My in-laws (in their 70's) had an element replaced on their hot water tank. The technician pinched a piece of insulation behind the element causing a slow leak. The In-laws called back, ECO sent another technician that claimed that they needed a new tank and it would cost them $3,500 to replace! How is that even possible!? Even high end tanks are maybe $800, so they can somehow justify $2700 in labor? Get real! Regardless, I found the pinched insulation and had it fixed in 5 mins. It is amazing what you can find if you actually inspect the device you are troubleshooting! These people will try to squeeze as much money out of anyone they can take advantage of. They are either horrible at troubleshooting the problem or just blatantly scamming people. Absolutely no excuse. They commented on my google review (which they remove TONS of the bad google reviews to pad their numbers on google ratings) and told me to call their customer service number. So, I called the number provided. I asked to speak to a representative but was denied because I was not the homeowner that had the work done, I was the son-in-law that FIXED their mistake. They had no interest in speaking with me even though they told me to call them in their review comment? All because I wasn't the account holder for the work. I even asked her if it was okay if the homeowner called and handed me the phone, and she said "no, we only speak with the homeowner." Your customer service line is just as bad as your troubleshooting technicians. What a joke! I can't stress enough to be extremely cautious with ECO and I would strongly advise getting a second opinion if they try to gouge you on overpriced quotes! I have had a truly terrible experience with Eco Plumbers. I blame myself for not getting a second opinion on some moisture from a hot water tank. I took the salesman at his word that replacing the tank was the best option. He also upsold me a water treatment system and what he termed some minor but needed plumbing upgrades. From the start what should have been a one day job is now into week three and today one of their technicians broke the mainline from the street to my home. In addition, they can't seem to fix anything on the first visit.. I called to see if it would still be under warranty. They ghosted me. I hired another plumber to fix it. It cost less than 50% of what EcoPlumbers charged me. Even when overcharging me for the job, EcoPlumbers also tried to upsell me. They claimed my main shutoff valve for the entire house needed to be replaced. I've used it many times since, and there's nothing wrong with it. I will never use EcoPlumbers again. read more

Another simple ask with end to end failure. Booked 4-8pm appointment several days in advance for a simple Outdoor hose bib. Eco offered free estimate and could do work same day if approved. Day comes and No Show - called at 7:30pm and said they had to reschedule. Nothing like taking off work to wait for a no show. They offered a $50 discount for inconvenience (job hadn't been estimated yet) and booked for next day. THEN - next day they called and said ready at 3pm (obviously i was still at work). Reconnected at 430 and reviewed project. Estimator (Victor) was very nice, but quoted code requirements that were not accurate and landed on an estimate $1500 that was more than double my selected - regular plumbers. I tried someone different due to leaking water and appointment times - guess i need to learn patience. I would highly recommend that if you have to use these guys, book in the morning and price shop. While trying to figure out the problem, the plumber also came and tried to upsale things to me, tried to pressure me to agree to a very big purchase of over 5000 dollars on the phone on the spot. I was underwhelmed by my recent quote from Eco Plumbers. I had clogged my kitchen drain and did some undisclosed damage to the pipes under the sink. It was very easy to set up an appointment over the phone, and the service tech was also very plesant. However, they try to upsell you on EVERYthing. The tech peeked under my sink and then wanted to see the water heater. For a leak? So the first quote they presented me was to replace my water heater. Again, called for a leak, so an issue with water LEAVING the sink, not anything remotely related to hot water. I was also quoted to replace the drainline, and replace all of the pipes under the sink. Snaking would be extra. So the primary quote to fix the clog and replace the pipes and water heater was $5000. Replacing the under sink fixtures was $1100. There were 3 liability waivers - one for turning off the water to the house, one for snaking, and one for, actually, I can't even remember. Cost to repair the eroded gasket under the sink from another company? $200. Again, I appreciate the quick and professional service, but the upsell on entirely unrelated "problems" was not helpful and didn't come close to actually fixing the problem. read more

