It's corona time and we've hit the next stage; home improvement projects. Called ahead and saw they were open and after many friends told us about the hardcore adulting that happens early morning on the weekends, we decided to check it out. My husband is doing our hardwood flooring and I have never felt so useless! I'm glad he's done it before and also glad the associate, Manny, was so helpful in loading our 30 boxes and also made sure we had the flooring installation kit and under laminate to go with it. Manny was knowledgeable and efficient. The registers were a bit busy because the phone lines were ringing nonstop and wish they prioritized people waiting in line but all good. Got there early and glad we did because the lot got a lot fuller as we were leaving. We only stuck to the flooring side for now but will return to check out tiles and things for bathroom and kitchen next! read more

I have always had pleasant experiences with this store - sometimes things go out of stock, but that's just the way things are nowadays. Twice when I've been to this store I have seen *awful* customers treating the staff horribly. There's just NO reason to yell and curse and swear and I feel so sorry for staff who have to put up with this level of nonsense. I recently had what I thought was going to be a challenging experience and I was directed to Rosa who took such good care of me and was so kind. I know how tough it can be to work customer service, especially when people can be so unkind and hostile. Ordered Ada ramp online from this company Three weeks ago. Product was said to be delivered in 1 week period. Still haven't received tracking number . 3 times the manager has committed to call back with tracking number and has not . I have now asked for my money back three times. Bottom Line: Lots of reasonably priced tile and flooring selections in a large warehouse setting. A contractor recommended that I look at Floor & Decor for tile for various home projects. I was groaning about having to drive the hour out to Gaithersburg but as it turns out, it was worth the trip. My husband and I arrived prepared like we were going to battle to - we wore comfy clothes, packed drinks and snacks and hauled in our various cabinetry samples. After two hours of purposefully cruising the aisles we had some final-ish selections for our bathroom, entryway and wet bar. It was an exhausting but productive trip. Here is what I liked about Floor & Decor: - The website makes it easy to do some research ahead of visiting. There are lots of filtering options (material, color, format, etc.) - The store is nicely organized - glass tile, natural stone tile, porcelain tile, hardwood floors, luxury vinyl etc. Also, the signage is great. I appreciate that for the displays they have indicated both the tile and the grout used. - All of the tile seems very well priced which is what took us an hour out of our way. Of the various places I've looked Floor and Decor definitely has the best prices which is great for big projects. - When I flagged down employees for assistance they were helpful. - You can buy single pieces of tile if you just want a sample versus being straddled with a case. Whether its a sample piece or extra you can return unused product. - Special orders are not required since all selections on display are in stock. You just load up your cart and go. Here is what could have made this experience a tad better: - There was several tile selections that were listed on the website as being in stock at the Gaithersburg store but they weren't actually in stock. It was also challenging to find some of the items we flagged online but employees were helpful in either locating them for us or looking them up in the computer to see the real inventory counts. - The fluorescent lighting at Floor & Decor is a bit harsh so we bought seven tiles so we could see how they looked in our home in both daylight and at night. When we went to return some of the tiles a week later at the Alexandria Floor & Decor store the employee said one of them showed up as already being returned so they would only give us store credit. I have no idea why it would show up as already being returned but that certainly wasn't the case and this oddity wasn't my fault. We were impressed with the business model, organization, selection and prices at Floor & Decor Gaithersburg that we went to the Alexandria store as well. read more

Huge inventory, conveniently located (although there aren't that many locations), and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Eduardo, for example, was proactive and friendly when he genuinely offered to help load extremely heavy floor and wall tiles onto my cart as well as offer to load them into the trunk of my car. Checkout was fast, with almost no wait in line (this ain't no Home Depot!), and the cashier was upbeat, efficient, and professional. They even keep a record of your purchases via telephone number (voluntary, of course), in case you have a return and might misplace your receipt--which I embarrassingly often do. I wonder why more stores don't offer this kind of service! Do some price comparisons; not everything is cheaper here but I found that certain floor ceramic tiles and wall porcelain tiles were cheaper than at the local Lowe's and Home Depot. read more

