I REALLY wanted to like Ageless Beauty, but I was unfortunately disappointed with my overall experience. I went in the day before my birthday for a dermaplaning facial, which I have received before at a different salon/spa. I'll start with the good: -the receptionist and my service provider (Raven) were super nice! -location was easy to find, didn't have any trouble finding parking -Raven was very thorough in making sure my *entire* face was dermaplaned. I don't think she missed a single hair on my face. Ugh, now the bad: - right when I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelled like a wet basement, which was a little unnerving given that this is supposed to be a clean, spa-like environment. The room I received my facial in also smelled like wet basement. - in the past, when I have had facials, there is a blanket on the table, the table is often heated, they have you change into a comfortable towel/robe, it's just a more spa-like experience. However, here, I was just instructed to lay on the spa table in my clothes, no blanket or anything. - there was some type of fruit fly or gnat-like bug all over this room. I'm talking like 20+ little bugs, and I only noticed one during my service, but when I got up to leave I saw a TON by the door of the room. - Raven did my dermaplaning, and unfortunately she cut me twice within the first minute or two of starting the service. I understand this is a risk while undergoing a dermaplaning facial, but these felt like sloppy mistakes due to her rushing/going too fast. This led to me feeling super anxious and stressed the rest of the time, given that she's using a medical grade scalpel for the dermaplaning - After the dermaplaning portion of the facial, she put a red light therapy device over my face and while that was going she was supposed to be doing a hand massage for me (her words). However, she told me that she had hurt her back the previous day and was in too much pain to do my hand massage. This was arguably the most concerning part of the whole thing, given that she was just using a scalpel on my face for the last 20 minutes but apparently wasn't in too much pain to do that. So she sat there for 10 minutes doing nothing while the red light therapy device was on. I found that very odd. - I said in the "good" section that Raven was very thorough, however, on my chin/jaw area she may have been a bit too thorough. I have had dermaplaning done before, so I know what to expect, and she scraped WAY too much of my skin off in this area. She went over this area so many times, and as it was happening I knew that it was too much. It felt like I had got a burn (minus the pain) and there was raw new skin. This was not ideal, and slightly uncomfortable over the next several days. Also, I think the address is wrong for this location. It's 1144 Wealthy St. The facial was $75 which is relatively on the low end of facial prices, so I suppose you get what you pay for... but I was still disappointed in the overall experience here. Recently I had Kara do my brow shape and tint. I had never had this service before and honestly was skeptical because I have (or thought I had, ha!) pretty decent brows. But wow, I am now a repeat customer! I don't have to touch them at all when doing my makeup, such a timesaver! Kara was quick, professional, and I left feeling extremely confident. It has been just about a year since I started seeing Felicia at Ageless Beauty and let me tell you, I have never looked and felt as confident with my skin as I do now. I am someone who has always struggled with severe acne and I felt like I had literally tried just about everything under the sun to "cure" it (ProActiv, Clinique's Acne Solutions system, many prestige brand acne treatments (which included hundreds of dollars spent at ULTA), topical acne cream prescriptions, topical and oral antibiotics, many birth controls, a round of Accutane, changing my diet, etc.). Last year was my wedding year, so I wanted my skin to be glowing. Felicia was highly referred to me by a friend and I decided to schedule an appointment. I'll admit - I knew nothing about facials, chemical peels, etc. when I walked into Ageless Beauty. All I had ever known was prescriptions and generic 3-step acne cleansing systems. From the day I walked in to the present, Felicia has always been super understanding, welcoming, informative, and shows a genuine interest in her willingness to help me improve my skin. My treatments are always thoroughly explained, and my questions are always answered, whether that is while I'm with her for an appointment or in-between appointments. Thanks to Felicia's knowledge along with my consistency, my face has never looked as good as it does now. I actually get compliments about how great my skin looks (which is honestly something that I never thought would happen)!!! The plan Felicia put in place to treat my acne included chemical peels, microdermabrasion, consistently using an at-home Face Reality system, and consciousness of the use of products that can cause flair ups. I recently had a lash lift and tint at Ageless Beauty. I have been struggling with Bells Palsy for the past 2 months, and unable to wear mascara due to the facial palsy. I have been going to Felicia for years, and she recommended a lash lift and tint. Not only do my lashes look great, but the lift/tint also helped with keeping my lashes out of my eye on the effected side. I am very pleased with the service and outcome. read more

I booked an acne facial with Kayley and I wanted to really love this place. She was just super harsh on my skin and she only sometimes told me what she was putting on my face. During extractions she was super harsh to the point where it swelled up my entire face and it hurt extremely bad, but she never made sure I was okay or if anything hurt. After extractions my face was burning the entire time and she would go harshly over my skin with a wash cloth. I left the place embarrassed by how swelled my face got from how harsh the facial was. Day later my skin has huge marks that weren't there before. Overall not a great experience. read more

I have been been going to Ageless Beauty for close to 4 years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I love my monthly visits and girl talk with the staff. I've seen several of the estheticians and they are all friendly and provide wonderful quality work! I have received sugaring, eye lash extensions, and an eye lash tint and lift. I have done my research around the Grand Rapids area and their prices are a great value for the outstanding quality of work you receive. I had previously tried other locations for sugaring and eye lash extensions prior to coming here, and trust me when I say that there is definitely a difference!!! Felicia of Ageless Beauty was a delight to work with as I prepped for my wedding. She has a small, private office on the second floor of the Eastown Salon (use the side door to enter). Her space is charming with pretty touches and relaxing music. It was my first time having a chemical peel and she calmed my nerves by explaining, step by step, what she was putting on my face and what I could expect. My skin felt tighter, my pores were smaller, and my skin was brighter with no redness or immediate peeling afterwards. I was able to walk out without makeup and not feel self-conscious. After my second peel, I noticed my dark spots has already started to fade and my skin texture has improved. She also introduced me to a Microderm skin product that I fell in love with and use at home now. Her prices are pretty reasonable for this type of salon service and she's flexible with scheduling. We had one a mix up with times for one appointment: She had me down for a different date and time than what I needed. I showed up on the day I thought we were meeting and called her when she wasn't there. She was very kind about the mix up and came right over to help me out; putting her personal schedule aside to help a customer. So to start off the salon is nice and the person that helped me was very nice. But I'm giving this place one star because I was given wrong information and things were NOT explained to me. Now I have scabs on my face from getting a chemical peel. I was not told anything about getting scabs. They also told me to put on petroleum jelly afterwords and then exfoliate my face everyday for a week. I've now done research and talked to other people that have done chemical peels and you should NOT exfoliate. I'm very frustrated that they didn't properly explain everything to me and they clearly are not trained well enough to give this treatment. My face is now pretty tender and is sore, I regret ever getting this treatment on my face. Sad to say I won't be returning to this salon anytime soon read more
