Dr Agarwal has been my oncologist since June of 2020 and still see her for routine visits till now. She doesn't talk much care but doesn't speak much so I highly suggest before seeing her to have your questions written down just to feel better when you leave her clinic. Dr. Vandana Ararwal is a horrible provider in my experience. She took zero stock of what I related to her as a high risk diabetic with need of continuity of care from a podiatrist who had treated me since an amputation and subsequent pervasive problems. She not only did not honor the request (after me clearing with insurance that the provider was in network which is why they assigned me to Agarwal) she assigns me to a provider in Huntington Beach from her very local office in Pomona after explaining both the request for continuity of care, and the need for a local provider. She bumbled my medication. Her office subsequently ignored several calls and a follow up visit was not available for me for three months. All with knowledge that I was a high risk diabetic with ongoing bilateral ulcers. At that follow up appointment she tells me she is retiring as a doctor and she would not fulfill any referrals for podiatry, or any other request. She is a calculated liar, as I called their office and asked when her last day as a doctor was to send her a card, the receptionist stated "she only retired from medi-cal patients" She is callus and unethical in her approach to a profession with care and compassion as core principles. My appointments with Dr. A. Vandana have consistently felt rushed. Having worked in both clinic and hospital settings alongside other physicians, I believe the level of care and attentiveness could be improved. Patients who require her specialty deserve more time and consideration during their visits. Although she was assigned as my primary care provider, I have decided not to continue care with her. My brother was a new patient. He was injured on the job and made an appointment to see this doctor . I drove him to see this doctor. While he was being see, the nurses at the front desk were talking about paperwork from his job, he wanted the doctor to sign, which is breaking the HIPPA LAW, which is invasion of privacy (I have experience in the medical field, from my past job), plus it is extremely RUDE!!!! PLUS the doctor was NOT onsite!!! They told him to leave the paperwork there and they will have the doctor sign it, they will call him when it is ready . The doctor called him, in the morning the next day. I took him to pick up the paperwork, however they claimed it wasn't done yet, even though the doctor called him, earlier that morning. They said it should be ready by the end on the day. My brother called them, before the office closed and they lost the paperwork. He did stress to them over the phone, how he needs the paperwork the next day or he is going to be suspend, till farther notice from his job. The nurse on the phone said " OH WELL",!!!!! That shows they really don't care about people and that anyone goes to them is consider a number, not a person. Now my brother is stress about his job, because of THEIR MESS UP!!!! She does not explain lab results to her patients, which may not be an issue if she were competent, but she clearly isn't: I sought second and third opinions from other oncologists who were shocked at Dr. Agarwal's treatment recommendations for my cancer. She could not care less about her patients, and Thank God, it shows; otherwise, I may still be under her care, or rather, may have died under her care. She is incompetent, unprofessional, and plain mean: she borderline threatened me of legal action when I talked to her about what the other oncologists had told me. She claims having 20 years of satisfied patients, but I wonder how many she has sent to an early grave. It is mind boggling that she somehow still holds a medical license. Dr Agarwal killed my wife, Anna Fitzpatrick, by not getting her Chemo treatment! Ann was denied Chemo 3 times because Dr death wouldn't cooperate with with her insurance company. They couldn't contact her office because when you call, all you get is an answering machine and they don't return your call. IEHP couldn't approve Chemo , unless they have a treatment plan. I received a phone call 1 day prior to a Dr apt that I was referred too letting me know I needed my primary Dr Agarwal re-sumit another referral. I've been waiting for this apt since October 2019. When I called Veronica at Dr. Agarwal office (she's the one that works on all referrals for this office). She was quick to respond to my VM. Reached out to me by texting and able to get the approval withing a couple of hours so I wouldn't have to reschedule the appointment that I've been waiting for months. Thank you Veronica for your promptness and ability to make me feel comfortable and not stressing in regards to waiting longer for another apt. It's very important to me that I turn some of these negative reviews around. I am use to such great care with other doctors and worried **based on the reviews I saw** that it would be terrible. The establishment was warm, clean and friendly. The staff was polite and I sensed one of the women working there express a bit of frustration as someone that was calling her seemed to be demanding private information over the phone which is against policy. I was a new patient and was slipped in between patients!! I was happy to wait and could hear murmurs in the hall of the doctor talking to a patient about how thrilled she was that her cancer treatment was a success!! This being said, she had bigger fish to fry than my little meet and greet to get regular prescriptions filled...I was happy to see her Physicians assistant who was just absolutely polite, down to earth and unbelievably understanding!! I know that this review may seem over the top but if you see how little time i spend on reviewing restaurants or ANYTHING for that matter...you will see how important good healthcare is. I feel lucky to have her and hope that those that complain about her staff or having to wait for long periods of time take the time to manage their own time better and perhaps plan for the wait: because she is worth it. read more

