I had my kitchen remodeled and chose Maryland Carpet & Tile to install the flooring. Their sales staff worked with me to find the perfect product and once the flooring arrived, they were able to schedule installation very quickly so that there was no delay in my contractor's ability to complete the remodel. They came in and leveled the entire space and installed the laminate tiles. From the sales staff to the installers they were extremely helpful, informative, professional, and friendly. I was very please with everything and my floor looks great. Even when we developed a small issue a few year later, they were very responsive and quick to assess and correct it. They even covered the cost. I was was taken back by their concern and willingness to stand by their products and service. Everything started out smoothly. Jacob arrived to my house and we discussed the project we wanted done. Replace laminate flooring with carpet for the majority of our basement. Carpet was supposed to go all the way to the pillar shown in the picture. Jacob explained that due to where the laminate was installed, they were able to get very close to the pillar, roughly 1 inch away. We agreed to this and a quote was received and approved. When the installers arrived, I explained to them everything as I explained to Jacob, including installation up to the pillar. They asked if they were doing the stairs too, and I said no. This should have been the first red flag of miscommunication. When the work was done, I noticed that the carpet did not reach the pillar as we have discussed. It was roughly 2 vinyl planks away (over a foot away!). The installers told them Jacob only told them 17ft installation, not to the pillar. Which was odd, since I specifically told the installers that it should have gone up to the pillar. If there were some confusion, why did they not ask me about it? At this point, it was too late to fix. Jacob arrived and confirmed it as supposed to go the pillar, and further confirmed that it was too late to do anything. By failing to remove all the vinyl planks up towards the pillar, this also caused the end of the carpet to not be able to be tucked under the laminate. Now there is an area of the carpet that sticks out as well, also shown in the picture. Finally, our basement has a step down area. By removing the laminate, it exposed a gap in my baseboard. I would have hoped that the installers would have asked us how to proceed, rather than just ignoring it and proceeding. So now I have more imperfections due to the carpet installation. At the end of the day, the carpet was mostly installed as we requested. Just wished that the communication would have been better. Now I am stuck with imperfections in my basement. The ironic part is, the leftover roll of carpet they provided me would have been enough to cover the area they failed to install. read more

Recently had all the carpet in my home replaced with LVP, and I thought it was going to be a nightmare of a project but thank goodness for Tim and his great team who made everything go as smoothly as possible! We compared several vendors in the area, and Maryland Carpet & Tile were by far the most responsive and also the most reasonably priced. It did take some time to get the material since it was during the holidays, but as soon as that was done, Tim was able to schedule the installation, which was completed in just 3 days, plus an extra 2 days to sand and stain the stairs! Carpet installation was quick and easy and the only knock I have is that a few pieces of furniture were not put back into the spots they belonged. I have them a pass on this because these guys are not movers, they bust their humps day in day out and I am young enough to move them myself. Investment Property - Condo Germantown. Their craftsmanship, attention to detail, customer service and value are second to none. My project ran into several snafus (not the fault of MCT, but due to the fact my dwelling is OLD) and each obstacle was carefully explained to me, I was given multiple options and they did not consider the job done until I was 100% satisfied. The work is flaweless and unlike other carpet/hardwood places their prices is all inclusive; i didn't have to pay extra to have furniture moved or have the space cleaned. This company came highly recommended by a friend and I found their work and business practices totally unacceptable. I contracted with them for two jobs at my son's recently purchased home. One was to install carpet in the recreation room and the other was to refinish the hardwood floors. Ali texted me to schedule the carpet installation and then did not answer my texts that day or the next to schedule the time and day. When he did not respond, I called him and he did not answer and I left a message. He then called back to say that they were at the house doing the installation. I told him that he did not have permission to enter the house without my knowledge and that I was very mad. As a result, I do not know if the floor was properly prepared, or if the upgraded padding was installed. Upon examination of the finished product there was a 15" long area of carpet along a cabinet where they installed the nail strip at the edge and did not install the padding, resulting in an unsightly trough along the entire edge. As a result I had to pay another carpet company to fix the deficiency. ( see photos) The hardwood floors have spots where the boards have not been properly sanded and look wavy and other areas are uneven. The shoe molding was installed in a crude and amateurish manner with poor joints, choppy ends, huge gaps and too many staples. None of the staple holes were filled. As a result I had to pay another contractor to remove and reinstall the shoe molding and fill the holes. (see photos) I scheduled a meeting post with the owner Michael and he told me that the upgraded padding was added and floors in rec room were properly prepared. I showed him the skuffed up walls and dented trim and he said this was normal. I showed him the floors and molding and he said that million dollar homes have installation done in that manner. At no time did he apologize or ask to repair the faulty work. He did send me a bill for the entire amount. To summarize this caused me great aggravation, time and contracting with other businesses to FIX MD Carpet and Tile's work. This was a very bad experience.
