The have one star because you have to give them something to write a review. I book a Globus Tour of Italy $5800 dollars for an 11 day tour. I book with a women called Cyd. By the 18 day when the rest of the money was due she was out having foot surgery. I had to call 5 times to pay off my balance. When I nned help with the excursion she was still not back with the excuse that she had complication. So give me someone who can help me is my answer....I went through 5 people each time I had an issue or need help, they were all on vacation or this is the best the week before I was going away I recieved an emai from a Terri Baxter. I am your new travel agent you need to book your excursion (THEY WERE BOOK TWO MONTH PRIOR!!!) AND here is the best, " i will be on JURY DUTY July 10th" which was the next day!!!!!! I had to call Globus myself and make sure that my addition excursions of $700 dollars were paid for. When you are booking a vacation you need help with detail and they gave NONE. I called Globus and ask how much Affordable Tours recieved for booking a trip, it is 10%......There was absoultly no service.... I called to speak toa supervisor which everyone is a supervisor...Monica Elkadira was the nastest person that I have ever spoke to, they are neither helpful or professional. I have been with the company several times and different agents, and I think that their price was very competitive. Their representatives were polite and friendly. However, I don't know if it was out of their carelessness, for a no. of times they did not realize they had to give you certain discounts. You as a customer have to research and find out what you are entitled to before you start talking with them about the price. Otherwise, you can easily be overcharged. Also, they do not list very clearly how the calculations are made but this has something to do with the company's system, I believe. They have great prices but we were very disappointed with their customer service. After the purchase was completed, our consultant never returned our calls. Other representatives had to handle our inquires. Our tour included ground transportation and our consultant never followed up with us for flight arrangements for the tour company. The dates on our trip insurance were incorrect. If you're a very experienced traveler and only concerned with price then I would recommend them. I would leave less than one star if I could. Terrible customer service. I booked a trip that was cancelled due to COVID-19. I found out my self through doing a simple web search, but no one from Affordable contacted me about it. After sending repeated emails- that was the way they requested contact due to high call volume- I got through on the phone. The person I spoke with was STILL unaware that the trip had been cancelled, even though I was staring right at the information on the website. Of course, they were very quick to state that NO refunds would be given, only a credit for later use. The problem is, will this travel agency last through the epidemic?? Or will they go out of business, taking my money with them? Good thing I have trip cancellation insurance, with a "cancel for no reason" clause, although I will still be out some of the money. Their own contract of service states that in the case of a cancelled trip, they will refund any funds paid. Guess not!! I even prepaid more than I needed to pay up front over and above the deposit, and they won't even refund that amount, which wasn't due to be paid yet in the first place. Lesson learned: Don't pay until the payment is due- if I had waited, they wouldn't have taken as much of my money. NEVER AGAIN with Affordable!! read more

Our travel agent failed to warn us of the refund and cancellation policies of the tour company they suggested - Trafalgar Tours. We were not informed of Trafalgar's Refund and Cancellation policies until after we paid our non-refundable deposit to Affordable Tours and made our final payment "in-full" to Trafalgar Tours. Had we been advised of Trafalgar's "no refund" policy, we would have most likely booked with another tour company. We booked an Italy tour through Affordable Tours with Trafalgar but unfortunately the tour was cancelled because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We were not notified of the cancellation by either Trafalgar or Affordable Tours; we only found out the tour was cancelled by doing an internet search. In fact, throughout the entire booking process with Affordable Tours we did not receive one status update regarding our tour. We contacted our travel agent at Affordable Tours and requested a refund. That's when we first learned of Trafalgar's "no refund" policy. We were told by Affordable Tours that there was nothing they could do for us since they too were forced to abide by Trafalgar's refund and cancellation policies. The agent sent us a copy of Trafalgar's policies and apologized for the lack of assistance. She suggested we contact Trafalgar. We did and were told that no refunds would be issued but that travel credits would be our only option. They outlined the restrictions and time constraints of the travel credit options but refused to discuss the possibility of a refund. We contacted Affordable Tours again and were told that our agent was no longer available to speak to us because the company was "restructuring." Affordable Tours failed to brief us and provide us with the necessary information we needed to make an informed decision about selecting a tour with Trafalgar. Since the travel credit options will not work for us we stand to lose over $7,000.00 and that includes a non-refundable deposit of $1,100.00 to Affordable Tours. Affordable Tours has known about Trafalgar's refund and cancellation policies for some time but made the corporate decision not to inform us of the possibility of potential problems. Our total loss including airfare will amount to more than $11,000.00. read more

