This food is too expensive for the portions offered. I will not return. I ordered an entree that came in the size of an appetizer.

If I could give no stars I would. We had the Ox tails. This poor ox died for nothing. The food tasted terrible it was bland.

It's a long distance…read morefrom home but it was a mild weather day in December so we decided to make the drive on 12/9/24. We ring the bell and a young boy let us in and we sat down. It was awhile before someone came to tend to us but as my husband was explaining to me, in the African culture, you go to them to tell them what you want, not the other way around. They were in the back busy cooking and preparing, there is a open window where you can order. We got to meet the owner who the restaurant is named after, Anayo. He was awesome! I wanted to order the fried rice or the coconut rice but those are large orders for several people which are only for call in but they don't indicate that on the menu. I got to order the last meat pie they had and OMG, I'm still dreaming about how good it was! I ordered the jollof rice and told them mild spice but it was still a bit too hot for me but in Nigeria, that is how they spice their food, LOL. It comes with goat meat and fish. I loved the fish as it was flavorful, crispy and delicious! I will make sure to order that fish again. Hubby got the Nkwobi made with cow feet, scotch bonnet pepper, onion, palm oil Spinach and seasonings. It was so hot but he enjoyed every bit of it. Anayo told us that they have only been open for 1 year. I hope they continue and thrive. I got to taste a strawberry yogurt drink that they had in the frig that was in a 1 liter container. I really enjoyed that also. You get the bill after you pay - they told us our total for us to pay. Not used to that but they aren't the first business that I've experience to do that. Area was very quiet that evening. Thank you Nayo's - see you soon!

I am not vegetarian however many of my friends are and they never disappoint. I sat at the bar with my daughter before heading over to see a show at Aragon and the entire staff was friendly, conversational, and pleasant. Great cocktails, great food, great food, great vibe. There was water immediately, but then there simply wasn't a server. When he finally arrived (from outside the restaurant?) it was close to 8. Nice guy, but we were hungry. Placed our order and waited. And waited. He finally came by to say the food would be out soon, as others around us were served and lots of carryout orders flew out the door. Our too tiny appetizers came, but nothing more. We waited and remained hungry. We asked him to check, and we waited. When the food finally arrived it was past 8:30. We had ordered the four person platter, for four people, but it simply wasn't enough. We wanted to order more, but again there was no waiter available and a sad realization that it might take another hour. We paid and left. Bottom line is that we arrived hungry, we sat hungry for over an hour, and we left unsatisfied.

Shokran Moroccan Restaurant is proof that a place does not have to be fancy to be unforgettable…read more The restaurant is a simple, comfortable space filled with Moroccan decor, and the entire experience feels rooted in authenticity. The owner, who is directly from Morocco, has a straight-faced demeanor but is genuinely one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Now let's talk about the food: next level. The Lamb Casablanca and Lamb Marrakesh are absolute standouts and easily some of the best dishes on the menu. This is home-style food made with real care. Every bite tastes intentional, proud, and full of heart. This is a great spot whether you are eating alone, on a date, or with a group of friends. Anyone who appreciates thoughtfully prepared food will leave happy. Just keep in mind it is cash only and BYOB. Bonus: you can also order it on Uber Eats.

I should have given 3.5 or 4 stars for this spot but due to their cash only policy, only 3 stars…read more The restaurant serves Moroccan food, with a wide range of choices of Tajine, Couscous and grilled stuff. In general, the food here were not pricy. Moreover, everyday it has some discounts, e.g., on Tajine Thursday the Tajine dishes are only $15. The restaurant also had many local decors. Sitting inside really made me feel as if I was having a meal in Morocco. I ordered the beet salad and Lamb Fez (lamb shank Tajine). Both dishes were generous in size. The salad tasted fresh but lacked flavor. I could hardly taste the acidity of lemon juice. The Tajine was really new to me. I only had chicken Tajine before and the ingredients were quite different from this one: the lamb shank was cooked with prunes, cinnamon, honey and caramelized onions, so that it had lots of sweetness (in fact, a bit too sweet for me). It was topped with some hard boiled eggs and almonds. Try blending the egg yolk with the sauce/broth and having it with the lamb. The almonds added some crisp ones to the fork-tender meat. Food came out in reasonable time but other than that, the service was so-so. While there was an ATM machine, when I asked about payment methods, they did not inform me of it; nor did my server inform me of the cash-only policy. I ended up getting cash from a shopping center ~1 mile from the restaurant...
