Thanks, Yelp, for helping us find an excellent dentist, Dr. Boone. Tammy, the receptionist, is always so pleasant to chat with and schedule appointments. Our dental hygienist (I forgot her name, but will update when I see her again) is very friendly and thorough with the cleaning. Fill out paper work and then you'll be given a quick tour of the facility. They do everything in-house, so no long waits. Lots of rooms. Nice, clean facility. Everyone greets you. Then, it's down to the cleaning. Flossing, gum measurements, high powered water cleaning, x-rays. After the session, I met with Dr. Boone who was friendly and also checked my teeth. I never felt rushed with my appointments. They take their time, and you can definitely tell they love what they do. The staff loves working with Dr. Boone and their job. I went home with a bag full of goodies-- pack of trident gum, water bottle, toothbrush, and various types of flosses. Never had a problem finding parking as they have a designated parking lot for the building. Location is close to Fred Meyer's and easy access to the Hwy 5.

He's super nice, personable, and fun to talk with, as are Cindy, Theresa, and Monica (everyone I've had the pleasure of dealing with at Towne Centre) and he's a brilliant dentist, of course. I have never had stronger, smoother, more natural looking fillings--ever. And I have quite a few buckles. True artistry. And everyone was so kind, absolutely instrumental in my overcoming this phobia, that I didn't even bother asking for nitrous. And I was titrating off of an anti-anxiety medication--so that's saying something. Another thing that is very important to me is that the dentist treats his staff with respect and care, which Dr Lorio definitely does. If you want to touch up your makeup they have some brilliant samples in the lav (the lipstick I tried was so good I think I'll be contacting whomever the rep is!). Bonus--you are also given a carnation: mine was shell pink and smelled amazing. Brought extra cheer to our home office. Thank you so very much, ladies and gents. :-)

Dr. James is extremely sensitive to patients who are nervous or anxious, he always makes it as close to an enjoyable experience as going to the dentist can be. Years ago when our six year old knocked out her teeth in a scooter accident, Dr. James came in and opened the office on a Saturday evening to examine her, he always goes above and beyond. We are very happy to have found this dentist, and since they work on adults also we will likely be patients for many more years!

Given his challenges related to his autism, a dentist visit is usually him grinning and bearing it with strangers in his mouth. Which it is for most kids, but exacerbated by his disability. The dentist is well aware of his disability. Today we took him in for a routine cleaning and exam and learned that he'll need a few fillings. The dental hygienist was completely insensitive to his needs and generally seemed frustrated she had to deal with our son. He wasn't throwing a fit. He was tearing up because he was uncomfortable and the X-ray mouthpiece hurt and that when she was flossing him, she was being rough. Then, when the dentist delivered the results that he needed fillings, he did so in a way where he made it clear he did not want to maintain us as customers. Instead of saying "we don't feel like we can provide the level of care we believe your son needs, were referring you to the children's hospital...", he said he was not willing to provide the service so here's a referral. Understand, we're the first people to admit when our kids are being turds, because we don't want them to be a burden on anyone else. With that said, our son was a trooper today given how his autism can manifest in similar situations. The dentist and his staff acted in an insensitive manner and quite frankly not you expect from professionals dealing with a child with a disability. TL:DR- The dentist and his staff were rude and insensitive to our disabled child.

My children (ages 3yo and 20mos) had such a good time at the dentist, they didn't cry once!!! The office was decorated beautifully. It was almost like what you would see as a dream world for children. There was a train track wrapped around the office, on the walls. There is a doll house and pirate ship, in the middle of the waiting area, computers with kid-friendly games lining one wall, and a play kitchen along the back wall. My children automatically settled in which was a lifesaver for me, since I had to fill out the patient forms. Which you DON'T NEED to manually fill out anymore. They have fast patient check in which is all computer based! No more hand cramps!! :-) After checking in we were greeted by Dr. James' assistant. She brought us to the back where the kids got to pick out their toothbrushes. (Amazingly these weren't the cheap ones with the gold lettering on it... they were the same OralB ones that I buy at the store for my children.) We then took them to the dentist chair which was made perfect kid size by putting a little kids sofa chair on it. My toddler got to watch Cars on a monitor to help make him feel more comfortable. The staff amazed me with how patient and caring they were. They never once pushed either child to open their mouth or to do anything they weren't yet comfortable They would just try a different way, or move on to a different part of the exam and go back to that when they were ready. After their exams they got to take their "My First Dentist Visit" picture, which was printed off as a souvenir for me. Then the children were then led down the hall to the "prize room." They had wallets, bags, balls, stickers, coloring books, and many more cool toys. The kids each got to pick out a prize. The visit was amazing and I recommend them to everyone that is looking for a dentist for their children. You will NOT be disappointed!!

Phones ringing, lines backing up, people waiting everywhere, and the few staff members present looked like they were moving in slow motion. Not rushed. Not hustling. Just... gliding through time at a pace that suggested they had nowhere to be for the next decade. Every step took forever. Check-in? Forever. Screening? Forever. Actually getting seated? A saga. I've seen sloths show more urgency crossing a road. The frustrating part isn't even the wait, it's that you can clearly see the bottleneck happening in real time. People stacked up. Staff casually strolling between stations. No sense of urgency. No communication about delays. Just vibes and fluorescent lighting. If you have absolutely nothing else to do for the next several hours and you enjoy watching efficiency take a personal day, this might be your spot. If there were an Olympic event for "Turning 45 Minutes Into an Existential Crisis," this place would take gold, silver, and bronze. The atmosphere? Imagine a DMV that lost its will to live, mixed with fluorescent lighting bright enough to interrogate a superhero. The chairs have the personality of unsalted rice cakes. The energy in the room felt like everyone collectively realized they forgot to move their laundry to the dryer. Customer service? Let's just say I've had more warmth from an automated "Your call is important to us" message. I wasn't greeted , I was processed. I half expected someone to stamp "Fragile: Handle With Mild Indifference" on my forehead. The worst part isn't even the wait -- it's that they know they're bad and do absolutely nothing about it. Every complaint gets the same copy-paste "Sorry you had a bad experience, we're committed to improving" response... and then nothing changes. Same long waits. Same understaffed shifts. Same slow process. At some point it stops being a mistake and starts being the standard. And the paperwork. Oh, the paperwork. I'm fairly certain I signed something that gave them naming rights to my firstborn. By page 47, I was just autographing out of muscle memory. By the end of it all, I walked out feeling like I had just completed a side quest in a video game I didn't agree to start. Would I return? Only if stranded in a desert and the only way home required donating plasma to power a spaceship. One star. And that star is for the parking lot, which at least had clear lines.
