When he came by my place, Jacob was kind and professional. He identified the problem quickly and made a plan to replace the disposal. I also had him look at the seal on another sink which was not what I called him out for. He did so willingly and was able to complete the repair. He charged an extremely reasonable price for both jobs and I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. It has been a few weeks and the sink and disposal are better than ever. While acceptable, the extent of services and resulting billing felt a bit excessive. *Our insurance company communicated with Roto Rooter to question some of the charges. * We later learned that Roto Rooter agreed to our insurance company's assessment, yet we were billed the original estimate (110% of what was agreed with our insurance company). * When we questioned the billing we had paid, it took over a month to get acknowledgement that we'd been overcharged. * We ultimately rec'd a credit for the overcharge, 10 days after it was promised and 3 months after the service was provided. While we were quite happy with the service we received, we were disappointed with the business practices.

When we called Apex expecting them to rectify the issue, we were told they would only come back out if we paid a brand-new service charge. Paying double the market rate for incomplete work is bad enough, but refusing to make it right is unacceptable. After this experience, I dug deeper on third-party sites like Yelp and the BBB and found a pattern of complaints matching ours (inflated prices, messy work, and refusal to fix issues without new fees), which makes me question how genuine their Google rating really is. My wife and I own two local businesses, including one in the home service industry, and we would never treat a customer this way. Declined to fix the line when a quote was requested claiming he didn't have a hitch post on his truck to tow an excavator to reconnect it. (Sewer coupling was about 12" below grade) and his truck with the hitch was acting up. Didn't have a recommendation for another service to solve the problem when asked for referral.
