The work the team did was beautiful and a great value for the price. We went a little over 10% over budget, which is just about what I expected for a project like this, and I was pleasantly surprised that we actually finished a few days early. The work comes with a 3-year warranty too (which we needed in the past and have had no trouble using), which gives extra peace of mind. Each person on the project - Elena the project manager, Juan the site supervisor, Alexa the designer, John the estimator, and especially the lead technician Cornelio was a pleasure to work with. As with any renovation, there are always surprises and hiccups along the way, but the team handled everything professionally, even when I was stressed and occasionally cranky. One thing of particular note was how much the team was willing to work with me when the inevitable surprises came up. There are things that nobody can foresee, which usually results in a change order and extra cost, but then there are those little things where everyone leaves a conversation with a different impression. In those latter instances, I always really appreciated how willing everyone was to meet me halfway and to make sure I felt good about how things were going and confident that we were doing right by each other. All showcase quality IMO. Thus, we've plenty of recent experience with KBS outfit and feel confident in making the highest recommendation. In summary - KBS is not too big nor too small, not too expensive but not cheap, so they were just right for us - average homeowners who seek the very best value. In this regard, KBS was just right. Some highlights........ 1) The crew is experienced and cohesive. They've been together for a good long time. They work well together and we never observed inefficiency. They just work hard all day long. 2) I never had to worry about workers in our home. Honest, polite, professional, kind, and responsive are words I'd use to describe them. 3) Communications were timely and valuable. My advice is to take notes of every communication for reference. In one case we forgot it was our responsibility to acquire an appliance. Uh oh, it was our fault and a written record would have been useful to refer to. Yikes! 4) The budget estimates were honored. there was no bait and switch. Prices were transparent to us. 5) We enjoyed reviewing recommended selections of cabinets, floor, hardware, appliances, sinks etc. Today, we feel somewhat knowledgeable with KBS as our tutors. 6) Cleanup and construction debris was timely. Thanks! 7) The crew was OK with our two dogs. I think our doggies missed them when the jobs were done. Final note: The sign of a great contractor is NOT that nothing goes wrong. Rather it is how the contractor responds when something does go wrong. In this regard, KBS took care of problems I was not even aware of, and when I was, they swarmed to make it right ASAP. For example, a quartz kitchen countertop cracked. Surprised. The piece was faulty. The crack was not due to poor installation. We only had to make one call to Dan who took care of it. Easy peasy. No hassles or haggles about responsibility or cost. Perfect. I've a few more impressive examples. So the more work we observed, the more confident we became in KBS. In my life "trust" is earned and hard to achieve in the contracting world. So, it is with pleasure to say KBS was trusted. We'd hire them again whenever we have a future need. Simply excellent!

This was a big project and from the moment we met with Dan, we knew we wanted to work with him. He helped us redesign our first floor (including kitchen and bathroom), meeting with us multiple times to come up with a design that worked for our needs. He helped us figure out what materials and design elements worked for our home, really going above and beyond to help us make a lot of decisions. His experience meant that he was able to take our vision of what we wanted our home to be and turn it into reality. The actual project itself could not have gone better. The crew was phenomenal. Their attention to detail and quality of work was exquisite. We did not run into a single issue for this entire project and the final result massively exceeded our expectations. From the start, Tile Center made this piece of our process easy and pleasant, and we love the outcome. As project manager, Joe was incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with. He came to our house very quickly after our initial outreach, returned later with grout samples, and walked us through options at the showroom. He always responded quickly to emails and texts. He helped us navigate tile shortages and advised us when we needed to order from a third party. Thomas, the installer, was also fantastic. His work is beautiful, and on top of that, he was just incredibly lovely to be around. He not only tolerated, but was awesomely kind to, our very loud and unhelpful dog! He also went above and beyond dealing with various issues that arose. James, who came on one of the days, was also great. On top of everything else, we really appreciated how both Joe and Thomas worked things out so that we could live in the house throughout the installation. That was really helpful as far as both hassle and the potential extra cost of lodging. We got porcelain wood-look tiles, and we really like the outcome (see picture). 100% recommend.

He made many changes along the way to fit my changing needs. Every part of the very involved wall unit came out exactly as i needed. The wall unit is absolutely stunning and is practical and useful as well. It came out better than I had anticipated- like a work of art with quality parts. The 2nd item was a very sleek, modern fireplace surround to replace our dated one. He helped coordinate the stone, fireplace replacement and the piece he built for us is really beautiful- all one piece, no seams. He's a very friendly man and he was personally there for both installs to make sure that everything was perfect. My husband and I need to find another project for him. He is on the higher end price wise, but for really quality custom pieces, we felt it was worth it.
