Not only do they continue to help our daughter grow and give her the personalized attention she needs in class, on the playground, in daycare. But they have gone to the whole way to the mat for her to advocate for the essential services she will need to continue to learn and grow. Our daughter may well be stronger and even safer years after she graduates from AMS because of their limitless advocating for her. Separately, our daughter is now communicating at what an independent assessment has said is a level 1.5 years above her age group. And she's an increasingly confident and determined little person. Someplace else, she might be reciting more things by rote or I don't even know what skill someone might need a toddler to have. Instead, she can and will tackle anything. It just doesn't occur to her there's something she can't do. They are an enormous part of that. And just great partners in all aspects. I'm a better mom because I know them. Arcadia Montessori school is not just a school of magnificently talented, dedicated and kind people. They *love* their students. They advocate for and protect kids way beyond what one could reasonably expect from anyone other than immediate family. They just bring tears to my eyes - more than I'd like to admit! And just yesterday when I went to pick up our daughter who otherwise has deep separation anxiety said - mama, can you come back a little later?

Both kids started at AMS around the age of 2.5, after they were potty trained. Both absolutely thrived in this environment and saw incredible development milestones throughout their time at AMS. The teachers and administration at this school are simply incredible. Each teacher and administrator showed an incredible amount of genuine attention and affection for our children. As children move through the school, through the different classes across age ranges, and through their development, each teacher has age-appropriate and individual child specific support for the little ones. We unfortunately started at this school during Covid so we had limited access and engagement early on. However, as things reopened, we had an ability to come to the school for events, come make independent visits, and engage more in the day-to-day activities of our kids. Under the leadership of Mrs. Cheryl Roberts, our children were provided with an incredibly supportive environment to learn, grow, and to most importantly be kids. Our children showed incredible development throughout their time at AMS. I can confidently say that their reading, speech, math, and life skills developed significantly because of the attention and help of the teachers and administration of the school.

She truly makes the transition from Pre-K to Kindergarten so smooth. She helps the kids come out of their shell, improve their eating habits, and grow so much in their development overall. Ms. Eden is also amazing! She teaches Kinder through 3rd grade, and my daughter has learned so much from being exposed to different grade levels. Her reading has improved tremendously thanks to the supportive environment. The school also offers a fun summer camp program, where you can choose different activity packets and the kids go on trips Monday through Friday. My daughter loves it -- she's always excited to go and spend time with her friends. I've seen such a positive impact on all the kids here. Many who started out with separation anxiety or shyness now love coming to school every day. That says a lot about the teachers and how they connect with the students. One of the main reasons we went with this school was because of all the positive reviews and the smaller class sizes, which allow for more one-on-one attention between teachers and students. They also provide a yearly schedule so parents always know what's going on, and their early drop-off and late pick-up (until 5:30 PM) make it very convenient for working families. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a place where their child can learn, grow, and feel genuinely cared for.

They really stepped up to the plate working with me to get Mason (my 9 month old) signed up and registered as quickly as possible. Daisy and Ms. Melanie are consummate professionals and handled all the administrative details quickly getting registered with the assistance program that I'm using to help pay the tuition (which was not an easy process) but they were on top of it which allowed me to start bringing Mason right away. The teachers in the infant room are all really loving and affectionate, they always greet Mason with enthusiasm and love and he always has the biggest smile when I pass him over, which to me is the true test of a program because that reaction can't be faked! I love that I get a detailed report to bring home with all his important daily details like what times he napped and what he ate and when, even his diapering activity which is something all parents want to know! In addition there's an app which I can message his teachers or administrators and they get back to me right away. They also post pics of your child during their day which is always appreciated. I have zero reservations about recommending Wee Care to anyone looking for a high quality Montessori preschool and am just really pleased with my experience there!

