Agave Azul in Windermere is a very beautiful Mexican restaurant. We ordered the chips and guacamole, chile rellenos , and a vegetarian burrito. The chips were delicious. The salsa was mild and of a medium thickness . The guacamole was very pretty but tasted like there was a lot of air in it like it had been whipped or put in a blender. It tasted good but like it didn't have much avocado in it. I'm used to a chunky avocado guacamole that is basically smashed avocado, this guacamole was not anywhere near that. The chile rellenos were ok. The sauce on it was delicious. The breading and fried-ness was perfect but the actual poblano chile were not that thick in one of them which also had the seeds and seed pod still in it . The other chile relleno was good. My husband loved the vegetarian burrito. It was filled with all different vegetables and I would rate that a five star burrito. Very creative and delicious. Also we had asked for some spicier salsa and they brought us three which were at different spice levels. Five stars for that too, the salsas are very good. The service was excellent. Servers kept coming over to us to ask how the food was and also filling our water drink even though there was a bottle of water on the table for us. An odd thing is how fast the food came out. It seemed like the food came in less than five minutes from being ordered. How

I can't stop coming here. Been to multiple Locations and they're all the same. Great service, great ambience, but the drinks and food are the real stars.

Go-to Been going here since they opened. Always packed and vibrant, bustling and busy. The service is usually quick, though tonight it took a while to get our food and our drink orders seemed to have been forgotten. I ordered the currasco steak. Med rare and perfect. They downsized their sides, but it was still enough to feel satisfied. The vibe is always high, but it's too loud to have a business conversation so we elected to eat outside. It was still loud outside. Love this place for a casual dinner or date night.

Had a little holiday dinner with some coworkers and it was a great time! We were sat almost immediately and service was quick. I ordered the Monterrey tacos and they were delicious! Would definitely reorder again. My coworker had an issue with her meal but the manager came out and fixed it immediately!! Great service & great atmosphere. Thank you!

We chose this place as a last minute birthday spot for my dad and man was it worth it. The restaurant was nicely decorated felt very nice and very welcoming. The staff was nice and sat us down super fast. The waiter had great recommendations I ordered the Churrasco and the street corn both great. The Churrasco came with beans rice and fried Yuca everything was cooked to perfection and the stake was nice and soft. Very well worth the price. The street corn was great but I did wish I would have shared more. It was big much even for just 2 people maybe some chips with it would be great. But over great great food and great experience can't wait to be back.

We ordered take on from here during Covid and were not happy. I am sorry it took 5+ years to give them another chance because the Ancho run ed steak burrito was AMAZING!! We also ordered the goat cheese stuffed jalapeños which were fantastic.. our experience was great and the food was outstanding!!

Just moved to the area and this place is already our new go to for a date night. Drinks and food are delicious, and the ambience is so nice. Outdoor bar is super relaxing and the staff is super friendly! A must try

Love this place! My husband and I stopped by for lunch on New Year's Eve and we were not disappointed! The inside of the restaurant is very cute and well decorated. Our server, Natalie, started us off with complimentary chips and salsa, which were delicious! For an appetizer we ordered the goat cheese jalapeños, and they were fantastic! The drizzle of balsamic glaze really made the flavor stand out, and the bacon on the outside was nice and crispy! For our entrees we both ordered the chicken and steak fajitas. The protein marinade was absolutely delicious, and all of the toppings tasted very fresh. A surprising standout was the refried beans. They have a great flavor and I could eat these by themselves. Great experience overall, we can't wait to come back again soon!

One of my favorite Mexican chains. I've been to 2 of their locations and the food has been fairly consistent across both. I would typically do a cali bowl with a different protein when I go, but this night I didn't have a heavy appetite and opted for street corn, empanadas, queso blanco, and an agua fresca. My fiancé had a quesadilla. Everything tasted good. The street corn is cooked well and not heavy on heat at all. The empanadas were crisp and the beef was seasoned well, the cilantro sauce it comes with is the best combo. Their queso blanco is nice as well. The only thing I can say I'm not a fan of is the music. It's sooooo loud and it makes it hard to have a conversation. Every table is raising their volume to speak which makes the restaurant loud as a whole. Most people are eating with friends and family, it's makes the place seem more like a sports bar than a restaurant. That said, I will definitely continue visiting in the future. Maybe with a set of earplugs.

Walking in we were promptly greeted and seated in a section on the far side of the bar. Santiago came over and offered to take our drink order and appetizers. We decided on queso and guacamole. All of which came quickly. After we nibbled a bit he came to take our order. We chose the chicken chimichanga, a side of street corn and the Chicken enchiladas de Mole. Before we knew if our dinner was served. Everything was so delicious. Santiago checked on us several times and was fantastic. We look forward to returning soon.

The ambiance here is amazing and the food is unique in the best way. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. With fresh options on the menu and some of the best cuts of steak, this is a regular on our list for a family dinner or a date night. Our favorite is the churrasco and birria tacos. Bonus - the Oaxaca old fashioned is a perfect end to a yummy meal.

