The service was fine as it was empty inside and I was the only patron. I ordered the whole grouper with Jolla rice and spinach (dieting or I'd have gotten the plantain). This was my first time having Jolla rice, it was ok, I don't get the hype. The fish was delicious. Perhaps visit later in the day or early evening as I image it can get quite lively. The restaurant was very clean and attractive, warm colors and welcoming vibe. I will go back to explore more west African dishes. read more

I ate here the other week with a friend and had a good experience. Inside was slow for a weekend lunch service, but the food was worth it. Music was a bit too loud for the size of the restaurant and we had a bit of trouble hearing one another right next to each other. Waiter was extremely helpful and gave us some helpful recommendations. We ate a good assortment of food from the red snapper to the egusi to goat pepper soup to jollof rice, and everything was delicious. Well worth the trip to try some flavorful food. Our server was lack-luster and just served ... no extra smile, helpful suggestions, never came back to see if we were okay. The okra stew was good but $23.00 for a very small shallow gravy-like soup bowl I was a little shocked (maybe because I make it at home ... idk). My cousin had the veggie plate at $18.00. Amazing African food! I've always seen this place but finally had the courage to try it when my father invited me. The food was sooo good. I ordered vegetable fried rice, chicken wings, and plantains. Great prices, fresh, quality ingredients and friendly staff. The owner was so generous and told us a little about the restaurant. I usually have good experiences with this establishment but my last one was horrible. Loud music with pornographic scenes were playing on the televisions, the waiter was beyond rude ( criticizing my meal of choice, what employee would do that). The food was awful, I ordered Egusi and it tasted like medicine. The jerk chicken was a soggy and tasteless mess. When we paid for our meal, the waiter gave my child a paper receipt as if were a toy. As I instructed my child to give me the receipt, the waiter intervened saying that he gave it her. As politely as I could, I told him my child doesn't need to play with paper. The waiter then preceded to ask my husband if something was wrong with me, when he actually was the rude and intervening person the entire time. I finally had to shout at him saying "my child and I are fine" and believe me I wanted to go off on that mannerless young man for real. He finally got the hint and left, looking stupid in the face, because I called him out on his sh*t. Also, this waiter was also shouting and cursing with a man and woman who shortly dined after us. I believe this young man was the owner's nephew and if they are reading this, please remove him from your waitstaff, he is pulling your reputation down to hell. I've been to the continent of Africa and have NEVER encountered customer service like this.
