    Texas fajitas
    Amira I.

While visiting Auburn, Alabama, we tried this restaurant for the first time. We were seated immediately for dinner, and the service was excellent! They are a busy restaurant, but they have many servers, which I appreciate. We began with their chips and salsa and then moved on to their guacamole dip, which comes with fresh avocados, tomatoes, and jalapeños. The guacamole was delicious. We also ordered their Patron margarita and another drink, the name of which I can't recall but it contains rum, tequila, and some other liquor. Both drinks were delicious. We chose their Texas Fajitas for dinner, and liked that they have this dinner for two option. You can never go wrong with fajitas for the most part, and their fajitas came with tender sliced beef, chicken, and shrimp with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers. They come with a choice of flour or corn tortillas. The quantity was very generous, as shown by the photos below. The food is very flavorful and tasty. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the excellent service at this restaurant. I'm looking forward to returning to try more items on the menu. Take a look at the photos of the drinks and food.

Not a bad place to visit for lunch, but I'm used to Tex-Mex, which has different interpretations across the country. Service was meh because of being understaffed due to a lack of workers, so a little patience is needed even during a weekday lunch. With the rise of CV-19 in Alabama, you may want to take your own precautions as I believe most of the staff was not wearing masks. But it was 2-3 weeks ago when I visited, things might have changed. Chips and salsa were good, I could bathe in the salsa. Didn't receive the queso we had ordered, but luckily we weren't charged for it. Margaritas weren't bad, not the best either. Skinny margarita was VERY sweet - tasted mostly of the mix and no tequila. No kick to the strawberry margarita. Had the mixed fajitas with shrimp for lunch. Had good flavor, but the additional cheese that was coated on top of the meat made it into a soup. And the additional guac, for a 1 oz portion, was not a good deal for the price. Next time I would avoid both.

This is my second time at this restaurant. I absolutely love the food . The waiter was so friendly . The flaming fajitas was so good I couldn't finish it all so I took it with me ended up making nacho fajitas for later . I will definitely be returning to try other dishes. Clean restaurant as well as clean bathrooms.

This place is normally crowded but there was was not a large crowd due to the students are out of school. The drinks are made to order, I had a strawberry margarita frozen. Delicious! I love sweet drinks with a kick. I only had one drink but it was well worth it.

Happy Hour everyday 4-7pm. Buy 1 margarita on the rocks, get the 2nd half off!

This review is only about the drinks! Saw the sign outside saying "Happy Hour Daily 4-7pm" so we had to try it out. They had 22oz margaritas buy one, get one half off which is a steal. We also tried the piña colada and coronaRita, all delicious. They're not the strongest drinks, but they're huge so I'm not sure you'd want them to be extremely strong. The only food we had was the free chips and salsa. The salsa was kind of watery and didn't have much flavor.

Order the iguana! You'll love it!

Would be 5 stars if they had a drink inside of a pineapple. Queso fundito was fun. Salt was blue which is a plus. But still I would have loved a drink inside of a pineapple (like another Mexican restaurant down the road)

Ate lunch with my boss today, got to work to open up my good from when we took our orders to go and found a bug cooked in my food. I ordered the Tex-Me. I will never eat there again. The manager argued that I left and could've opened my plate to allow a bug in however that was not true. My good had been but into a container and put into a bag at the restaurant.

Shrimp cocktail, what's left of it!
    Steven R.

Delicious food. Had the shrimp cocktail and the Tiger Burrito and the rest of the family ordered shrimp and steak quesadillas! Wonderful!

Chunk of glass from Enchiladas Verde (to go order).

Average gringo-style Mexican restaurant. Large, dumpy, but totally acceptable food and service.

Finally…read moregot the chance to try it, and I don't know if the built up anticipation caused me to expect more or the restaurant just didn't meet some minimum standards. The host who sat us was friendly enough. The restaurant is spacious with the expected Mexican decorations. Our table was not clean, and the host didn't notice. I asked the next person who came by to clean it, and she was happy to do it. It gave me hope that this was a minor issue, and we'd enjoy the rest. Unfortunately, it was the least of the issues. The server kept forgetting things we asked for and disappeared. We never got a refill on anything. He came back and apologized, but it seemed disingenuous. We were happy to leave, and unfortunately, we might not return - at least until we forget about this experience. Like: Quesadilla (flavorful steak, but one side did not have any on it); cheese dip (didn't get a refill on chips) Dislike: Hawaiian fajitas (great flavor; steak was tough with gristles); service (kept forgetting things, didn't refill anything, disappeared)