I had some friends come into town, and they wanted to eat at a fancy, but not too fancy, Mexican restaurant. When I hear that, I immediately thing Agave Azul. So we chose the one by their hotel, make reservations, and get this thing going. In the middle of a ho-hum strip mall, the interior is a stark contrast, very ornate and very upscale. Chill at the same time. You feel very comfortable in here, but also like you want to bop your head and party a little bit. Anyway, we got seated and met our server. She was very nice. Had a good explanation of the menu for us. No issues. Our drinks were full all evening long. As for the food, it was a little lackluster compared to our first time at the WP location. I know the restaurant world is faced with budget decisions lately, and I know the people of Windermere are a little seasoning-hesitant, so it all kind of adds up, and it was still a wonderful night, so I'm gonna stick with the five stars here. I had the Flautas (Chicken tinga, flash fried corn tortillas, crema, guacamole, queso fresco, radish, refried beans, Mexican rice, tomatillo arbol salsa). Mega crispy with some flavorful chicken inside. All that listed stuff piled high on top made for some good dipping and topping. Really fun. Really good. The rice and beans were part of the disappointment that I mentioned earlier, but they were still satisfactory. I'm glad they were there. We also had a sampler thing with a quesadilla, a burrito, a chimichanga, something like that. Also good. A good sauce, a tasteful amount of cheese, maybe a little small amount of rice and beans. Overall pretty good. We finished it all off with a Tres Leches. Pound-for-pound, the best thing we ate that night. This cake was very well saturated. Not too sweet, because the sweetness was the cream on top, and the caramel drizzle. Perfect amounts of each. A really nice way to end the dinner. Overall, this was a nice dinner. I will probably not come back, but if you are considering coming here, this place will not disappoint!

The food was delivered pretty quick and was still warm so likely made fresh. The taquitos were crispy and delicious. They were birria and came with sour cream and guacamole. Neither of us ate steak and so we (think) we got 2x the chicken instead of the steak. With the fajitas for 2, it came with a portion of refried beans, rice salad and guac with 3 tortillas for each person. The serving of the fajitas was very big! It could be good for 3 people. The chicken were like strips - it was pretty good. The shrimp were really good. It wasn't chewy and flavorful. The fajitas plate was very hot and I think the plate overtime burnt the onions and peppers. The chips and salsa were good as well. Environment This seems to be a new location for winter garden. There are plenty of seats available - booth, bar and high tables. There is a lot of parking outside, i don't think you'd have to worry about parking. Niceness of the staff In the process of ordering and trying to understand the menu... as there was option on the fajitas for 1 protein, 2 protein (chicken and steak only) 3 protein (all 3). As I didn't want steak, there may have been some lost in communications. Nonetheless, it was a surprise as to what really happened... The server wasn't as knowledgeable or didn't have the understanding of what I wanted to achieve.. lesson learned - try not to substitute.. don't confuse them Dollar The fajitas for 2 was 49$ Yes/No yea why not

The manager was going back-and-forth between being in the kitchen as well as seating people at the hosting stand which led me to believe that there must've been call-ins or scheduling has just been not great. We ended up being seated, but had to wait for them to clear off a booth because they didn't wanna seat in the other section. They clearly had closed off. We ordered our food, but our server seemed really disengaged like she was just going through the motions. Food came out super quickly. I did order a sparkling sangria that was nonalcoholic and it basically just tasted like Pepsi so not exactly sure what it was supposed to taste like but it definitely didn't have any sangria flavoring. My husband got a glass of water, but sadly you could tell that they must've either just got it out of the sink or just hand wash it because you could literally taste the soap. I got an order of the tamales, which were good. They definitely are a little spicy so be aware of that if you are opposed to spice, but the serving was large and I ended up taking it home to have for lunch the next day. My husband got the Carnitas and I will say the Carnitas seem like they were more shredded then they were previously. Overall, it was an OK experience. It feels like perhaps as if management has changed because it's definitely not as friendly nor as organized as it used to be..

From the outside, the restaurant is pretty unassuming, but if you've spent time eating at authentic Mexican spots, you know that's usually a good sign. Inside, it's small and quaint and honestly feels like you've stepped into someone's home kitchen in the best way. We ordered plain bean and cheese burritos to-go (a true test for any Mexican spot) along with a small order of chips. While waiting about 10 minutes for our food, we loaded up at the salsa bar. We tried four salsas: roasted tomato, enchilada, habanero, and tomatillo, and every single one tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. Serious salsa bar goals. If I had to rank them, the roasted tomato and tomatillo were my favorites, but honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. Then came the burritos. One bite immediately took us right back to the LA food trucks we grew up with--simple, comforting, and exactly what a good bean and cheese burrito should be. Finally, a bean and cheese burrito that tastes like California. I wish I had taken photos, but honestly... I was too excited and dug right in. Safe to say we'll be back soon. This has officially become our new go-to spot for Mexican takeout. Pro tip: Don't skip the salsa bar--grab a few different ones and experiment.

The Vibe: Located in a strip mall with shared parking, the restaurant itself is actually quite cute inside, with tablecloths on each table and a full-service bar near the entrance. That said, when we first walked in, there was an unpleasant, slightly mildew-like odor, which made us question the overall cleanliness. The restaurant was about ¼ full, which felt like a decent sign for a weekday evening. Service: Service was excellent from start to finish. We were seated quickly, given chips and salsa right away, and our server was attentive and efficient throughout the meal. What We Ordered: * Enchiladas Combination (cheese, beef, and chicken with red sauce, you can choose red or green) * Puntas de Filete in Salsa Verde * Sprite & Coke First Impressions: The food came out extremely fast--under 5 minutes, which made it feel more reheated than freshly prepared. Food Quality: Unfortunately, the food lacked flavor across the board. The chips and salsa were underwhelming--the salsa was very watery with little to no spice. The enchiladas were quite dry, lacking sauce, and topped with an overwhelming amount of cheese. My husband ordered the Puntas de Filete in Salsa Verde, hoping for something similar to chile verde, but it didn't come close. The dish lacked depth of flavor and mostly tasted like beef and raw onions. He also requested medium rare, but it came out closer to well-done. Even the refried beans had an unusual, overly garlicky taste that felt a bit off. Overall: While the service was great, the food unfortunately didn't meet expectations--especially for a place positioning itself as western-style Mexican. Average food, standout service. We were hoping to find a go-to spot reminiscent of California Mexican food, but this one missed the mark for us.
