Glad to have stumbled upon this gem! Generous portions and full of flavor. The restaurant space is beautiful and staff are friendly - rare for African restaurants in my experience. I'd definitely come back here next time I'm visiting the area!

Definitely the cleanest and best African Restaurant I've been to in the United States. The owner is extremely nice, food is "A"mazing, and the vibe is everything! I'm a regular at this point

Dry rice, fried chicken and sweet plantains.

Food was fresh and tasty. Nice portions! Women at the front was very sweet and kind. I'll be back to order their collard greens and rice.

    Cassava Leaf. Soooo

I ordered mix meat stew with jollof and received literally 2 pieces of edible meat and 1 non edible piece. Egusi had a weird taste but garri was perfect. The food was already packed up so I guess if I had stopped and checked before leaving, I could have asked for the rest of the meal because there is NO WAY this is what would be served if I was dining in.

I went in and he had already gotten us a table. Our server came over pretty quickly and took our drink orders. I wanted to taste some authentic African beer. My friend suggested an Orijin or a Trophy Premium Lager beer. I ordered the Trophy Lager and my friend ordered the Orijin. I later found out his drink was not an actual beer, but some kind of mixture of alcohol flavored with African herbs and fruits. We took a small taste of each other's drinks. Mine tasted like a standard lager, really. We reviewed the menu and I described what I had a taste for. My friend suggested that I get the Jollof Rice with Chicken, and that's what I ordered. He ordered the Pounded Yam with Egusi soup. My food came out quickly. My friend's order took longer than expected, but he told me to go ahead and start eating, so I did not wait. The food was very good, well seasoned, and had a nice spice kick. My friend's dish came out about 15 minutes later. It must have been a specialty item since it took so long. Once it arrived, he enjoyed it, even though I think he had ordered it before. The restaurant was a little empty, with just a few other patrons inside. While we enjoyed lunch, we listened to some good, authentic Afrobeats music in the background. I even Shazamed a couple of songs while we were sitting there. They also had an area set up with an Instagramable photo wall and a DJ booth. The restaurant itself was very clean and they also had a full bar. I will definitely come back to try some other authentic menu options.

At the time of…read morethis writing I was starting to give up hope on my search for quality like home Nigerian food in Atlanta. I've tried Ike's (not impressed), Little Lagos (trash), Cafe Songhai (OK), Toyin (not consistent). I decided to take a chance on this place because of the menu. I checked out their Instagram and saw some activity and pictures so I said why not? Pricing was reasonable. Customer service was BEYOND. My contact person was Yemisi and not only is she courteous but very pleasant and communicative from time of order placed to delivery. There is a delivery fee of $15. Pickup is in Gwinnett county area if wanting to avoid the delivery fee. When you place your order plan for a 2-3 day window for delivery. Packaging was EXCELLENT. Slight spillage from the stew but it's inevitable and overall packaging was great. I loved the baked goods especially the sausage roll and scotch eggs which packed a kick in heat with the spice level of the sausage. I appreciated that. I love spicy food. It was a slow burn (like black pepper spice not habanero peppers spice) so don't think it's spicy. Sausage rolls 5/5 just look at the beauties in the picture and they taste so good Meat pies 4/5 the filling is very soft like a baby could eat it but I loved the crust. I'm a fan of ground meat but not minced meat if that makes sense. Flavor was great though. Jollof rice 4/5 I was expecting more spice. I would order this again but request more heat. If you top it with the goat meat stew this will also help. Goat meat stew My favvvvv! So good. The type of stew you would find at Nigerian parties and weddings etc. Sooo good, spicy and flavorful and the meat was tenderrrr like I love. Would order this again and again and again in a heartbeat. Scotch eggs The showstopper! Listen I LOVE Scotch eggs and the way they made these. Let me tell you right now, hands down, the BEST Scotch eggs I've had the pleasure of eating. Sooooo good! The crunch of the exterior, the slow heat/slow burn of the sausage surrounding the perfectly boiled egg. WOW!!!!

Very dark and not many traditional tables and chairs. I came around lunch time and there were quite a few ladies in beautiful traditional dress (it was Christmas Eve). I had called ahead and ordered takeout and when I walked in I was promptly acknowledged. Food arrived in the quoted time (25 minutes). Nigerian cuisine is not one I'm incredibly familiar with, but I have tried many of the standard dishes. Today I went with White Rice and Red Stew, which comes with plantains. It was delicious. Piping hot and incredibly fresh. The spice level was perfect. Just spicy enough but in no way overpowering. The plantains added a sweet element which played beautifully against the spice of the stew. The only place they lost points was the price on the website is not the price I was charged. $19 on the website and I was charged $25 but maybe they just haven't updated to reflect current prices. Regardless, I really enjoyed my food and can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. Edit: Take note, it doesn't say "The Island Grill" on the sign. It says "The African Grill."

It was my first time having shito. The Jollof wasn't my favorite, unfortunately, but it finally settled the debate for me once and for all - I'm team Nigerian when it comes to Jollof. Although the Efo Riro was nicely flavored, the mix of collard greens did not compliment this dish as I thought it would. I prefer it with spinach and from my Nigerian food connect (Mina's Jollof in LA). Hers can't be beaten! Black Eye Peas were unique, and the plantains were cooked nicely. Now for the ambiance: We were one of two tables during the day, so having the place for ourselves felt nice. It also looked tidy. Our waitress was a sweetheart. The pounded yam was smooth and not too thick. I had fun scooping up the Egusi in the Fufu with my hands. Both together was an enjoyable flavor and texture combo. The Beef Suya was good as well, a nice meat appetizer. The beef was cooked well done which some people may not like, but I enjoyed it since I grew up eating my steak that way. It paired very well with the spice blend and raw onions. I also had the Ghanaian Jollof Rice and that was not my most favorite dish due to the flavor. Not my cup of tea, but the rice was cooked well. I also liked the side plantains. The interior is nicely ornate and comfy. The service here was also super great and my assigned server was very personable.
