Love Azteca! My go to is always the Tacos Gringos with the chips & salsa. We've always received great service at this location. Not always so at the one on Colonial. They had news menus today. They were iPads! I have never seen that, but it made it very easy to find what you're looking for. We will definitely be back. I do need to add one negative - we also pick up food from here or have it delivered from this location. My one complaint is that you cannot add chips and Salsa with DoorDash or Uber Eats. This is a return visit review because Azteca D'Oro continues to impress every time we come. The atmosphere feels like a classic, traditional Mexican restaurant--colorful, lively, and welcoming. Every visit we've had here has been consistently good. Service is usually attentive, the food comes out quickly, and most importantly the quality is always excellent and reliable. This time around we tried something new: the Azteca chicken soup, and it absolutely blew me away. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Best chicken tortilla soup I've had. For our entrees, my husband ordered the al pastor tacos with sides of rice and beans, and I stuck with my usual: the Grande Combination with a chicken enchilada in mole sauce, a chile relleno, black beans, and plantains. The mole sauce is fantastic, and the chile relleno is one of the best I've ever had. We always leave here happy and full. Quick question for the chefs at Azteca D'Oro--do you have any seasonal specials coming up? Would love to try something new next time! We love the atmosphere and usually sit at the bar which has very comfortable barstools. Always great service here from the bartender, Victor. Within minutes of sitting, they will bring you complimentary chips and salsa with refills. The salsa is delicious and has nice-sized chunks of onions and tomatoes. It also has garlic and cilantro which I love. I loved the steak tapas dish from their new tapas menu. The steak is seasoned well and is very tender. Have been to this place many times and decided to grab some take out. Nice place with a lot of space, a big bar, outdoor patios, and plenty of room no matter the group size. And the staff are super friendly. Probably the nicest of the Mexican restaurants I've visited in Orlando so far. This burrito was a monster! Flour tortilla with rice, beans, chicken, cheese, all stuffed in there and topped with melted and Cotija cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and sour cream. Absolutely delicious!!! Took a while to finish though. The cheese dip was pretty good too. Very oily though so skip if you're health minded. The guacamole is made in house and you can taste it! This was my first visit to this location. We were seated right away and were able to take advantage of Happy Hour. Our server was very helpful and made good recommendations. I had the club quesadilla and the 4 cheese nachos with grilled chicken. The quesadilla came with white rice and Rancho beans. I love this place. They make the best alcohol drinks. Service was fast and curtious. When I went in it was semi busy. They sat us pretty quickly as well as getting our orders in. I tried their Birria tacos, beans in a taco shell bowl and rice. It was a flavor explosion. I absolutely loved what I ordered. On top of the tacos was cilantro and onions. Beans and rice was also good. The restaurant was so nice and beautiful. I was taking it all in that I forgot to get pictures. Definitely next time when I go back. It had a healthy serving of steak, cheese, peppers, and onions. If anything, it might've benefited from a touch more cheese, but I like my quesadillas on the cheesy side. I also got plantains on the side which were fantastic. I also got a sangria which, while a very large serving, honestly tasted like juice. To our surprise and pleasure, there was live entertainment and we got to enjoy our meal with a great singer and guitarist performing in English and Spanish, adding a great backdrop to the meal. So the food was incredible. Normally I take home half my meal but the fajitas, corn tortillas, and all the sides were just too good. The taco salad was huge, and much better quality than salads we've had at other TexMex places. Our friends' meals were also thoroughly enjoyed and all of us were happy with the service and prices. We frequently get take out from here but rarely go in for dinner as it's usually very busy. We were out and about on Friday night and needed to eat so decided to dine in. We called ahead and asked about the wait and it was 20min for 2 at 6:30pm. So we opted to go to the bar. We chose a hightop and got menu from the bar. It took a minute for service but she got our drinks started right away. We both got the Blanton's smoked old fashion ($22.00/each). It was really good! We also got the fresh guac (made table side - $15.00) and the then I got the taco salad ($16.00) and my husband got the Carne Asada with shrimp ($32.00). The salad was huge but I do wish there was more lettuce in the salad. It was more of the accoutrements than the actual salad itself. My husband's shrimp had mushrooms in it, which was a little surprising, but they were absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. I went here with a party of 5 and our server, Miguel did a fantastic job at taking our orders, recommending us drinks/ dishes and making sure to check in throughout our dining experience. We order margaritas as part of their happy hour, along with some appetizers for the table. The margs were huge and delicious (on the sweeter side). Of our appetizers, the esquites were our table's favorite as it was a perfect balance of creaminess, acidity from the lime and sweetness from the corn. The nachos were also super yummy, loaded with cheese and refried beans. The quesadillas were just fine but not something l'd necessarily order again. What a delicious Mexican restaurant. We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. The entrance is large and the bar area had a lot of seats. we were seated right away. Patricia was our server and she was great. Always attentive and was checking on us. They had a live guitarist and it gave such good vibes. Nothing too loud and a calm, acoustic guitar playing covers. The steak was not listed, but when the server mentioned it, I had to have it. The meat was tender and sliced into smallish cubes, which were easy to digest. Left lunch stuffed and sleepy but very happy. There was such a large, lovely wooden structure of a tree in the middle of this area with glass hearts and other hanging items. It was quite pretty. Been here plenty of times, although not my favorite Mexican restaurant - it's always crowd pleasing, prices are average, and menu is multi culturally welcoming so we come here with bigger groups! Guac made at table is always a great appetizer, to go with their free & fresh chips & salsa.
