Middleman company masquerading as a dumpster rental service If I can save even one person from this experience, this review is worth writing. This company presents itself as a dumpster rental operation. It is not. They are a broker -- they take your money, hand your job off to a local contractor, and then become completely useless the moment anything goes sideways. And in my case, things went very sideways. The container that showed up was a trailer. Not a dumpster. A trailer -- with a bed sitting three feet off the ground. I had heavy material to move, and now instead of rolling it into a ground-level dumpster like a normal human being, I was expected to hoist everything up over a trailer wall. Not what I agreed to. Not what I paid for. I called customer service and spoke to a rep named Kevin. First he told me the company exclusively rents roll-off dumpsters. Then he got off the phone with the local contractor and came back with a completely different story -- apparently my trailer was actually a 10-yard dumpster. Funny how that works. Escalating was a dead end. Kevin insisted he was the highest authority available. When I pointed out that not owning the company means someone above you exists, it didn't move the needle at all. The options he offered -- a $500 credit or two extra days -- solved exactly none of my actual problem. I needed the right equipment, not a consolation prize. A real discount? Out of the question. SCAM, do not use this company. Ordered a dumpster from them for a garden clean up. It was mulch only, the rep specified organic material only. I paid over $600 for the dumpster and then a few weeks after it was off site, they charged my card on file $1200 for overage weight. Instead of taking organic material to an organic recycler (which is what we all do in landscaping) and paying $350 for a 20 yard, which was more than covered in my up front costs, they took it to the landfill. This way they get huge weight overages and apply it to the customer to make even more money. I made the mistake of seeing the reviews for Affordable Dumpster Rentals (4 Star) and then calling Affordable Dumpster Rentals.COM (1.5 Star) (not the same company) Looks like every review before me says the exact same thing. Terrible.... I simply wanted to clear out my basement storage space and garage of some household clutter. I got a 30 yard dumpster from them just to be safe (their largest size). I filled it about halfway with pretty lightweight items (old, broken, plastic kids toys, cheap, lightweight bookshelves, shipping materials like Styrofoam, etc. They told me that as long as I stayed under 3,000 lbs, I would not be charged extra. After the pickup, they sent me an additional invoice for 4,600 lbs total ($132 extra). I disputed it and they sent me a landfill receipt with the weight that said "construction materials". There were no construction materials in the dumpster, just relatively lightweight things with a half full dumpster. They bullied me into paying the extra fee, threatening late fees, collections, etc. I firmly believe that they are predatory and lie to get extra money. Avoid them at all costs! read more

After numerous calls to the company received a text saying it would be rescheduled for the following day. Finally got a call from someone who said he was a supervisor and when asked if it would definitely be delivered the following day he said he couldn't promise that. When asked to cancel and get a refund he said he had to send a request to cancel it and then wait to send it to billing. I do not recommend using this company. I will share their pros and cons, but if you need a solid delivery date and a solid quote, save you time and go with another company. I started looking for a dumpster for a project on December 18th. Sent several requests to 10+ companies, and ADR was by far the fastest to respond. I had a phone call response in under 15 minutes from when I sent a quote request in. This is where I praise ADR, their customer-facing staff is excellent. I'll speak to my issue with ADR in a moment, but even during that discussion their customer-facing staff is very professional. I wasn't ready to make a commitment to a company at that point as I wanted to see all my options, but by the end of the day I made my decision and made a deposit that night. ADR was the second lowest price of all my quotes, but it was their staff that sold me. I felt like they really wanted my business, and that's rare today. This is where my praise for ADR ends. On December 19th, I get a call in response to my deposit, and we finalize the delivery date, location, dumpster size, length of rental, etc. Dumpster would be delivered on December 29th and picked up on January 4th. The delivery and pickup would be sometime during the day on those days, but that was ok with my timeline. I needed the dumpster there on the 29th but not having it a full workday was fine as my crew was showing up that day and would have some prep anyway. I paid the agreed amount and waited for December 29th. On the morning of December 29th, I got a phone call from ADR, explaining that delivery would be delayed to December 30th. According