I had their minced meat kabob (Shami Kabob) and it came with basmati rice, salad and fantastic naan bread - it was super tasty and very filling and not expensive at all. In the past, I've paid for food which is far worse at a far higher price so I can tell you, you're getting a tasty bang for your buck here. It may not look fancy schmancy or anything but so what? If you don't want to eat here, they also do take-out. The service is also friendly and polite. Centrally located on Bank street, you can easily come here after work or after a night out. This is my third time ordering from this place in two weeks and it is a real gem! Paramount used to be my favourite middle-eastern restaurant but they constantly sent me my order without the side dish and did not issue a refund so I had to look for a new place. I tried many places before I ended up here and I am so glad I found it! I ordered their mixed platter, also later tried their mantu and shawarma and have to point out that they were all delicious! Their mixed platter came with 2 skewers, rice, naan and salad - super filling. Their tandoori shawarma was a bit spicy to my taste but overall was good too. The bolani was amazing, fresh ingredients and was hot when served. The chaplee kabob was delicious, good size and comes with lots of rice. The naan was freshly made as well. Food was good, ( the wrap was tasty and a bit unique, though I noticed that the list of ingredients on the menu didn't match what was in the wrap (though I think what's actually in the wrap is better than the menu)), decent portions and the prices were average. The guy working was quite friendly, though he definitely took his time filling orders which on the one hand was a bit frustrating, but on the other, I like to think it correlated with more care and attention being put into our food. Bonus points for it's location, as it's next to a side street with available parking during rush hour and they deliver. When I entered, the two guys working there were so passionate about their product and that their "shami" would taste even better than what I was looking for that I was sold, and took my chicken shami to go. I went here last night with friends. When you enter, the place comes across as a cafeteria, where you make your order and you can see a long line of food under glass as well as the cooking area. The establishment is very clean and brightly lit, with simple tables and decor on the wall. The folks working there are quite affable and hospitable as well, and I enjoyed talking to them for a bit as I was making my order. The lady brought us some hot tea at the end of our meal out of sheer kindness, too. I ordered the kofta (a mildly-spiced meatball in a lentil-tomato sauce) and a salad and sampled the potato-leek boolani (a flakey, stuffed savory Afghan pancake) and had some ferni (a pudding scented with rose water and topped with ground pistachios). Everything was delicious and fresh and I was pleased with what I got as well as the price tag. What a amazing restaurant! Been there a few times and would definitely go again. The rice is mouth watering and delicious, while the kabobs are scrumptious and flavourful. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. The price is affordable too. The next time I go to Ottawa, I want to go there. Just thinking about the food makes me hungry. Popped in on a whim today for an early dinner. Place wasn't too busy which is expected for a Sunday afternoon. I had a Kofta platter and my girlfriend had Lamb kabob. Both were very tasty. The sauce on the kofta was very good and neither of the meats were dry. Platter came with rice, salad and Afghan naan bread. As I said everything was very tasty and portions were very generous. 11-13 dollars for the platters, so quite reasonable for the amount of food. The care is obvious, food is not just slapped on a plate. Service wasn't amazing but not enough to prevent me coming back. Would definitely return! read more

We had the family platter with a substitution of lamb for one kabob for a couple of bucks more. Then platter is $50 and more than the four of us could eat. All of the meat was juicy and we enjoyed the side dishes. The kabobs were cooked after we ordered them so were very fresh. It looks like a cafeteria style, but they service on real china. read more
