For a small fee, you can enjoy a one on one experience with their friendly alpacas, or take a few out on a guided tour along the wintery trails. Perfect to soak up all the fresh crisp air. The farm is free to visit, the one on ones have to be reserved ahead of time and paid for. The farm is home for many animals, goat, pigs and you'll often find a few cats following you round as you explore. There's a gift shop on site, which you must stop in to see. They have lots of hand made items, from hats, gloves, to socks and so much more, most made with the fur of the alpacas. Also, They do have soaps and lotions that are made from the milk of the alpaca's, which is the most buttery soft lotions and luxurious soaps you'll ever use. The visit here is worth while, it's a unique way to spend some time with the animals and in nature.

Once you arrive you check in and they either provide you with a strawberry basket or you drive right into the fields and they can give you a basket there too. Don't be shy to walk further into the fields where fewer people go! There's a tractor ride periodically that you can take to and from the main farm area if you don't want to drive down (about 10 min tractor ride vs 5 min drive). There's plenty of room and a lot space in the strawberry fields. Afterwards we did some fun activities like feeding the bunnies and playing on the wooden tractors they built, mini golf and the corn piles! They have bathrooms and food available onsite as well, very easily, as well as jam and snacks and toys to buy as souvenirs. The weather was amazing, not too sunny and not rainy - a lot of the activities are outdoors. Would definitely recommend!

Biggest problem is that the area is crawling with ticks (and lyme disease) and the Frost Valley doesn't seem to take any precautions - aside from our daughter being reminded once or twice at bedtime to do a tick check. The kids go on an overnight campout where they hike through tall grass and then camp outdoors in tall grass - against all Department of Health guidelines. Not recommended. The camp's family handbook contains no tick/Lyme disease information - inexcusable for a camp in a high-risk area. Medical response was slow (6+ hour delay) and medication was mismanaged. Management refused any refund for sessions missed due to the medical condition acquired at their camp. Three families in our group reported similar operational issues with unresponsive counselors. Save your money and choose a camp that prioritizes child safety.

Swan lake closed. Hello Roscoe MTN. Ba. Boom! Perfect. Shot a slap it around horrible 97 with my bride of 40 years next to me. Tomorrow is a new day. Hit the bait shop in the Am and get on the lake. . Just what I wanted! 11.00 tee time. Wide open spaces , quiet af, wide open golf course. And really sweep peeps! Absolute home run for grandpa! An absolutely extraordinary place, it far exceeded our expectations. Driftwood Ranch offers a…read morelevel of luxury that we had not expected of a ranch experience. Rooms are absolutely beautiful with custom made furniture, large stone gas fireplaces, large bathrooms with heated toilet seats, and a design style that welcomes you and makes you feel that you are in a one-of-a-kind place. Our room had a bed canopy of branches filled with fairy lights, while our daughter's room had an amazing 15' long sculpture of a cattle drive done from a single log. The outdoor setting was equally beautiful. Within very short walks are fields that contain longhorn steer with the longest horns you can imagine, horse pastures, stall barns for the horses, a leather and gift shop, the dining area, and the indoor arena, and roads that lead to the two gates. There are two ponds on site with docks and places to sit, kayaks to borrow, and one has a giant caldron in which they light fires each night to sit around and make smores. In several places there are amazing sculptures from the on-site artist and others. The dining is family style with the primary members of the staff. Breakfast is what you would imagine having if you got up at 5am and worked a full morning of chores, eggs, bacon, biscuits, fruit, sausage, cinnamon rolls, yogurt, toast, etc. Prepare to gain weight. Lunch was typically a soup, bread, and a protein and grain bowl, and they were excellent. Dinner was huge and varied, and absolutely delicious. Everything was prepared by the fabulous Chef Craig who was a wonderful a person as his food was. The people who run Driftwood Ranch are extraordinary. The owner is a famous rodeo champion with multiple titles who now designs the most beautiful and unique homes I have ever seen. His partner was a successful barrel racer who is training horses and making gorgeous jackets for dogs. The husband and wife team who supported our riding experiences were a famous quarter-horse jockey who also makes amazing leather work and an acclaimed race horse trainer. Every person we met was pleasant, helpful, and had amazing stories from their event filled lives. We rode everyday we were at the ranch, including work in the barn and out on the private road. Our all-inclusive package included riding every day. In retrospect I wish I had added a lesson because three of our party are absolute beginner riders. In summary, Driftwood Ranch offered a chance to meet some amazing people who shared their enthusiasm and beautiful surroundings with us, and to whom we are grateful for the opportunity.