The last few cruises cause me to write this review and warn people to find another company. We have used the same service rep, Dawn Bellis and she is the worst of the worst. Very gad at follow up and returning phone calls, she has forgotten to send travel documents causing us to pay to print them at a hotel abroad. She had us upgrade to a mini suite on a cruise because I wanted a larger balcony and we got a very small balcony. She forgot to send a payment reminder and Princess almost canceled us. I just went on the Vienna, Prague and Budapest tour and it was amazing. There were a lot of sights to see with our expert local guide as well as ample downtime to shop at the Christmas markets and have a coffee while resting. Affordable Tours made me experience stress free, educational, relaxing and exciting. We stayed at 4-5 star hotels with amazing continental breakfasts, where the staff was polite and English speaking. He was exceedingly helpful and could answer all our questions - either immediately, or shortly thereafter, He'd even suggest some alternative arrangements that would reduce the costs. The travel agent overcharged me on the credit card and quoted me for the superior plan A but actually booked me on the plan B that costs less. He was counting on me not checking and not finding out. My complaining to the agent didn't help and I was forced to travel on plan B without any compensation. They don't even have any customer service group and don't know what the customer service is! It was my first time with Affordable Tours. We spent weeks working out what we wanted to do in Europe and then picked an Affordable Tours offer from the tour provider Trafalgar Tours. Then we went through the booking process where we gave all of the information Affordable Tours wanted and were ready to pay. What came next was a real surprise: the salesman rang back and stated that HE HAD MADE A MISTAKE IN THE QUOTE and that the price on the tour had gone from $1425 per person to $1795. Yeah right!!! Whilst this may have been a 'mistake' (I am not sure of that though) I would have thought that the price quoted was the price and that Affordable Tours would stick to their quote! Apparently not....and I am left wondering if what happened was a con. Either way it was apparent that the agent was not very good. Everyone uses a travel agent to help them plan the best vacation and to know the ins and outs of the chosen destination and resort. This was not the case for our trip. Philip failed to share with us that the room choice we selected were not an option. Our resort didn't have connecting 2 bed in each rooms. We paid extra to have connecting rooms and wanted to have the 4 beds as it was 5 of us. We were celebrating a birthday and wanted to be together. When we arrived we were told this wasn't possible and bed options were not guaranteed. To keep the rooms connecting for our party, we had to take a king and two doubles. Not what we expected or wanted. Additionally, we were given transfers with our package to make it easier and more less costly. This was an outright falsehood. The bus that took us to our hotel, stopped at least 7 times before dropping us off, making the 30 minute trip take over an hour and 20 minutes. That's not how you want to spend your first few hours on an island paradise. To make this worse, we looked into taking a taxi back to the airport and found out it was only 31$ for the return ride to the airport for all of us. Not each....all of us for 31$ and we tipped him 7 $ so the total was only 38$ for 5 people making it less than 8$ apiece.....and only 25 minutes! Shouldn't our travel agent plan this for us? Or does he like the price to go up so his commission goes up? What we do on the vacation is our decision, but how we get there and where we stay was decided with the "help" of our agent. This will be the last time we book with him. It's his job to know and he didn't. read more

This was our first experience with Affordable Tours. Our agent, Steve Warren, never responded to our email messages or phone calls asking for his assistance with a few questions we had about details of the trip. We signed up with a group of eighteen friends for a 12 day Ireland tour. The tour itself was excellent, but I am giving the company one star due to our negative experience with Mr. Warren. Our CIE tour packet arrived late to his office. Instead of spending his time and the company's money to ship them overnight to each of us, Mr. Warren forwarded the box to one couple in our group who then had to quickly get them out to everyone, some of whom lived several hours away. Mr. Warren must have been unaware that included in this box was paperwork stating our names, how much we had paid, and the individual commissions he received for each of us. We discovered not only had some paid different prices, but his commission was almost a third of our total costs, or about $800 per person! We will never use Affordable Tours again. read more

