This orchard was one of the last ones to still have apple picking available in the first week of November which we were super grateful for. Since most of the remaining apples were on the top of the trees they were thoughtful enough to provide ladders across the orchard which was support useful and made our experience fun and enjoyable. The instructions were very simple and were had the best time enjoying ourselves in the orchard. The apples were absolutely delicious and we also bought other stuff in their store. The apple cider was delicious and so were the Donuts. The donuts were not too greasy and fried perfectly unlike a lot of other places which I absolutely loved. I grabbed a bag for my friend who also loved the donuts so much!! One thing I would love to see here is maybe some sort of savory or fresh food options, like a crepe station or panini situation. I would have loved to sit outside in the picnic tables and have a sandwich. After a whole day of apple picking that is probably the only thing that will push this 5 star experience over the top. If you are looking for a fun, family friendly outdoor activity, please come here!!

Now, I'm a dedicated urban/suburbanite. I've got a pronounced phobia of camping, and don't know the first thing about large scale farming, but even I can tell a corn stalk from a pumpkin vine. Maybe its because I've been spoiled by Penn Vermont. A truly remarkable family run farm with amazing produce. And the propriaters could not be more friendly. The whole family are just delightful. My family has been going here for the past 10 years. They still let my dad come oogle the cider press (its an antique) and he's been known to drink it straight from the gallon in the backseat of the car. Great selection of local produce at reasonable prices. And not a Sku in sight! They get lots of business in the fall for pumpkins and apples. The hayrides to the pumpkin field are free and feature cows, a free apple for munching, and some amazing views of rural Bucks County. But don't forget about them in the summer either! They have a great selection of warm weather fruits and veggies. I'm putting them with "garden" because this is where I go when something doesn't quite work out but I want tasty and local . Even master gardeners need a fail safe plan. Cash only. And drive safe up the one lane driveway.

Organic and sustainably grown by farming family Tom Murtha and Tricia Borneman, Blooming Glen strives to maintain and expand the rich agricultural history of Bucks County. The ideals are noble, but the proof of success comes at the dinner table -- the rainbow chard, firm-fleshed potatoes and delicate garlic purchased from these folks transform ordinary meals into special occasions. As a cook, this superlative quality is absolutely thrilling. As a shopper, the stuff is not cheap -- but local and organic never is. You're supporting not only local farmers, but helping spread the gospel of local food when you buy here. Since we haven't yet seen peak oil, I'd suggest everyone get on this train before those Chilean strawberries that you must have in January reach $29.99 a quart.

This farm is fantastic. And if you have children, (I don't) I would bring them too and make it a family event. I was always so envious of those families who brought their kids and made it FUN to go find your own strawberries and cherry tomatoes. If you live near, you must buy a share! It broke my heart to hear about Tom and Tricia's harvest getting rotted after last year's unusual rainy season - I hope you will give this place a try. It is truly a wonderful place, though I won't be back this year having to work and spend too much time in Philly. One day I will be back though.