Every single teacher here is exceptionally nice, patient, and genuinely invested in the children's growth. What we love most about the curriculum is the perfect balance it strikes: Strong Academics & Creativity: They have an impressive academic foundation that fully prepared my son for his next big step into elementary school, but they always keep it full of creativity, imagination, and fun. Endless Activities: The school keeps the kids engaged with a wonderful variety of activities that brought out the best in my son's curiosity. Amazing Care: As a parent, peace of mind is everything. Overall, it's been a positive experience with a few minor considerations. One of the standout features for us is the flexibility -- the school is open from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and I really appreciate being able to drop them off as late as 9:30 AM. It gives us the chance to enjoy slow mornings together. In addition to the flexible hours, there are very minimal holidays, which is a huge blessing for working families who just can't take that many days off in a year. Meals (breakfast, snack, and lunch) are included, and the facility is nut-free, which is crucial for us due to our daughter's peanut allergy. The school is very accommodating, and both Emilene and Stacy are great with communication. Stacy speaks Chinese, which is helpful since we're a bilingual household, and she's on top of everything. Together, Emilene and Stacy run the school very competently and are always responsive when we reach out. We've also noticed Spanish-speaking teachers interacting with the kids -- it's a nice bonus to hear them occasionally counting or singing in Spanish at home. The school provides uniforms, which makes mornings simpler -- no outfit struggles. Homework starts in the Primary class but is optional, which takes off some pressure. I like that the teachers let kids learn at their own pace. For example, our daughter has started writing her name, while her twin brother is still tracing -- and both are encouraged at their own level. Class sizes are a bit large, which might be a concern for some. Also, nap time is still enforced even though our kids are weaning off naps -- understandable, but something to be aware of. One thing I do wish is that they would take and share more pictures of the kids during the day. As a parent, I'd love to see more of what they're doing and experiencing at school. Overall, it's a warm and structured environment with great hours, minimal closures, helpful staff, and a multilingual atmosphere that we really value.

She attended TMS from when…read moreshe was 18 months until she graduated as a 4-year-old (when our family moved from LA to Denver). It's difficult to capture the gratitude and appreciation we have for Sue and her team in words. Modern Schoolhouse was an integral, joyful part of our family's life for several years. The teachers expertly crafted a safe, nurturing, and rigorous environment that provided a strong foundation for our daughter to blossom and grow. I feel like we will always look back on our enrollment at Modern Schoolhouse as one of the best parenting decisions we've ever made. A few things stand out about TMS: CURRICULUM - Our daughter was enrolled in full-time childcare for a year prior to Modern Schoolhouse. However, it was unclear whether her previous caregivers were working toward any kind of goal (e.g., Kindergarten readiness) or if she was learning anything. That changed the instant we enrolled at TMS. I remember feeling skeptical when Sue asked us to purchase a special pack of flashcards. However, a few months later our 1.5 year-old daughter was recognizing the alphabet and making letter sounds at home. We were legitimately shocked! Preschool years are so important for kids to develop foundational skills and get broad exposure to different topics. Modern Schoolhouse delivers a learning experience that feels ambitious, but not forced. Our daughter was always engaged with the current unit (e.g., marine life, camping, etc.) and excited to go to school. That is the best feeling as a parent! The regular assessments and parent/teacher conferences helped us understand her progress and make a smooth transition to our new school in Colorado. CARE - At the same time that preschool aged children are exploring new academic concepts, they're also learning how to interact and play with other children. Modern Schoolhouse does such an excellent job helping their students communicate, manage their emotions, and engage with their classmates. At TMS our daughter learned things like how to ask for space and differentiate between good vs. bad choices. Teacher/staff transitions are inevitable and unavoidable in early childhood learning. What stood out to us about TMS was the quality and consistency of the team over the years and across classrooms. The teachers at Modern Schoolhouse helped us through the various ups and downs of life with a toddler and major transitions like potty training. Now that we're no longer enrolled at TMS, we're realizing that we took for granted how proactive and responsive the teachers were with their communication. The "ouch reports" from the playground, the quick responses to questions, it's all so important for parents - especially if this is your first childcare experience. COMMUNITY - Lastly, I want to highlight the broader Modern Schoolhouse community. Our daughter became very close with several other girls in her classroom and over time we became friends with their parents as well. TMS families are diverse, kind, and welcoming. I appreciated the music day potluck, annual art show, graduation, and the various other ways that Modern Schoolhouse brought everyone together to celebrate the students. Thank you Modern Schoolhouse! We will forever be grateful to you for the positive impact you had on our family.