to ADR, a truck had mechanical issues, and they would need to send a different one the next day. For me this was a pain, but the contract stated ADR is not liable for lost time on my part. Fair enough, I'm not happy about it, but there is nothing else I can do about it. But immediately after telling me my delivery would be delayed, I'm told I will need to pay an additional "distance fee", roughly a 12% increase in cost from what I had already agreed to and paid. At this point ADR did offer to cancel my contract and full refund with no penalty, but my timeline was the issue. Every company I contacted had a minimum week's lead time, so canceling was not an option. At this point my options were to pay the surprise fee or pay significantly more to send the crew out in a week or two. Delaying was not a good option. ADR got me good, well played. I agreed to the fee and delivery change and explained I would be leaving reviews of the company. The ADR staff on the phone understood, and as I said, was very polite. The last thing to note, I did not get an additional day of rental; the pickup was still scheduled for January 4th. On December 30th, after 3:30 pm I got a text from the crew and a picture of the dumpster in the driveway. Functionally, two days my crew went without the dumpster. So, I received my service late, did not get an increase in service time, and received a 12% increase in price for my trouble. I will need a dumpster again before this project is done, but I will not be contacting ADR. I need the product that I pay for at agreed upon time and the agreed upon amount. read more

They must be getting worse. I rented a 15 yard dumpster. They were over a week late picking it up. I just put household trash from my mom's old apartment in it. 2 months later I got an unauthorized charge for $2300. They said the trash weighed 23,000 lbs. Now just for reference, my Nissan Pathfinder weighs less than 7,000 lbs but it wouldn't fit into the he space of a 15 yard dumpster. I called first thing in the morning the dumpster was scheduled for delivery to ask if I could switch from a 15-yard to a larger size. She said if the dumpster was not in route and delivered that day then call back. The dumpster didn't even show up until after 5 PM, (not seeing the reason here why they couldn't change the size since only one dumpster fits in the truck at a time this should have been ample notice to schedule the larger size instead) and when it did, I told the driver it was too small. He called his company, then told me he could take it back and that I should call in the morning to arrange a different size. The next day, when I called, the company told me there would be a $200+ fee for refusing the dumpster. At no point--either during my morning call or when the driver was here--was I informed about any kind of refusal fee. The communication is terrible, and they're quick to charge you without explanation. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Very unprofessional and frustrating experience. Beware if you use affordable dumpster rental . I rented a 30 yard dumpster for a household clean out. Lawn chairs, holiday decoration, pictures few small furniture items etc. we were allowed 3,000 lbs which is 2 1/2 tons. I took pictures of the dumpster number and all 3 side of the can. I know the contract was 130.00 per 1,000 lbs over which I signed. This dumpster was picked up on 9/8 and I'm getting a bill saying I was 5520lbs overweight to the tune of 717.00 !! Almost 2 1/2 tons over. I called for a copy of the weight ticket which they sent to me and no where on that ticket shows the dumpster that we filled. If I was overweight I'm fine with paying the bill but when they can't prove to me that this weight was in the container number I rented, how do I know it was mine !! I was in the trucking business for 26 years picking up and delivering to ports and military bases and we always had container number or equipment numbers to match up with the bol. This company is a scam! I ordered a dumpster, let's start off with they broke the concrete in the driveway when they drop off the dumpster. Mainly wood and boards was put in the dump and they said I went over the weight limit. I was charged an additional $500 dollars, not including the $400 I had to pay for the dumpster. When I inquired and requested to see the paperwork for the weight they emailed me a piece of paper from Miles dumping saying the weight was over 6000lbs, anyone could write that on paper. I want the actual invoice from the company that was submitted the day of the dumping. Not weeks later. Very deceiving and I believe a fraud. I recommend a class action lawsuit against this company. This appears to be a broker (like AAA is for towing services) who does not know at the time of your call to order a dumpster which company they will actually dispatch. The initial price is attractive, but pay close attention to the weight limit verbiage. Where literally all other companies list weight limit in TONS, these folks list it in POUNDS. ...and they charge $90/1000lbs over that limit. Our rental price DOUBLED with a weight of ~5500 lbs when this would have been