We booked our honeymoon through Affordable Tours. We've never used a travel consultant or anything like that before, and I can't say we will again. Our travel consultant was awful about returning emails and answering our questions. I had requested information about parking via email on April 13th, and after not receiving a response, I emailed again requesting the parking information on June 19th... 2 months later. Since it's a little under 2 weeks since we sail, I requested more information regarding boarding passes etc. (as she said she would email me with all of the information after we made our final payment). We made our final payment Over a month ago I and I had heard nothing. I emailed her on August 18th requesting this information and she replied she would follow up when she was back in the office, as she was out that day. 6 days later, after STILL no response I sent a final email asking she please send us the information we need.. her response "you must create an account." Good thing I emailed her when I did or we probably wouldn't be sailing.. disappointed at the extreme lack of communication. Cash Road is a great address for this company. All they want is your cash and then no service after that. We wanted to take a December crusie with Royal Carribean Cruise Lines. After were watched the rated for days, we say the rates starting to go back up. All we wanted was an inside cabin. When we made our call to RCCL, we were told that there were no more inside cabins. We were then told that we could be put on a waiting list for this type of cabin and would be contacted if one became available. After a few more days of watching and waiting for a call for the waiting list we decided that we had to buy a different type of cabin at an additional cost of $580. So we called Affordabler tours to book it due to their special incentives of "dining dough" and free hotel rooms. We paid in full and that was all there was to it or so we thought. A few more days a we were online filling out our cruise paperwork and we found inside cabins being published on the RCCL website at the original rate of only $499. We called Affordable Tours (AFT) immediately to ask why we had not been called? Now here is the fun part. We were told that because we had paid in full on a higher rate cabin we were not entitled to any consideration of monies or credits. That was just the way the cruise industry has it set up. Now we send an email to RCCl and find they are using their "Best Price Gurantee" clause to avaiod us and any consideration. THis is not a part of the Best Price Clause. THis is a case of both RCCL and AFT screwing up and not contacting us about the wait list we were on due to the fact they already had our extra $580. THis is not our first crusie, actually it is our 5th with RCCL. We did not expect something for nothing, but we did expect some consideration by either RCCL or AFT. We did not even get the courtesy of a phone call from AFT management (Marilyn Minke) whom we had sent an email to about this situation. Also Mike Beauchamp of AFT, started out like he would be a great represenative for us, but when the problem occured all we got from him was excuses and "CYA" answers. Supposedly AFT had sent our complaint to RCCl and the local district manager. Again no response or contact of any type. Yes, we did go on our cruise, and no we did not have a great time as it was overshadowed by the fact that we had been ripped off by both RCCL and AFT. Our advise is to use most anyone except Affordable Tours in Stafford, Texas. Their number is 800-935-2620. As far as fact, we have all paperwork, emails, and other pertinent info about this avoidable mess. And yes we are filing a lawsuit against AFT, and RCCL for the $580. And no our atty fees are more than that, but we will also ask for those in damages and costs. As far as dining dough as an incentive, forget it. You must spend as much as you recieve to use it. And as far as the free rooms, we have never recieved them at all. ust another ploy to get our money and run we suspect. read more

I booked a trip to Ireland, and there are 14 of us going, at first there was 15. the Agent failed to tell me that if I have a certain amount of people going I would get a free trip, Instead she split the difference between us. that was the 1 st mistake. the 2nd one was she told us we could book our own flight but again failed to tell us that we would have to pay for the transfer fees. When she decided that the fee would be waived she only e-mailed one couple and I had to call her and asked her if that was for everyone. Before the fee was waived she told me what the big deal I was still saving money on the air fare. the 3rd mistake was she failed to tell us that we would have to leave the day before our trip to be there on the 1st. My brother in law asked me if we had to leave a day early. 4th mistake when I asked her how much a couple owed she included there $ 250.00 deposit. she said oh I thought they owed you that money. I said no and when I asked how much they owe I want the total they owe you. 5th mistake I asked her if my brother 2 children would be staying in there room and she said yes. Only to find out they have to book two rooms. Because 4 people can't stay in a room. And the biggest mistake is I e- mailed to speak to a manger and the agent got back to me and asked me what was wrong now.I told her I didn't want to speak to her I wanted a manger. The manger didn't get back to me that day. So on Friday I called and was told the manger don't get in till 10:30 so I waited a couple of hour and no call. When I called back I was told they don't put the manger right on the phone that they would call me back, The gentleman also told me he was personally walking the message over to the manger and I should be getting a call back. Well it is Monday the 6th and still no phone call back. I am really sorry I booked a trip with these people. they are the worst. Now maybe someone will get back to me. read more
