Food quantity: 9/10 Food quality: 9/10 Service: 8/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Overall rating: 8.5/10 The food was really amazing! Fresh guac made table side, impressive table runners, and ample space for large parties. I did have to ask for water twice before r getting a refill, but we were a large party.

Pick Three - two chicken enchiladas one chicken taco. The salsa bar was the best.

Met up with some coworkers for lunch today--got seated right away, which is always a win. The patio was perfect with the beautiful weather, and it made the whole experience even better. The lunch portions were huge, and everything tasted fantastic. Definitely a spot worth going back to.

Recently stopped by for my second time and absolutely loved it. Great food, great service. The restaurant was a bit quieter than I expected but no worries they had all the energy. Multiple members of stay checked in to ensure we felt welcome and understood the menu. I had a frozen Margarita once before and it was too sweet, so the cocktail was much better received.

Stopped into one of our regular rotation spots, Las Carretas, which seldom disappoints, though this visit was a bit more mixed than usual. Our go-to is grabbing seats at the bar, easing in with a couple of cocktails, and working through chips and salsa before dinner. I started with the house margarita, which leaned on the sweeter side, but a quick lick of the salted rim paired with a chip dipped in their spicy salsa balanced things out nicely and kept me going back for another sip. My partner ordered the steak fajitas, while I stuck with one of my favorites, the Chori Pollo. I upgraded the standard pinto beans to charro beans for a $2 upcharge. The fajitas arrived sizzling with plenty of steak and a generous mix of peppers, onions, and squash, along with a solid plate of fixings. One miss was the portion of sour cream, noticeably light, and when we asked for more, a small ramekin was provided for an additional $1.75. My Chori Pollo delivered on flavor, with ample chorizo and a good layer of queso cheese. The charro beans were tasty, but the portion was quite small and leaned heavily on broth, leaving me wanting a bit more substance for the upcharge. The ambiance during our visit was relaxed and easygoing. We stopped in during the late afternoon, and it wasn't too crowded, which made for a comfortable bar experience. It's a great time to visit if you're looking to unwind without the typical dinner rush, plenty of space, manageable noise levels, and a laid-back vibe that lets you settle in and enjoy your meal. Service at the bar was slower than we've experienced in the past, and the overall friendliness felt a bit off compared to prior visits. The added charges for relatively small extras also stood out more than usual. One tip: don't overlook their condiment bar, a nice selection of salsas, picante sauces, and Pico de Gallo that can elevate your meal if you take advantage of it. Overall, still a reliable spot we'll return to, but this visit didn't quite match the consistency we've come to expect.

Absolutely recommend. Service and attention to traditional foods make this place a winner! Server/ bartender didn't speak English and my Spanish is BASIC! Thumbs . Great sign! He brought a small dish of a bean sauce to enjoy with my chips but THEN he recommended the salsa bar. Many to choose from! Loved three of my five selections! I ordered Chiles rellenos. This place is not afraid of heat! Seriously! There cheese filled chilies were the spiciest I had in a while! Most places scrape out all the membrane and seeds to control the heat, these folks let nature do her thing! Medium house margarita made the meal complete! Run, don't walk to Las Carretas Mexican when you're craving authentic flavors of Mexico!!

First visit and already looking forward to many more! I enjoyed the delicious and fresh tasting food. My dinner platter was the "Pollo Popeye". Was a great value for $19.99. The platter consisted of a char-grilled chicken breast topped with fresh spinach, mushrooms, and queso dip. Also came with rice and pinto beans. Somehow the flour tortillas didn't make it out to try but I also forgot to mention it to the server. Sometimes great tasting food makes ya forget a few things. Cool, casual and comfy ambience. My family enjoys dining here and I'm blessed to enjoy the foodie experience with them too!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! I've been here SO many times! Listen, I'm not typically a margarita drinker but I always get one here! Fair warning, the smalls are still large and the large are SO LARGE! Great service and staff. I love the tableside guac show and it is so good! All of the food I've ordered here has been really good. My favorite thing to get is the chargrilled chicken salad - their chicken is so juicy and good! I sometimes sub that with steak - equally tasty! I love that they were able to expand and have plenty of seating for larger groups. Recently we had a group of 10 and they were able to seat us without issue. I've enjoyed every meal here. Also, it does get busy but they tend to seat fairly quickly. I hope this place never closes!