The menu was disappointing kind of big but it was a more Americanized version of Mexican food and I was looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant for dinner. The photos of the food are of more authentic dishes, but when you come in, read the descriptions on the items you realize that the owners have pretty much designed or reimagined all the dishes but for an more American target audience - not a bad thing for them but not the experience I wanted. I order the flautas (rolled tacos) 4 came with the order, guac & sour cream plus lettuce and tomato (I asked for them to leave that off I wasn't going to eat it anyway) no rice or beans I had to order that extra (‍) My son ordered a French fry appetizer My mom a chicken & steak plate. The chips & salsa were ok. Salsa lacked any real spice or flavor it tasted like tomato and oregano. I didn't have any. I ordered an horchata & it was fresh & delicious & the mug it came in was also pretty cool looking. My son really enjoyed his fried zero complaints there they had queso, chorizo & pico on them. My mom enjoyed her plate as well. My food was "ok" the meat in my flautas lacked seasoning & they were extremely greasy. The guacamole was tasteless & looked very unappealing so I didn't eat that, the rice & beans were very good delicious actually, the rice was probably my favorite part of my meal. Overall good definitely not terrible just not terribly authentic maybe somewhere in the middle.

I ordered the house marg (always a good barometer of a place), and they brought out a nice chalice and some chips and salsa while I looked over the menu. Chips were warm, salsa was spicy and cool - perfect temperatures! The dining room is mostly multi-top tables scattered in rows. Families, couples, and other groups were scattered around. There was a sports team of 9-12 year-old boys and their families eating at one long double table which was a bit rowdy, but not overly so for that age. Didn't really bother me, but I have lived through that age, and had kids that I'd take out as well. I've been to louder fast food joints on a late Spring Saturday night. The bar service person was friendly and answered my questions about different food combos. I eventually selected the birria tacos, and they came out in maybe five minutes, hot, and accompanied by a nice bowl of soup/sauce for dipping. I dove in and forgot to take pictures, it was so good. If you've not had birria before, it's a meat cooked in broth. Then the meat is placed in a partially cooked tostada, folded and grilled. Think a taco with warm ingredients, instead for cold items put into a cooked shell. You dip them in the liquid the meat was cooked in, kinda like an au jus sandwich. It's great! Birria is originally from Jalisco, MX, (home of ranchero music and tequila, so they know something!) and was made from goat, because the Spanish gave the peasants goats. Stewing made the tough meat better. But now it's usually beef. I'd definitely return if I were back in the area. I was here to celebrate a family birthday. It was a nice way to end a tiring day.

I did some research on Google and Yelp and found this place, which seemed to have genuine, legit tacos. I've had a good feeling about this restaurant, because I've never heard about it, not many people knows or reviewed it, but it still had good reviews. It was next to Winn Dixie strip mall on South College. It's also next to Panda (local Chinese, not Panda Express), my favorite American-style Chinese restaurant. I've always thought that La Plaza was a Mexican supermarket, but my friend who has been here before told me it's actually half supermarket and half restaurant. This friend also learned about this place through his friends, and only had their food by take-out. When I entered, there were only about 5-6 people dining: but no Americans. I walked up to the counter and the cashier/server took my order. The menu was written in both Spanish and English, but not all the items were translated. The cashier/server's English was very limited so I had trouble communicating what I wanted. My friend and I ordered 3 tacos (2) each, which you can choose the meat and also add toppings (lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, cheese) for 25 cents each. We got 2 fountain drinks, and I found dispenser for the horchata, so I got it. However, it was my first time getting non-gourmet horchata (my very first was from NYC's Chelsea Market) and it was too distilled and sweet). Next to the wall was salsa stand with 5-6 types of salsas. I've observed how non-American customers were eating, and I noticed that they ordered the tacos by itself and only added the salsa, without all the toppings I added. When I received my taco basket, I was surprised, because I didn't know how to grab it and put it into my mouth. It was made with two thin layers of tortilla and generous amount meat and the toppings I added (which was all). Having a small mouth, which isn't very popular at a dentist, I was so frustrated with the amount of food they put on my taco, which was even hard to wrap around with the tortilla. The tortilla was soft and was not greasy at all. The meat was very well seasoned, so different from Taco Bell's tacos and Old El Paso's. It was very well marinated and the amount they put was generous. Each of the toppings I added was worth paying 25 cents each. I was sincerely surprised by the price, taste, and the amount I received from this restaurant, and I can't wait to come back to this restaurant.
