We stopped here during a road trip for a quick bite to eat. When we came inside we were kindly seated and ordered drinks which came out quickly. Very good and very well priced. I'm based out of Chicago, and I always stop here to eat. I highly recommend the Grilled Chicken Salad. Simple but delicious with the salsa on top. Definitely a hidden gem in southern Indiana, about 15 minutes north of Holiday World, 5 minutes north of Interstate 64. While I was visiting my family who lives in the area, they had not heard of the place and we went with the good reviews here on Yelp. Simple restaurant in a small shopping strip with a large variety menu. Nice chips and salsa to get things rolling. Mom had an excellent chicken taco salad, I had a very good Texas burrito but my sister had the winner with the steak fajitas. They were excellent! Split the full order with a friend for sure!! Well worth travelling all the way to the other side of Ferdinand (which is a very small town) to find a really good Mexican restaurant. No reason to eat with the usual suspects around the Interstate exit when this is here. I'll be back. Mid-afternoon on Sunday, every other little place in town had no cars, this one had several and many customers inside. We happened to sit near at least three families who seemed to have a pent the early part of the afternoon at the local church picnic.....and stopped here on the way home! I can't say one bad thing so I have to give 5 stars. I usually stick with 4 for places I really like but this one has some really, really good food. The prices are very fair and the service was spot on. I'm stuffed and me meal was exceptional. I would need the menu again to tell you what it was. It was a meal I have never seen at any Mexican restaurant before. It was carnitas Molcajete and It comes in a hot stone bowl which I believe is what gives it its name. With onion avocado slices and a type of cactus that I've also never eaten before. It was very good. Salsa wasn't bad either. read more

Nice place, great food. This was our first time here but not our last. I really like the big menu with lots of choices. What I really liked was the fact that there were several dinner options that included steak, chicken AND shrimp. I had the quesadilla grande which had all three. It was excellent! Run of the mill mexican restaurant. I have never had any issues with the food or the service. I do have to say the cashier the last two times I have been in the place makes me not want to return. A simple thank you would be nice. I understand you don't care what I think as long as I pay so don't bother asking me if everything is ok. Based on reviews, we were expecting at least decent Mexican food. Wrong, not even close to decent food. I just want to know what kind of Mexican food all the people giving this place five stars have eaten. It is pretty hard to f-up fajitas, but they managed to with packaged over-salted "seasoning" drowning any flavor. Flautas were dripping in fat and filling had zero flavor. When I saw the high review for this place is was so excited to try it. Just being 2 miles off interstate 64 it seemed like a nice option to the typical fast food you do on a road trip. However, this Mexican restaurant was subpar at best. The food was what you would expect to get at your local Mexican restaurant, and tasted like all other Mexican restaurants-the chips salsa- all the same. The food was fine, what really didn't do it for me was the service. It was very slow. The restaurant was not busy and we had to ask for refills on drinks and chips several times. We also could not get anyone to bring our check. I was also disappointed with the cleanliness. It was raining that day and it looked like an air vent was leaking from the ceiling near one of the tables. The bathroom also was not as clean as I like. There was trash on the floor and needed some fixing up. If you're road tripping on 64, in the mood for typical Mexican, and not in a hurry give it a try. read more

Went to Holiday World and stopped here afterwards, it was terrible! Slow service, wrong food came out, and when they finally staggered everything out, mine was cold, my wife's steak was burnt and was real chewy like it came out of the microwave and the kids each took about 3 bites and said they didn't like it. Insult to injury had to wait forever to get the darn check and it was even wrong, but the waiter and the man at the cash register could not speak hardly any English so I just paid it.
