I had an emergency and I had to go. There was no way I could avoid it. Once I arrived to the office the staff was super friendly. I didn't wait long and I made a same day appointment. Once in the back I had X-rays and then I saw Dr. B. He informed me I needed to have my tooth pulled with of course made my blood pressure go higher than it's ever been in my life I'm sure. Not to mention there was some bone damage so of course I was scared out of my mind. Dr. B assured me it would not be bad and of course I did not believe him at all. Boy was I wrong! Dr. B. was absolutely amazing! He numbed me up real nice and to be honest even that wasn't bad at all and I HATE NEEDLES!! The tooth extraction went GREAT and I really didn't even feel much pressure! Trust me I wouldn't lie to you! Dr. B. even put in a substance to repair the bone damage and stitched me up real nice. I am definitely going to keep going to Affordable Dental. I must say that out of all the dentists I have been to, Dr Payam Barzivand is the best. His office staff was so friendly and professional. They didn't keep me waiting at all which other dentists and drs offices I always end up waiting a long time. Dr PB was so kind and friendly. He also cares about every question or concern you have and is so patient. It's hard to find patient dentists these days that aren't rushing you out or making you feel rushed. He did a great job on cleaning my teeth. I really felt great when leaving his office. Patient service was great. Very interactive among each other and their patients. The place is very clean and welcoming. HOWEVER, this place follows the same steps as Western Dental. After they quote you for the service needed (which will likely be overpriced), walk away and get a 2nd opinion elsewhere. Also, the front office biller/receptionist seem to be trained/compensated for maximizing the dentist office revenue by over charging their patients (BEWARE)... The male front office staff member originally quoted me a price and after leaving the place and verifying my credit card I was charged an additional $100... The customer service & service is great at high cost, but unless you are okay with overpaying because of their great service, GET A 2ND OPINION ELSEWHERE. Overall, I felt like I was going to a dealership who got overcharged for a car. Definitely not a great feeling as a customer and definitely not coming back. read more

I've recently gotten a lot of needed dental work from Dr. Barzivand at Affordable Dental. I came in with a tooth emergency that needed a crown right away. I'm afraid of dentists and was a trembling mess. The Dr. has treated me so well and knows how to talk to me to make me feel better. My biggest fear is ending up on some dateline NBC show for being coaxed into unneeded dental work... so it took a minute for me to trust the dentist, and I actually do trust Dr. Barzivand and went through with the work he suggested and showed me I needed on the X-rays. Dentists need good reviews for people to trust them, and that's why I'm reviewing here. The staff all are wonderful too. read more
