Mar was amazing and the food always good. Come to the east for some good food from the islands

So I ordered from here through Uber eats. After you order from Uber eats they always ask you how your food was they ask you to rate the food. I've stopped rating on uber eats because the food from so many places is just standard it's normal it's nothing special it's not even worth taking the time to write about it!!! But then I found this place. I was in a mood for some spicy wasn't feeling well and needed some spices to get my Blood flowing lol I wanted some real jerk chicken not some punk jerk chicken there's so many restaurants that serve mediocre jerk chicken because they have to bring down the seasonings to appease people who can't handle the spices and the heat. Oh no not this place!!! This jerk chicken was spicy very spicy but it was very good it was very flavorful. It had a good taste like it had been grilled or smoked not just cooked in the oven. I got the small side and that was about three pieces of chicken it was more than enough. It came with a standard side of peas and rice and cabbage. I opted for no cabbage and more rice. I love love plantains but they have to be right these were the most beautiful plantains I've seen in years. They were sweet juicy and ripe. The other side I got was mac & cheese. When I order macaroni and cheese from restaurants I don't expect it to be good not to pat myself on the back but most people don't make macaroni and cheese the way I do I make it very cheesy and it probably cost them too much money to make it the way I want it so I wasn't expecting a lot from this macaroni and cheese. But I was pleasantly surprised and it didn't have a lot of cheese in it but it had flavor and this was the first time I've had spicy macaroni and cheese I guess this is this restaurant's signature way they make their macaroni and cheese , which I can appreciate. they didn't just throw something together they made it the way they want it to make it. (I'm giving it 2star due to DoorDash) I was looking forward to giving this place a try, moving here from south Florida, I've been missing island food. My order arrived through DoorDash in a timely fashion, but much to my surprise my oxtail was loaded-- loaded with bones and heavy on juice. How much juice you say? Enough to fill 4 Ramekins-- in the bottom of my bag. I have included pictures of my before and after plate. You can barely til the difference between the two... this is a shame, the amount of bones that my container held. I am very disappointed with what I received. I definitely let DoorDash know what happen, but I fear that with out me expressing my experience here on Yelp that this place will get away with this kind of service. The chicken soup was perfect for a fall cold I was trying to get over. Very flavorful and a large cup for only 6 bucks. Also they have some tasty jerk chicken. You can get the extra spicy sauce on the side. Perfect! read more

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars- I certainly would. We received our order cold and also found two hairs in both separate plates. The rice had absolutely no flavor and the gravy could barely be considered that of "gravy". The jerk chicken (still pink in some areas-undercooked) tasted like someone poured a bottle of vinegar on top and nothing more. Terrible food. Waste of money. Jerk Chicken Tacos please! I'm officially a fan of this place. Although I've only had one item from their menu, they offer a variety Caribbean dishes like jerk shrimp, curry goat and more. I've been here about 3 times and the wait times for your food vary. I came around lunch time and it took about 15 minutes while the next visit, I came in the evening and it took 30 minutes. I ordered jerk chicken cheese fries. Found this place randomly while in the Decatur area. Those fries were so freaking good that in couldn't move afterwards. I had a food-gasm for the first time in over a year. The fresh cilantro and tomatoes in the cheese only made it better. It does take a while because it's cooked to order but it was definitely worth the 20 minute wait. Best meal for under $9. read more

This spot is the BEST!!! My initial experiences weren't the best but that has since changed! I have become family with this establishment and I am grateful! Prime example of becoming family is that my birthday was this past Wednesday but I came in, placed my order and was prepared to pay. The owner told me to wait a second. She came back with the meal and said it was on the house! That alone lets me know how valued my business is to them and how they remember me as a regular patron!! I've come here quite a few times to grab lunch whenever I'm in the area. It's located in the same plaza as the Boys & Girl's club off Snapfinger Road, so it's pretty easy to find. I must love their jerk chicken tacos because I order them all the time! Lol They're served on a small flour tortilla and come with plenty of shredded cheese, onions, cilantro, and tomatoes. They're not stingy with ingredients here lol. I usually order 2/$5. I'm pretty stuffed after that! I've never encountered a long line but the food service usually takes about 10-15 mins. Ordered shrimp tacos through door dash. Waited a hour and items were missing from my order. I had to drive all the way back and the clerk just push the items to me like that was sufficient after wasting my time and money. If you're out and you place a delivery be very careful on how you open up your bag. The food was spilled out and when you lift it up surprise a big hole at bottom of tray. They need to do better, they could've placed foil inside the styrofoam trays as this can cause cancer, and other health problems. People take risks eating out everyday, especially when we eat using styrofoam to go trays. But hey why make the matter worse or expedite the process when it can be simply avoided by using foil or other options for this solution. The option to use styrofoam has been eliminated in New York for all restaurants maybe that law should be passed here in Georgia. I'm from Brooklyn and I've resides here in Georgia for a few months now and this is my 1st experience ever encountering a food melt-through. So yeah they might want to invest in some new to go trays as this is not only a serious health factor, it's unprofessional, messy, and most of all useless because the food eventually and literally busted right through. I've been coming to this location for years. Today I received horrible customer service. The staff were rude. I placed my order and others were serviced before me. I often come back because the food is good. But after I was treated rudely by the workers, I was treated even worse by the family members sitting outside smoking weed. They tended to other patrons over me, even though I was there first. The prices on the menu are not accurate. I was charged $40 for 2 oxtail plates even though the menu said they were $15.99. I still paid my money and was treated like shit. This is the worst tasting Ceribbean food I've ever tasted. The chicken wasn't clean it had fat under the skin. My rice was rice soup. The gravy was very thin and the Mac and cheese looked and taste like craft macaroni and cheese. I don't not recommend this place to no one. When I first started going to this spot the food was really good and the customer service was good. However, as time has gone by, the food quality became hit or miss. Twice when I ordered through Door Dash the food was sub par but I didn't complain. Once The whole serving of rice was hard and tHe second time the Rasta pasta wasn't good. Though the proprietor made another serving the next day, I couldn't eat it because it was extremely salty. I didn't complain. There was also a third time that my food wasn't quite right and I didn't complain that time either. So on June 24th I ordered jerk chicken. It seems that recently I was not being given meaty pieces of chicken. There would be a layer of chicken then bones. Today the cabbage was really withered but I told that it was cooked a little longer but I've never had cabbage from them that was withered, dry to the degree that it looked like two day old cabbage. I've spent a lot of money supporting this black owned business and should have been given a completely new plate. Instead I was met with poor customer service as if I was wrong for wanting good quality food and was given more withered cabbage and rice. Im very disappointed I come here everytime Im in town from Las Vegas and usually love the food. Today was not that day the chicken we ordered was extremely dry and inedible. I requested white meat jerk chicken lunch plate with no sauce on the rice and peas I got sauce which I dont like however the plantain were good. Even my husband and granddaughter thought their chicken was dry and they had jerk tacos. The callaloo was very salty. I often come to C&R Caribbean Jerk . I came by and the owners daughter was at the front counter . My mom was ordering something to eat and she asked the girl a question and there girl got an attitude with my mom . I think it is a very bad idea for people to hire teenagers especially if they don't know what they are doing . The food is good but the daughter of the owner needs to go .
