I asked the next person who came by to clean it, and she was happy to do it. It gave me hope that this was a minor issue, and we'd enjoy the rest. Unfortunately, it was the least of the issues. The server kept forgetting things we asked for and disappeared. We never got a refill on anything. He came back and apologized, but it seemed disingenuous. We were happy to leave, and unfortunately, we might not return - at least until we forget about this experience. If you've not had birria before, it's a meat cooked in broth. Then the meat is placed in a partially cooked tostada, folded and grilled. Think a taco with warm ingredients, instead for cold items put into a cooked shell. You dip them in the liquid the meat was cooked in, kinda like an au jus sandwich. It's great! Birria is originally from Jalisco, MX, (home of ranchero music and tequila, so they know something!) and was made from goat, because the Spanish gave the peasants goats. I walked up to the counter and the cashier/server took my order. The menu was written in both Spanish and English, but not all the items were translated. We got 2 fountain drinks, and I found dispenser for the horchata, so I got it. The tortilla was soft and was not greasy at all. The meat was very well seasoned, so different from Taco Bell's tacos and Old El Paso's. It was very well marinated and the amount they put was generous. Each of the toppings I added was worth paying 25 cents each.