Until the age of two, we were able to nurture his love of creativity through art, get him engaged in reading and music, and keep him active and independent while learning at home, but his social-emotional growth needed a community like Modern Schoolhouse to truly develop. We met another family at his favorite playground that had an AMAZING experience at Modern Schoolhouse and their daughter, who was academically gifted and raised with similar philosophies, was thriving under their care. We enrolled and discovered for ourselves that Modern Schoolhouse was indeed an absolute gem for child development. Our son entered after turning two, and he was very shy/reserved at the time. The talking, dancing, singing, bilingual artist that blew us away with his funny ideas and love of learning at home, needed help expressing himself in the larger group. Over the next several years, Leonardo was able to grow and thrive his ability to emotionally self-regulate, from having a 'safe space' at home to being able to identify what he was feeling and how to 'calm his body,' to listening to others and respecting common space. What we didn't anticipate was not just the top quality of the school, the clean aesthetic spaces, and the exceptional teachers (Teacher Alicia from class 3 was truly amazing!!), but also the like minded and kind community that became a key part of our son's social life. During our son's first years at home, we studied Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia- instituting some principles of each in our approach at home. It wasn't until we met Sue and her philosophies at Modern Schoolhouse did we see some of these same philosophies embodied in an American child care setting; and we must have interviewed or toured at 5 or more local schools before finding Modern Schoolhouse. The core beliefs consist of the idea that children are competent, capable, curious individuals with hundreds of ways of self expression. The role of the school and family should be creating a structured, clean, and aesthetic environment that is conducive stimulating exploration and discovery. Teachers in this sense guide and foster collaboration rather than just 'delivering information.' Giving our son a new challenge was hard at first, but Sue and her staff were quick to offer suggestions and outside resources so we could reinforce some lessons at home, especially around his development of social/emotional skills like managing anger, dealing with disappointment, and learning to communicate when he needed space. He also was given the chance to learn how to build relationships and have positive interactions with new friends. Each 'season' and month had different themes that would be clearly delivered in monthly/quarterly emails along with chances to meet with teachers on child progress in key development areas of language, tracing, use of scissors, how to put on shoes/jackets, counting, class participation/listening, and emotional self expression. By class 3 (3 years old and above), our son was giving 'show and tell' presentations, using the 'sharing bee' to discuss their weekend, and playing inventive games to stimulate imagination and curiosity. Through the use of brightwheel, we were always shown photos and videos of our son having fun with friends and doing some fun activity. The school also offered many events at the school such as the "annual art show," "parent and me" day, and music sessions from Teacher Gaia culminating in a student led music performance (the cutest!). This year all the 4 classes made their own animal costumes and acted out various Disney themes. It was extraordinary to see him flourish and thrive under Teacher Alicia in class 3, who is truly remarkable for her ability to connect to kids and meet them where they are on the journey. By the end he was more confident in his presentations and even singing his favorite Disney songs Karaoke style to the class! Everything ended on a wonderful note with his graduation and small speech to parents and the graduating class. We were given an opportunity for a graduation photoshoot and his 'family book' with messages from all of the teachers as a keepsake that he created during his time there. As he graduated before many of the others in class 3, everyone created a special hand painted art for him with with the handprints of all his friends. It is bittersweet to go onto the next chapter, but he graduated school scoring high in every single metric of development, and he easily was interviewed and accepted into an international private school. Thanks you for being such a key part of his childhood journey and we hope to stay in touch with Leonardo and our growing family!
