If I could assign zero stars, I would. We hired AFS to encapsulate our crawlspace because we trusted their expertise and believed their recommendations would protect our home from moisture issues. Before the work began, we were told there was only minor mold present and that remediation wasn't necessary because the encapsulation would take care of it. We relied on that professional guidance when making our decision. After the work was completed, we discovered extensive mold growth beneath our home--so severe that it required more than $7,000 in professional remediation. Beyond the financial hit, this raised serious concerns about our family's health due to prolonged exposure. After I left my initial review, Ray, the general manager, reached out. I hoped this meant AFS was willing to work toward a fair resolution. Instead, he maintained that because they believed nothing was wrong with the installation, the company bore no responsibility for what happened. Although we were invited to share what would make things right, no solution or support was ever offered. What made the situation even more frustrating was that Ray never offered to have anyone inspect the encapsulation or verify the quality of the work. Instead, he questioned the credibility of the independent mold remediation company we hired and repeatedly emphasized that AFS is the "number one encapsulation company in the United States." The conversation felt less about addressing our concerns and more about defending the company's reputation. We asked AFS to help cover the cost of remediation because we had followed their recommendations and were left with a significant and unexpected expense. Even if they disagreed with our request, we expected some effort to investigate the issue or meet us halfway. Instead, they declined entirely and showed no interest in evaluating their own work. Most concerning was the lack of urgency or care regarding the condition of our crawlspace and the potential health risks to our family. We went from being told there was only minor mold to dealing with a widespread problem after their work was completed. Yet there was no effort to understand what changed or whether their installation played a role. That response speaks volumes. A company's true character isn't revealed when everything goes smoothly--it's revealed when problems arise. In our case, AFS showed a clear lack of accountability, empathy, and customer care. If you value integrity and accountability, think carefully before hiring AFS. We trusted them with our home, and when things went wrong, they chose not to stand behind their work or their customers. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY for your foundation repair. they will pressure you into an agreement by offering a discount available only if you will agree to signing an agreement right away. that should be red flag number one. the sales rep gets defensive when mentioning competition, red flag number two. after failure to send hard copies of the agreement till after the workers have shown up is another red flag . prior to the installation crew showing up I was checking on canceling the agreement but then they appeared the next morning. The installation crew although being nice were not equipped to do the work. By that I mean they did not have the appropriate tools to complete their task. their supervisor was worthless in offering a solution and put the responsibility on me the homeowner to remedy the situation . The problem was a root. they jacked up the area 1/2" out of the 2 1/2" needed and said that was all they could do. then they buried their jacks picked up their stuff and left. I told them I was not happy with the job and would not sign off on their paperwork. they replied that they would let the office know. Next few minutes after they left I received a request from the lender to release funds to pay them in full with no other option I reluctantly released the payment . This was a few months ago and now I have even more cracks in my interior walls. I will not call them to come make any adjustments due to the fear of them making it worse. That was $16,800.00 wasted. Take all negative reviews like mine very serious and find someone else. I wish that I would have. By the way a rating of one star is one to many! read more

Really easy consultation and install of our crawl space encapsulation. Punctual and cleaned up after. Shawn Fleck came out for the one year inspection and answered all of our questions and did a thorough check of the system. Prior to getting the encapsulation we had a lot of humidity issues leading to our wood floors crowning. After the system ran for a couple of weeks it was almost completely back to normal which was more than we hoped for. Definitely recommend. read more

Getting the feeling that the dishonesty ratings may be correct. Changed quotes and assessment without justification. Workmen do not really seem to know what they are saying or stick with what structural engineers tell them is needed. My wrap around porch is cracked and settling. The brick facade has begun to separate and sag. I couldn't find a local contractor specializing in this area. A called AFS and got a quote for the repair. The job will be two stages. piers and lifting. The pier installation crew arrived today. Kevin called me this morning with an arrival time. He, David and Jordan arrived and got right to work. The crew was very polite and professional. They took great care operating their machinery around the yard and structure. I was very pleased with their work. We got quite a bit of lifting with the pylons. They took great care as they lifted the concrete. I should have called AFS years ago. Thank you Kevin, David and Jordan for your hard work. I know all of that driving makes for a long day. I would absolutely recommend this crew! Update: Nathan and Randall came out today and pumped the poly. These guys are professionals. They were very quick and efficient, cleaned up the work space and were on their way. My mother had some work done by AFS this summer. The team used a large auger to drill into the ground approximately a foot away from the outside walls of her home, clipping a sewer line in the process. The foreman immediately noticed it, judging by the look on his face at the time, but never said anything about it. The holes where filled in when the job was completed but nothing was ever said about the damage that they did. Soon after, this area showed 'water' collecting on the surface. Mom concluded this must just be because of the high water table in her area. A few weeks late when I inspected the area, I took one whiff of it and knew it was sewer related. In late summer, mother called a local plumber to have the issue inspected and resolved. They concluded that the problem was definitely related to the foundation repairs done by AFS, specifically the auger making contact with the plumbing line. She called AFS and explained the damage and the costs to repair it; that was done BY THEIR WORKERS. AFS said that they would cut her a check to cover her costs to the plumbers, which she had already paid. This was 7 weeks and multiple phone calls ago, with the literal answer coming from Jake as, "The check is in the mail". Small claims case and BBB complaint to be filed soon. AFS: 1. Shoddy, lazy work that does more damage than good, 2. Crew & foreman who do not speak up to acknowledge their mistakes/damage, 3. Unwillingness to make good on their company's wrongs, 4. Lies to you directly! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS COMPANY. GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY! Do not be fooled by their large advertising campaign. They are NOT the only game in town!
