i usually have a pretty good time when i come here, and i've been going here every so often for…read moreprobably the last 18 years or so. i was in a league here when i was in middle school and usually had a fun time, and now i still continue to come here with friends but now instead of sodas we drink beer and pick out songs on the internet juke box. i've never had an issue with the staff, they've always seemed nice. i haven't had food from here in a while but i remember it being good when i was a kid, although i had a burger here a few years back that i was underwhelmed with. last time i went the yuengling on tap had a pretty bad taste to it (and i love yueng), so i'd suggest going with something bottled or canned from the bar. as for the lanes themselves, there's been a lot of times where i felt i should have had a strike but then one pin remained standing. my friend and i would blame the lane itself but honestly i really don't know if there's any truth to it being the lane's fault haha. there's usually an ok amount of people here, not too crowded, which is a plus. but i've found that when i'm next to another party here they seem like nice people with good bowling etiquette (as in, don't walk up to the lane the same time the person next to you does). while midway lanes out in vestal seems to be cleaner and a bit more bright inside, Sunset is still probably my favorite place to bowl. 3 and a half out of 5

Came here with the Miss Sarit and her friends…read more The manager / owner (possibly) was super friendly and accommodating; we prepaid for 3 games each, but stuck around for two since it was late and we had been driving all day from NYC to this area-ish. He offered a full refund for the missed game, and even comforted us that it was "no problem! It's perfectly fine!" along with a warm smile. I mean, I would have been satisfied not getting a refund (it was only about 8$ per person for three games total so the refund was like a dollar each.) The bar was understocked, but that's understandable since most of the people here were underage. They do have 7.50$ pitchers of beer which is awesome. Left to my wiles I would have had 2-3! Get drunk and cause great concern for safety at this fun little spot.

We got discounted tickets because we went to the park first. We drove up to the entrance and the staff were super friendly and explained all the rules and sold us buckets of feed. Although we were warned about the animals and what they would do, we were not fully prepared for the greediness of every animal! It was fun don't get me wrong but it got to be a little overwhelming . They will run up to your car, stuck their head in if your windows are down and gobble anything they can reach. Two hands on the bucket at all times. Some cattle even trotted next to the car once we were trying to move on. There are some pull off areas that you can stop for longer and cars behind you can pass if they want which was nice. The only time I felt uneasy was when a bison (was protecting her baby) and almost body slammed a llama or alpaca into the side of our car. You're clearly made aware that it is at your own risk, but it still shook me a little. A slight annoyance was the Car in front of has had little kids (like 5 years old) hanging out of the sunroof and windows, feeding the animals food they clearly brought from home and the employees didn't say anything. We felt that was really unsafe for the kids and the animals and someone should have said something . The best part was at the end are the giraffes (Taj!) and you can park and get out of your car to go see them and feed them. Linda at the giraffe stand was incredible and got them to come over to see us after maybe about 5-10 minutes of them ignoring us lol. All in all, We really did enjoy the drive and the animals and would definitely do it again.

Scheduled a trail ride with the owner, Laura. We were running a bit late and called to let them…read moreknow. Once we arrived, Laura and her husband came out to greet us. They are both very friendly people and Laura cares greatly about the horses. Our trail guide was Molly, a young woman who boards her horse at the farm and does competitions. Molly was extremely friendly and carried my camera the entire ride so she could take photos of my boyfriend and I. The horses are extremely well-trained and great for my boyfriend who was riding a horse for the first time. The pricing is very reasonable at $40 per person per hour. Even though we were 15 minutes behind schedule, we weren't rushed at all and Molly even went over the hour limit. It was a very gorgeous ride through the property of the farm - woods & field. Highly recommended!

We headed over to Rec Park just to relax and see the carousel, which was unfortunately closed. We just walked around and enjoyed the beautiful setting. Plenty of open space and with a beautiful pool, ball fields and tennis courts with multiple paths to walk around. I especially like the huge playground with not just one but two areas for the kids to play and climb and wow... they were all out enjoying the the pay structures and using the slides. This is just a lovely enclave in the middle of a city to find some nice resting and strolling areas. I hope to come here one day and be able to take advantage of the free carousel. KUDOs to the city and those who maintain the wonderful Rec Park.