I agree with the first review. I have never met a more incompetent and more uncaring front office staff in my life. Dr. Vandana runs a small cancer clinic and you would think that the front office (the office manager, the receptionist, and so forth) would at least pretend to care that they are dealing with patients who are in life and death situations. But they don't. They will lie to your face and say that they have faxed documents to insurance / other specialists / etc. when they have not. They "lose" or "misplace" documents. They give you the wrong dates for appointments. They are rude on the phone and in person. They literally could not care less that their mistakes could lead to the death of patients. When you call any of this to their attention, they never apologize, but double down and insist they have made no mistakes whatsoever. They escalate instead of diffuse problems with patients. Absolutely horrible. If changing oncologists wouldn't further delay treatment, I would find a new clinic. This is not a place where you want to put your life, or the life of your loved one, in their hands. Dr. Vandana has heard from multiple patients and families about her horrible office staff and has done NOTHING. ** Please, please look at the reviews that are currently "not recommended" by Yelp's algorithm. They are all telling the truth about Argarwal's New Hope Cancer Clinic and it's a shame that Yelp for some reason thinks that since all the reviews are negative, there must be a mistake. Ok ok ok....if you have insurance, just be AWARE that the co-pay here is NOT your normal $15 (HMO) or whoever your insurance company is. It is $30 !!!! Why ? Because this is a specialist that you are seeing ; not your everyday family doctor. I was bummed that day because their credit card machine was down and accepted only cash/check. I had to change doctors because of my insurance required it, that's how I ended up here. It took me one hour and a half to be seen by doctor Agarwal; she looks tired and unprofessional. Because I mentioned my blood pressure numbers, she prescribed me medications that I'm not going to take. She stayed at my room for about 3 minutes, and I had to rushed to ask her how she saw my cholesterol levels and she say to keep taking whatever I'm taking . On June 11, 2015 I waited 70 minutes to see Dr. Agarwal. When she finally came in to see me, however, it was without any charts or lab work. When I asked her if she had it, she just replied, "No" and, telling the girl there was no chart, and instead of continuing to talk with me until it arrived, just proceeded into another room, shut the door, and began speaking with another patient. I literally walked out of the office, as I have never been treated so rudely or incompetently in my entire life, and I'm a middle aged man. Worst medical service I have ever experienced. Zero. I feel embarrassed for even having to write this review...because Dr Vandana Agarwal has got to be the most unprofessional, unorganized Dr I have ever seen. I waited for her for at least an hour for a follow up appointment to go over some blood work and ultrasound I had done. When she walked into my room my first impression was SHOCK. She literally was wearing SLIPPERS!!!!! She had 1 piece paper and came in said my iron was low and to take supplements. And that was it! I had to ask her to go go over my other blood work results and ultrasound and she had the audacity to say did we order those tests and ultrasound for you?!?!? I am a new patient and made an appointment for a CPE. The office was clean and warming; the staff was friendly and helpful. I thought I was going to see the doctor, but I was actually seen by the NP, Katrina (I think that's her name), instead. No complaints there. The NP was so wonderful! She's very thorough and I didn't feel like she rushed me at all. I definitely will continue coming to her office if the rest of the staff is as great as she is. read more

Now that Brian is no longer there I had to switch doctors, Dr Agarwal just doesn't seem to care about her patients. She never takes your file in with her, she has no ideal of your issues. Some of the staff are rude. Not all of them I wish I remembered the name of the one nurse that actually cares, and tries to help you. I had to go for a ekg made an appointment with them got there in a room and the machine was not charged, they asked me to come back in 4 hours, ok I ask what's the best time the girls upfront said between 12/30 and 1:30 I asked specifically if they close for lunch 3 people say no. I hate this place. I am changing Dr.s next week now that Dr. Brian is gone. He was the BEST!! Dr. Vandana is pathetic. She told me my blood pressure was 'high enough to be admitted". I absolutely hate writing a bad review, but here it goes... the staff is one of the worst you will ever encounter. When a dr is referring you to see a particular specialist, they will ask you to do the footwork and will ask you to find a doctor and only then they MIGHT work on obtaining your authorization. The office manager will not react to concerns about customer service, will just say "uh-huh" and nod, does not make any effort to correct her staff's lack of work. I am greatly concerned for the doctor, she is really good, but her staff is totally unprofessional, unmotivated and not respectful. The entire office lack empathy. This is sad since a lot of their patients are cancer patients. I heard one of the gals turn away a Chemo patient simply because she wouldn't take the extra mile and call their insurance.
