It's literally so close to the airport (for perfect transportation) but it's not too loud. We were never disturbed. The kids thought it was really cool to see the big planes. The lobby was stunning. I loved seeing the live plants. This hotel felt more of like an experience. We loved the pond in the courtyard with the koi fish. Cons: Our room didn't have a microwave. The sheets were crisp and clean but reminded us of wax paper. They made a ton of noise with every twist and turn. The pool had a lot of algae so we didn't swim. So that's a bummer. Breakfast wasn't included only if you wanted to pay more.

I was blown away by the new lobby area and it's modern and inviting setup. The layout of the hotel can be like a very big maze since there is enough space to host multiple events or one very large one. My overnight room was in the mansion section which I appreciated being so close to the front desk. The room was well setup and the bed was probably one of the most comfortable I've slept on recently in a hotel. The one item that did hit a snag was the ice machines didn't seem to be working the first night. We tried several. From a conference planner side/. I found the staff to be very easy to work with and any changes were quickly accommodated. The food was good and they were very careful with the meals for our celiac/gluten free folks. I hope to be hosting other events here in the very near future.

Our studio room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of surfaces and storage nooks. Good kitchenette with a trio of glasses, dishes and flatware. Full refrigerator / duel range cooktop. Large microwave. We were in town for a wedding and will likely not have an opportunity to stay there again. But for a long weekend, this was a wonderful little home away from home for us. Would recommend.

I was looking for a hotel near the Albany airport to spend almost a week in for work. Since the…read moreMarriott Albany was the highest "tier" Marriott hotel near the airport, I selected it. Having stayed there once, I've selected the nearby Courtyard for my next stay, however. Let's start with the good. The rooms are pretty nice. They've been refurbished, so they have lots of outlets, nice fixtures, and the mattress is comfy. The temperature control worked. No real complaints about the room itself. I also appreciated the airport shuttle, which was on command and speedy both times I used it and even took me to a nearby restaurant one night. The bad: Other than the rooms themselves (which are the most important part), the rest of the hotel is incredibly dated and old. It feels run down. The website also advertises multiple restaurants, but it's really just one for dinner and one for breakfast. And even though I booked my room with breakfast included, no one seemed to know what I was talking about and only after my work travel agent called did they give me a single breakfast coupon, despite having booked five nights. When I used my breakfast coupon, they ended up burning what I ordered (French toast) and did not have enough time to make me a replacement, so I wasted it on a cup of oatmeal. I asked if I could pay extra to get upgraded to the concierge lounge, but they were unhelpful and said they did not take reservations or adjust reservations in person. After my first night, I let the front desk know that none of the streaming services seemed to work and if they could send an engineer up to my room while I was out for the day. When I returned back they still didn't work, so I asked the front desk and they said it was down for the whole hotel. The front desk staff in general were not super helpful, though at least one just seemed new.

The bed was dented in, the fridge was very humid and warm which was less than fortunate since my food went bad. There were dirty glasses in my room and the gym felt very dusty and humid. My biggest complaint is the WiFi - the wifi was down for myself and co workers. We needed to have Marriott connect our ip address per device. I would say the 1 good part of the trip was the free water bottles.

From the very beginning I knew I wanted to be on the river in Troy, so the moment I toured the venue and met Maria, I felt an instant sense of warmth and genuine care. The space is absolutely beautiful, with the charm and character of a historic building paired with the stunning backdrop of the Hudson River. It provided the perfect mix of elegance and uniqueness we were looking for. The personal staff we had the day of the wedding was incredible! They made the entire day flow so smoothly and made sure we didn't have to worry about a thing. And the food... was SO good! Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. Choosing the Hudson Candy Factory was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I can't thank Maria and Ameila enough for their kindness, attention to detail, and the support they gave us from start to finish. The building itself is impressive, although maybe not quite as impressive as the castle-looking building next door. Our party of seven settled in at the bar as there otherwise did not seem to be a large enough table for all of us to gather around in either the main lounge area or a small room off to the side. The dark wood paneled walls, large fireplace, assortment of easy chairs, couches, and high desktop table gave off a feeling of warmth and welcoming. The friendly bartender introduced herself (sorry I've forgotten her name) and informed us that spirit-wise, the bar was capable of preparing the standard, traditional drinks like Manhattans, martinis, etc. All beers were poured from cans, and at my request, she recited the names of about six that were available. I don't believe anyone in our party inquired about the wines that were available. The building simply calls out for an explanation of its history. Upon our request, the bartender offered to provide either the "brief" or "full" option. We requested the full history. She was obviously well up to the task. You would be amazed at the variety of things you could learn here. Just to touch on a few key topics that were mentioned, consider Alexander Hamilton's wife, puffed rice, Bab-o cleanser (cue up the jingle), Bishop Gibbons, and an orthopedic surgeon. I don't know what the normal food arrangements are in the Lounge. I'm guessing that our out-of-town hosts requested some snacks for us as a few bowls appeared with mixed nuts, crackers and cheese, fresh grapes, humus, and warm pretzel/croissant rolls, and a plate of prosciutto wrapped cream cheese. Overall, the atmosphere here is simply friendly and inviting. I think it will become an occasional gathering place for our local friends when looking for a place that is quiet and relaxing.