This below picture was my wife's post, I haven't been able to leave a review until now. Your technicians made us feel that we were entrapped into spending more money than what was originally agreed upon. Our original agreement was for $7,500 for a line replacement. When they came out they knocked off $1,400 because they did not need to dig up the sidewalk, however they could not remove the old line even though they had already cut the line which meant they had to bore under our house for a new line. This was not in the original agreement and cost us an extra $4,900 which put us over budget for this. I asked if there was any other avenue of approach such as just a line repair but was told no. It was either pay $11,000 or not have water. This is absolutely unacceptable. Additionally when boring under our basement, they tore an additional line to which they said that they would just eat the cost like they were doing us a favor to make everything better. read more

They send you a photo of their rep who is coming to your house, which is a nice perk. You also get a heads up by email, text and a call when they are on their way. This place is a joke. We had a scheduled install for our kitchen. Everything is ready and torn out - therefore there is ZERO water in the kitchen. We were given the time window of 8am-noon. They call at 11 and cancel because of their 'emergencies'. Yet when I've called in the past for an emergency, I've been told they are 'too busy'. So you cannot win with them. Schedule? Cancel for emergencies. Emergency? Too busy for you then too. Even told the person its basically a scheduled emergency due to no water and basically was told 'too bad'. I requested plumbing service today with Eco Plumbers. They advised a technician would text me 30 minutes prior to arrival. I waited from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. only to receive a call at 5:00 p.m. stating they had no technicians available. During my wait they sent a text asking customers to change non-emergency appointments for a 50.00 credit, clearly overbooking their customers. I own 30 doors/rentals. Their loss, I will never consider them again. They wasted my entire day! I called during the day to get status and at one point their recording said "nobody to answer the phone at this time". I would not recommend them. They are too big, like calling a call center. First impression is lasting impression. read more

September, 2024. I called to obtain service on my hallway "standard" low rise guest hallway bathroom toilet. The toilet flush mechanism needed replacement as it was continuously leaking water into the tank (not leaking onto the floor). I had replaced the toilet when i bought the home (2009). Eco plumber arrived and asked if I wanted to replace the entire toilet, answer no - just replace the internal supply line / flush mechanism parts, charging $750. ECO is not a 1 and done visit. 1st appointment scheduled between 8 and noon on Friday for stopped up sink. Called to check at noon and was told they would be there soon. Technician arrived around 2 but was unable to resolve. Was told another technician would be there first thing Saturday morning with a camera and would hydroblast to resolve issue. Later that day recieved a text from ECO for an appointment between 8 and 9 Monday morning. Called again and was told no availability for Saturday. Monday would be the soonest. They did offer a $100 discount. Technician arrived around 930 ran camera to find blockage. From there I could choose hydroblast or pipe replacement, neither of which he could do. I believe he was the salesman which was later confirmed by the technicians that came later. He did not recommend the hydroelectric as that would be a temporary fix. Showed me "issues" with the piping drop and elbows and recommended that be replaced to permanently fix the issue. He said someone could be there same day. I had to pay half up front to guarantee my appointment same day. 2 more technicians arrived around 4. They went to the basement and reviewed. Said drop was fine but the clog was at one of the elbows and they would replace the pipe and elbows with different degree to improve flow. No need to replace piping under sink which was included in the quote.They cut the pipe and "greasy goop' went everywhere. Wall; furniture, and floor, none of which they covered . The prior tech and I moved the couch and I removed the area rug. I took them a large trash can down to use. They did offer to clean the wall, but didn't do a very good job. They still wanted the remainder of the price quoted enenthough all the work quoted was not done. They called their boss and knocked off $200. Overall the technicians were friendly but the process is very disjointed and drawn out. Also left a mess to clean up. I would not use again unless something happens with the pipe they replaced as it has a warranty. read more

I was just told by ECO plumbing that they were sorry but could not meet the appointment I had set up 2 days ago. They gave me a 4 hour window, I called with 45 minutes left in the window and told I was still on the schedule. I got a call right away and told to re-schedule. Needless to say things happen but I would have thought they could have been more courteous and shared long before the almost 4 hours was addressed that they would not be able to meet the allotted time. I was at a house that I did not live at and had nothing else better to do than sit around and eventually be told they were not going to show up? I wish I could bill them for my time. This is what gives other competent hard working honest service folks a bad name. I will never call ECO again for anything.