I came in last week without an appointment, which I know is such a challenge as I use to work in retail. Maria Sanchez greeted me kindly and warmly and thankfully she didn't hesitate to help! I needed help designing two bathrooms and new flooring for the basement. She was very pleasant, amusing, and accommodating. She answered any and all questions to help me really dial in on the design I was looking to achieve. She really has a knack for picking out the perfect tiles and floor for every budget, because let's face it, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on home renovation is a doozy. He was able to answer all our questions and gave us very good and helpful information as we are do-it-yourselfers. What I also liked about Mike is that he talked to me and not just to my husband. He was super friendly and wasn't tired of us grabbing him a second time to answer a few additional questions. This Floor and Decor is not as big as the ones in Alexandria and Woodbridge but it is sufficiently stocked. Last night, 5/16, I came to the store for a pickup of some tile since I had already purchased the merchandise at the Alexandria store but they did not have enough boxes. In the Alexandria store I was told that the Gaithersburg store was open until 10 PM. We got to the store at 9PM (270 traffic is a monster) and the store was closed because they close at 9PM. Ok, yes I should have checked the web but I relied on a company associate, shame on me and when calling the store main number it says the store closes at 10PM. When we get there yes the store is CLOSED but Joel informed me that I still would not be able to pick up my merchandise because merchandise pickup is only available 7 AM-7 PM Monday thru Friday. FYI, All stores should have the same hours or at least associates should be briefed on other area store hours since it is only 3 in the area & they are referring customers. Ok...left, came back today 5/17 for the pick up which I did receive, YAY I also wanted to do a return of some tile that I had purchased a few months ago that I no longer needed. Ok, there were male associates that were in the area conversing with the cashier whom did not even offer to help remove the tile from the cart but a gentleman customer behind me asked me if I needed help (he doesn't work in the store) but by that time I was already lifting the last part of the tile. When the male associates co worker asked him to assist her, he did (I didn't know as a customer I had to ask for assistance ‍) he moves the tiles to an empty register and he scanned them at which point it was determined that the tile had been discontinued. Got quoted the return policy of 90 days and it's F&D's right of refusal in accepting returns but my funds were returned. I just wanted to make note of the inconsistency in service. Wow! I wish I had come to the store before I ever started shopping in the big box stores for my bathroom floor and wall tile. Not only did I find exactly what I needed, but it turns out I had to choose from 10 favorites. I also found the vanity in the marble slab. I wanted and I didn't even know the store had that stuff. The best part, though was the service. Very friendly young man named Naijah offered to help me, followed me around so I could show him all the choices I had, answered all of my questions about pricing and square feet, carried the tile out to my car for me, and wished me a happy holiday. read more

First and foremost Danene was absolutely amazing with helping us pick out all things tile, grout and design. She was energetic, knowledgeable and patient. What seemed like an arduous task to us became a really fun and confident one working with Danene. She called upon some of her colleagues (Tony and Zay) and they were knowledgeable, kind and helpful too. Customer service that is exemplified such as this, keeps a customer returning for more items to buy. We visited the Leesburg store a couple of times, but never had the acknowledgment or assistance like we received in Gaithersburg. This is a hard review for me to write. First, the tile selection was very good and the prices are good. Buying the tile would rate a 4 or 5. The negative part of my review involves their policy to not take back any returns at the current time. They are blaming it on the ongoing crisis. It is a bad policy. I had the most unprofessional experience with a Floor and Decor associate that has scared me away as a customer. As someone who works in retail, I was shocked by the lack of customer service and disregard for a potential sale. I'm in the market for floor tiles. I'm in the process of renovating the bathroom floors throughout my house. My boss recommended floor and decor to me. She suggested I make an appointment with the manager in the design center, her mother. Since she suggested it and she was in front of me, I asked my boss to set it up on my behalf. She agreed to it and instantly called the store on speakerphone. A young woman answered the phone with a warm and pleasant greeting/tone. My boss proceeded to ask to speak with her mother by name. Possibly after recognizing my boss' voice, the young woman became annoyed, changed to an angrier tone and said there were no personal calls allowed. She suggested my boss call or text her moms cellphone, stated the phones were ringing off the hook and hung up. I was in a bit of shock. The young woman didn't know what the call was for. She didn't gather any information. She assumed she knew who she was speaking to and it was all bad. It was just very rude. I'd rather not deal with rude people. I would never buy online from here again. Time and time again, the inventory levels shown online are completely wrong, and the only response is that they are managed manually. The only way to know what a store has in stock is to go in and visually check. Note that despite not having accurate inventory levels, if you want to ship between two stores, they charge for freight. Customer service does not help and matter of factly let's you know that you either pay for freight between stores or drive to another location. If there's a tile that you're dying for, be prepared to drive hours and hours for it. It's a shot in the dark though whether or not it's there since inventory isn't updated. read more

One of the managers there, Greg - was very helpful to answer all the questions I had with tiling. He took extra time to find the tiles I needed with the others colors that I was trying to synch with. Basically, he helped to find the correct tiles for the bathroom and flooring. I felt like I got an interior decorator and a contractor at the same time. He was able to pull some items that were not in the store, and ordered from another location made my purchase very easy. Floor & Decor - Flooring I got today - Home Decor Near Me - Gaithersburg, Maryland

I am writing about this store for the second time and with exactly the amount of frustration I experienced the first time. I purchased more tile than it turned out that I needed on Feb 12, 2023. Now my project has finally been completed. I am past the 90 days by about 12 days where returns with original receipts are "processed by the same method of payment from your original purchase" (as per the original sales receipt I am holding in my hand as I write this). But I am just past the 90 days and the project took longer than I expected because of scheduling issues. The original receipt also says that "Returns over 90 days of original purchase or without an original sales receipt are subject to system approval. Approved return transactions over 90 days from purchase or without an original sales receipt will be processed to merchandise credit." I asked what was meant by "system approval" and was told something that made no sense whatsoever--something about if the card used for the purchase was no longer available or something along those lines. This "system approval" suggests to me that exceptions to the 90 day policy can be made. But I was not even offered anything to see if the delay I experienced because of scheduling for the project would be considered. I do not want merchandise credit because I will not purchase anything more from this Floor & Decor. I find my interactions with this store (and maybe it is all Floor & Decor stores but this is the one I used) to be completely dissatisfying. Trying to get through on the phone is frustrating in itself but then the associates are less than helpful when you actually do get one to answer the phone. I am glad I called before I drove the hour to get to the store only to be told (once again) that I would not be refunded my money. I will not shop there again and will let everyone else I know who takes on projects where this store might be considered not to do it. Horrible business practices. read more