completely within the limit of every other dumpster company I've worked with. Tuesday afternoon we were in a bind after 1-800-Got-Junk flaked on us so we looked up "dumpster rental near me" on Google. This company was the first that popped up so we called them. The lady we spoke with was super helpful and very friendly. She answered all of our questions and we scheduled a drop off for the next day and pick up Friday. The next morning I decided to look at the company's reviews and found there was mainly 1 star reviews, and most were due to drop off and pick up issues. My heart sank, as I started to worry we may have been scammed and began to consider calling to cancel the order. Not 5 minutes later the dumpster was being dropped off in the location requested. We got everything loaded into the dumpster and called the company to let them know they could pick it up before Friday if they wanted, as we had finished the job we needed it for. Don't do business with this company!!! We have already disputed the change with American Express and informed them that this vendor scams people. Their manager lies and are dishonest. We booked a rental two days ago and were told we could make changes the following business day of necessary. I attempted to contact them several times, but no answer! Was scheduled for delivery on a Wednesday had to call and confirm the order and was assured the dumpster would be delivered on Wednesday. When I asked for approximate ETA they said typically by noon dumpsters are delivered. Noon came and went, called again at 4:30 to ask for the ETA of when it would be delivered. Was told by a representative they would check and text me the estimated ETA, but that we were still on the schedule to receive delivery that day. 6:00 PM rolled around no text, no dumpster. Tried to call again and the office was closed. We never received the dumpster putting our project a day behind. I ordered a 40cubic yard dumpster and I the day the dumpster was supposed to be delivered they said sorry but the last return was running late so you should get it the next day. My crew was starting that day and couldn't start per the schedule. Additionally when I got the dumpster they didn't know when the dumpster was supposed to be delivered. OMG! I wish there was a zero rating or below zero rating I could give for this company. First of all, I Googled them and I really should have read these reviews or looked at the BBB before hiring them. I spoke to Tyler over the phone and gave him specific directions on where to put the dumpster, noting not to put it at the top of the driveway but at the end of the driveway near the house and garage because we did not want to have to carry trash up the long hill of the driveway. Well, they delivered the dumpster and set it up at the top of the driveway at around 6:30 a.m. before we got up. Never came to the front door to ask anything. As soon as we got up I called them to tell them that the dumpster was in the wrong place and they would need to come back and place it correctly. They sent me several text messages asking questions and finally texted me back and said that the instructions said the "end of the driveway" and if I wanted them to come back out they would charge me an additional $275. By that time I was so frustrated that I called them and went off! I was so angry! At them and at myself for not checking reviews. I told them that I was told the call was being recorded so they should have a recording of my instructions. I told them I spoke to Tyler when placing the order. I told them I would not be scammed and that the dumpter was blocking my son's car and he could not get out to go to work and I would be charging them for his missed workday if they did not get out there and move it. They had even placed it so close to a detached garage that you couldn't even get the door open. I was so furious that they seemed to be trying to scam me. I told them I would call the police if I had to and call someone to tow it off. Anyway, after around an hour after that they sent me a text and said that they had reviewed the order and agreed that they had misplaced the dumpster and would be sending someone out to move it at no charge. They eventually made everything right but at that point I felt like they were taking any opportunity to scam me so I made sure to re-read my contract. I made sure we did not overload the dumpter and did not put anything in dumpster that did not belong. I took pictures of the dumpter and its contents and made sure I called them to return to pick up the dumpster on the 4th day of a 5 day rental so they could not scam me by saying I didn't call for pickup. I took a picture of the gate firmly closed and locked and when they finally came to pick up the dumpster two days later I took a video of the pick up and asked on video if everything looked okay and the driver affirmed that everything looked fine. I am still paranoid that they are going to try to charge me something extra and am keeping all pics, info, video, etc. to protect myself. We order a dumpster for Thursday and it never showed up and they Reassured us they would be there the next day for sure.
