Was not expecting, as an east coaster, to pull up to a gas station with a Birria shop on the side of it. But I had looked up reviews on this place prior and everyone said they were some of the best in Encinitas. The beef was super tender and juicy. Please make your menu truthful and accurate... This place is brand new and seems really clean and I'm sure the food here is good but unfortunately I haven't been able to try it and I guess I won't be able to. I'm vegetarian and was excited to try this new spot out. I checked the menu online and they had a whole vegetarian column of options so I was stoked! I of course assumed that if they had a "vegetarian" column set aside on the menu that the items would in fact be vegetarian. When I got to the counter to order a "veggie burrito" from the "vegetarian menu" I asked the girl taking my order if the rice and beans were vegetarian (I alway try to confirm in person at a new spot to be safe) and to my disappointment she told me that the rice is made with chicken stock and that the beans were made with lard... UGH!!!!!! ‍ BUMMER!!!! Why on earth would you go as far as to make an actual "vegetarian" portion on the menu when the food is not actually vegetarian at all??!!!? I'm glad I asked because if I didn't and I just trusted what the menu said, I'd probably be feeling pretty sick. From the small interaction I had with the staff member she was very nice and I appreciate her telling me the truth about the ingredients but I definitely will not be returning here. I wish them the best of luck but I ask that you please, PLEASE have the menu reflect the truth about what you're actually serving. I love the food here, but you have to eat at the restaurant or get it to go. DON'T GET IT DELIVERED. They either get the order wrong or DON'T INCLUDE HOT SAUCE (despite multiple notes in the order to include it) about 75% of the time. I was ordering $50+ twice a week. And UberEats was even telling me that I was one of the "top customers" for this restaurant. They are constantly missing individual items, or giving the UberEats driver the entirely wrong orders. It's so frustrating to order $50+ worth of food and them not include any hot sauce. As I mentioned before, I put requests for hot sauce throughout the order. Their hot sauces are fantastic. Their food is some of my favorite. But man, the need to get together their process for delivery services. Also, please add a way to add additional cups of consume for the birria. They often completely forget to include it with items that say they have it, and other items that need it there is no way to add it separately. read more

Always delicious. This is a quick stop kind of place. It is located at the Chevron Gas Station and honestly I think that helps create the ambiance. The birria is always delicious. Full of flavor and juicy. The peppers are always spicy. Today I ordered birria burrito and asked for them to add in some fries. Absolutely delicious. The fries helped soak in some of those birria juices to keep it from falling apart too quickly (as most birria tacos do). They have 3 picnic tables outside on astro turf for some seating. The parking is as expected for a gas station. People are always coming and going. As you eat, you can watch the cars fly by on the freeway. 5/5.
