When he called back, I mentioned a different quote as an example to the detail I was asking (if the wood they would use is treated cedar) and he immediately said it sounds like a price thing for y'all and we are doing big jobs right now so if you like the other company I suggest you go with them. I was so caught off guard and just said ok I guess we will do that. Needless to say they did not seem like they would be very helpful to someone like me who does not know anything about fences and may need to ask some questions. No amount of being busy should call for that type of customer service.

When I asked the owner about why the communication from our sales rep was so inconsistent regarding the start date for our job, he didn't deny it - but he seemed genuinely annoyed that I would question them about their process, and acted like I was wasting his time. When he discovered their operations manager didn't inform me of the project start date per their usual process, he quickly dismissed it as an anomaly. The more specific my questions were, the more visibly irritated he became, then he just walked away. He didn't seem to care about making things right, he just wanted to move on. They will tell you one thing, deny it later, and push back at you to make it seem like the customer is the problem. Proceed with caution.