I don't know where to begin to describe how BAD our experience was with Floor and Decor in Gaithersburg, MD. Let me give you the basics: Brand.New.Home, no furniture, nothing to move. Installers: Braz Flooring, LC aka installationmadeeasy.com Installers had to remove the builder installed carpet and LVP. 2566 sqft, $22,000 in materials from F&D, $2,5K in materials from Home Depot, LL Flooring, etc.. $11K in installation charges. $700 in delivery charges! WTF, right! We get 94 of 106 boxes of flooring initially. Installer from Braz flooring says "Flooring is defective, you need to pick something else." Ok, I've invested a month getting this flooring, and oh by the way, all my cabinets and tile are predicated on having THIS flooring installed. I've gone from a 2 - 2.5 day install to "maybe never" My wife and I drive 30 miles from our current home to the new home and find that the flooring looks OK to us. We approve the installation with a signed caveat that we can't hold Braz Flooring, LLC liable. Four days later: The project manager calls and says they need 6 more boxes of flooring and 3 more roles of underlayment to complete the job. Remember - we're still short 12 boxes of flooring, and have purchased all the underlayment that was estimated. I pay the $1,000 + to keep the project moving. Four days into our 2.5 day installation, the Braz Flooring LLC crew takes off, telling us they will be back next week to finish. The Braz Flooring, LLC installers come back the next week and finish the installation, leaving all the excess flooring, underlayment, cleats (flooring nails), quarter-round etc. at my house. Unfotunately, they didn't: 1) install the expensive color matched quarter round we ordered and paid for; 2) did not install the molding under our stair treads as promised; 3) did not return the excess inventory for credit to our account, and 4) over charged us for delivery. FYI, I did send an email to the store manager. He told me he was on vacation and would respond upon his return. He did not. My wife and I went into the store to address the issues. A waste of time. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. Don't EVER hire Braz Flooring LLC for anything. If you can purchase materials from anywhere other than Floor and Decor, do so. read more

Today I was shopping at Floor & Decor in Gaithersburg, MD. I did not intend to purchase anything, just looking. I was looking for a certain color of tile for a kitchen backsplash, green. I didn't see what I wanted, but an employee asked if they could help me. His name is Naijha. He looked at the displays with me and then went to the computer to look online. That's when I saw the color I wanted. He took the time to look on the floor based on the location area in the system. He located the item and gave me the amount I needed. Naijha escorted me to the register to pay and then to my car to unload. This employee was so helpful and friendly. I noticed the other employees were working well together, also. I spent a lot of money (for me) on tile and supplies for a bathroom remodel. My first great experience was with the design team, who were PHENOMENAL and patient! Thanks to them I got everything I needed! Unfortunately I realized (too late) that the tile for the floor contained several discolored pieces. This wound up being a huge problem because the contractors installed the tile which I later had to have removed. When I talked to the manager, Ben whittng , about the problem, he was amazing and gave me THE MOST incredible resolution. I was shocked at how generous, nice and understanding he was. I'll be honest..being a newbie to home remodeling I wasn't sure about going to a specialty location like F & D, but I'll be going there from now on. They treat customers like family. Hm. Why have I not been shopping here for home Reno stuff all along? I, like a fool, have been paying top price at Home Depot and Lowe's for a small selection of tile and flooring. But no more. Floor & Decor has every kind of tile and flooring my Pinterest- happy heart desires. At prices that are a fraction of what a comparable item would cost at HD or L--- if they even have it. Once you go in there, you will see what I mean. But in the meantime I'll leave you with this- I went to Lowe's to buy floor tile to match my entryway. It's basic tile. But the guy at Lowe's laughed at me and told me they don't carry it anymore. So I went to floor & decor, and found it in the clearance section for $1 per foot. $1. I bought out everything they had left, which can do our kitchen, plus several other adjoining rooms. Amazing. This will be my first and probably only stop for tile and flooring from now on. Oh and butcher block countertops. They have a small selection of countertops that are also shockingly affordable. read more

Don't expect to ever catch anyone on the phone here especially the pro desk. Every time I call to try and do an order over the phone (because every time I've placed orders online for contractors to pick up there's always an issue and no one can ever locate our items) nobody ever picks up or I get placed on hold for 10 minutes. Then I have to drive the 20 minutes to the store just so I'm able to place an order and make sure that everything goes smoothly for my contractors. Once I'm there everyone is super helpful but I feel like I have to baby sit the people here in order to get anything right. read more
