We have been inside this place before for other events (RV shows come to mind) but now my son it taking soccer classes here so I had a reason to pay more attention. Upon walking in there is a nice sports gear store, then an open area with lots of comfy couches and what seems to be a bar to order food (perhaps while you are waiting for your soccer games to start, or to relax afterwards). Our son is taking a toddler soccer class and I mean that in the most general sense of the word. Basically, the kids (ages 2-4 it seems) run around, go through obstacle courses, kick balls here and there, play with hula hoops, sing songs, and learn social skills. It is a fun experience, though certainly it can occur other places besides here. The instructor really impressed me by memorizing the kids' names without prompting by the second class. How he did it, I don't know. I don't like soccer so I really can't judge their soccer facilities. But as kid's events go, this seemed to be exactly what was advertised and our son had fun running around and playing with the other kids. read more

I signed my 2yr old up for their kids soccer program this past fall. There were lots of time options, the coach was very friendly and easy going. Over all this was a good value compared to other class options for the age. My kid had fun running around with peers, playing games and continued to develop gross motor and coordination skills. The only down side is the class is very repetitive and near the end he lost interest in some of the games. I ended up chasing him around the field trying to get him to participate. I've only been here for kids birthday parties so my review just covers that aspect, not the team sports facilities downstairs. Even though the vibe there is dim and grim, the kids really do love the hell out of the bounce facilities, that is, the inflated slides, boats, and castles on the second level. For the better part of 2 hours these 3, 4, and 5 year olds jumped, hurled themselves and belly flopped all over the facility. It was quite an awesome sight to behold actually. After bouncing the kids get to eat pizza and snacks which Afrim's provides for a fee. The quality is fairly average; gets the job done for the little ones, though adults with a discerning palate may balk. In the end, if you're looking for a nice and easy spot for your kid to bave a birthday party, Afrim's could be a good choice. If you're a parent who's kid was invited to a party there, take heart; there's a full bar downstairs. read more

Indoor sports complex catering in particular to soccer and club players, but with other facilities (weight room, adult sports bar, video games) to spread the demographic from little kids to the workout crowd. It is sui generis in the CRUST, being the first and biggest full-sized field facility and having started expanding on its current site. We can't comment on the facilities at large as an athletic club, as we only ever come here as invitees for kid birthday parties, but they do a reasonable job on that end. Bouncy houses on one level, then downstairs to the soccer field for supervised games run by young twenty-somethings with enough energy to keep up with the kids for a few hundred laps. The birthday packages include the inevitable party room with cardboard pizza. This is the third such place we've been to in the area for an indoor sports-party-activity birthday fete, and the bouncy houses push it above average for the genre, and astroturf soccer fields are nicer than tennis courts for the kiddie games, but I still can't quite feel it in my bones to elevate 'em up to four stars. Maybe we'll need to sample the adult beverages at the sports bar next time to lubricate our rating. read more

My daughter has been taking soccer classes at Afrims for about 4 yrs now. This was proven a great way to teach her the skills she needed to play recreational soccer. Up to about 4 months ago we continued to use Afrims for weekend classes on the off season of her playing rec soccer. My daughter also does other weekend recreational activities and we alternate them according to season. . Recently Afrims has changed their sessions from approximately 8 weeks to 13 weeks. This not only hiked prices of the sessions, it also makes it impossible for her to alternate weekend activities to include soccer, due to the commitment. For example my daughter will take 8 weeks of soccer then 8 weeks of skating/swimming then 8 weeks of soccer. When having to sign up for a 13 week session we have to chose not to do another activity. Since there are other soccer facilities that still have 8 week sessions and or pay as you go classes. We will no longer be going to Afrims. I'm sure this is a way for Affirms to make money, however I believe that they will end up losing patronage in the long run. read more

Afrim's owns that large inflatable maggot-like shape one sees off Route 7. Young soccer teams play there. In between games, the little buggers steal unattended iPods. Parents may drink alcohol at the small bar while they wonder what has happened to their dreams. read more

Low quality refs, fields in poor condition and the price gouging is unbelievable. Afrims survives on name alone and because there is no real competition or viable choices. If you can go to the sports plex instead that's the way to go. read more

I HATE going to birthday parties here with my kids.It always is dirty, dingy, and who know how often those bounce houses are cleaned. And its so loud! After the last one, I recommend everyone NEVER to have one here. Afrims staff lost the birthday gift we brought before the birthday boy ever saw it. The staff member took the gif tfrom us and directed us to the party, but we never saw the present again. The most annoying thing about it is that the follow up about it was all me calling them and no one calling me back for days! They really need some lessons in customer service. All it would take is a phone call and an offer of reimbursement to make me happy. But so far, not a word. read more

Poor quality service,expensive prices to play(110$) for 9games and soccer referees that work there are people that have very low knowledge about the game of soccer. People are allowed to drink beer before,after,and during the game(which is why there's fights every night). I love playing soccer, but I would never play again at afrims because there is no point of paying over 100$ to have a 10pm game with refs that drink and txt during your game and miss every call. Everyone is slowly starting to realize how bad and unprofessional afrims sports really is. read more