The food was spectacular! We had a wonderful time here. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was lively. We must have hit a peak dinner time because it was packed! After we ordered I learned that there was a salsa bar, so I had to go see what they had to offer. There were several choices and some real winners in my opinion. We ordered shrimp tacos and the burrito master. The portions are really good sized. Along with the chips and salsa I was full and needed a to go box.

Las Carretas is now our Go-To Mexican restaurant on the East side of Orlando, so we had to go for Cinco de Mayo. We had a Blood Orange Margarita - very good - along with some complementary Tequila shots (for the event.) Service is always prompt and friendly here. I had the California Burrito (chicken) with the requested holds - no sour cream or queso - also excellent. Of course, they had the hot sauce and pickled vegetable bar as always - all you can eat. If you are on the East side of Orlando and hankering for Mexican food, give Las Carretas a shot. You won't be disappointed!

Birria Tacos with rice and beans.

I had the pleasure of meeting up with my friend group a Las Carretas Mexican restaurant this past weekend. There are only two locations in Florida; one in Gainesville and the other in unincorporated Winter Park off Goldenrod and University. They were recently voted some of the best Mexican food in 2025 in the Orlando Weekly. This places has an extensive menu of food to pick from; fajitas, everyone's favorite birria tacos, quesadillas, salmon, refried beans, etc. For all margarita lovers there are many choices from spicy, coconut, passion fruit, wild better, etc. Strawberry daiquiri, mojitos, and many other options are available too. I ordered the birria tacos which upon first glance looked small but are packed with meat so I had to take one home. The meal came with rice and beans and I at first ordered a mocktail mojito until good pressure from friends convinced me to order one of the margaritas (I ordered coconut). Let me give you a good friendly warning, the margaritas come in small and medium. Unless you have a designated driver small is enough (which is more like a medium) and the medium resembled a smaller punch bowl. There is ample seating and has the space to accommodate large groups as our group had 11 people with many tables, booths, and bar area. Two sets of restrooms are located one on either side of the restaurant. The staff greets you with a smile and that same happy cheerful energy is constant throughout your time at the restaurant. Birthday celebrations are fun with a sombrero hat to wear while happy birthday is song to you. A birthday shot comes at the end of the song but for those that don't want alcohol other options are available. For just a fun time with family and/or friends check this place out.

We returned home from a long cruise and had only a day to spend in Orlando. We decided to visit this restaurant after noticing its impressive 4.9 rating. We were seated promptly upon arrival. The restaurant was moderately busy, and David, our server, greeted us warmly. He even made fresh guacamole at our table, which was absolutely delicious! David was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended a drink that turned out to be an amazing choice. I ordered the burrito with steak, shrimp, and chicken. The food arrived quickly and was hot and filling. We had to walk it off, but it was a great meal overall. We will definitely return to this restaurant whenever we visit Orlando again. Oh and because it was my birthday the gave me a shot of tequila after singing happy birthday!

To say this place is busy its an understatement and to see how their servers navigate the place is nothing short of amazing. I won't speak on the authenticity of the food be cause I am not an expert. But I can tell you this the portions are Big and the food delicious! Also for the most the service is speedy. We were a large group and had kids with us which can cause some caos but the drinks flowed and everyone ate and took some home. The menu is extensive both for drinks and for food. The chimichangas were great even do, a bit more cheese wouldnt hurt, and my wife loved the fish and shrimp tacos. The place is very loud, and tables are cramped together so not great if you are looking for an intimate meal. Definately more of a party on atmosphere. I was a bit salty that the server forgot about me repeatedly and never refilled my drink, I thought maybe because soda water was free but nop I was charged for it, he also took a while to bring my wife's to go box and the check, but to be fair the other part of our group was clearly spending more on drinks. Tip was allready added to the check due to being a large group which is to be expected. All in all a fun busy yummy Mexican place that we will likely visit again.

I absolutely love the staff! I love bringing friends and family here who haven't heard of Las Carretas. The food always comes out fast! I usually get the Cali burrito with steak and table side guac (super fresh and delicious). I am a big margarita fan so I love how big their margaritas are. It's like a 2-for-1 in one big glass. I love the recent renovations they did as well! Definitely try them out :)

They do not have alcohol, but they have coronas and a margarita type glass premixed for purchase. That held us over for the time being. The chips and salsa were phenomenal.
