So I paid him. Later I checked the bathroom (he never went in there) and the faucet was stI'll running. The problem wasn't fixed. I called the company and was told there was no one who could come out. They would send someone the next day. In the meantime, my son got a friend to come and look, he diagnosed a problem with the faucet, got the parts and fixed it in less than a half hour. My son called the company to complain and asked for a call back. Instead they called me and said the repairman fixed something that needed to be fixed offered no apology or remuneration and hung up. BTW, my water heater was new. I think they saw an older woman, and saw an opportunity to make some money.
