We began tax planning with them in December 2020 since our taxes were going to be more complex this year. They ended up filing our taxes late, AFTER the October extension deadline, despite us giving them all documents in early March 2021 and following up repeatedly. While I completely understand they (and the IRS) are short staffed due to Covid, this doesn't explain why it took over 7 months for them to file. This was especially frustrating since we received borderline rude responses each time we followed up. They told us we were due an IRS refund, but we ended up getting a letter from the IRS saying we owed money because our preparer didn't specify that our payment should be made under the primary payer. We are still waiting on our refund and Viridian has never admitted any fault. When I requested an itemized bill to make sure we weren't being charged for status updates due to their late filing, they sent me the vaguest possible breakdown and literally said, "You were fortunate to have been billed so little in past years." Giving two stars because Joe was a great CPA, but I was told he is on sabbatical indefinitely.

I came in and met with the tax preparer who was just the best. He was very kind, knowledgeable and patient. There was some info that he needed to finish my taxes that I didn't have with me, and he was closing the store in about an hour. Since I live 1 hour away, he offered to come in on Saturday, when they were closed, since I had mentioned I was coming up to the area on Saturday to see some friends. I was so surprised! I couldn't believe he would give up time on his day off just for me. When I was driving up on Saturday, I was a little late and called to let him know. He understood and waited for me. When I arrived, everything was 90% done. After I handed over the last info needed, everything got finished. He gave me some coupons to use for next year's taxes and to hand out to friends. I would highly recommend this JH due to the superb customer service received!
