After a few classes my confidence grew . I decided part of my bucket list was to get my black belt . A year and half ago I relocated to New Jersey and ask my grandmaster kim for recommendation of the best schools in the area. He called black belt world for me and spoke with master kim . Two years later I'm testing for my bodan belt - black and red - which will be preparing for the next year and half on testing for my black belt . This school is incredible . I'm in awe of the skills , hard work , dedication and tender patience each instructor exudes. They meet their students where they are at - individually- understanding each students unique needs and skills . Enhancing on those skills , they teach kindness, patience , self awareness and it's a killer work out . I've lost 15lbs since starting - their constructive critical lessons take their students into advancing quickly - when I first started i had NO flexibility NON I'm still lil rusty however it's incredible feeling when you can see the difference and feel the progress yourself . I'm amazed at what I can do . I used to compare , however when I compare my self to the beginning I'm truly astonished . Never thought I'd be able to do some of the things I've done this far - can't imagine what I'll look like in three years - " I swear it by the old gods and the new " , I plan on training til I'm a hundred - if the gods will. Kyle puts his heart and soul into building confidence, positive attitude and respect into all aspects of his programs. I have never used JSK for martial arts instruction, but I have benefited greatly from their…read moreservices and character. Specifically, in the emergency that befell Flemington in Hurricane Ida. We were en route to a family wedding near Doylestown, PA, and arrived at the US202S-South Main Street intersection the evening of September 1, 2021 as Ida's flash flooding hit Flemington. The rescues reported in the media were extraordinary.  Once they had plucked an endangered soul from the raging intersection, and had "deposited" him or her on high ground (many on the Point Mall knoll at 245 US202S), they returned to the floodwaters to save others. But what became of the numerous soaked, cold people they deposited?  There was immediate need, but no care services (like Red Cross) were available because road access for hand-off care providers was non-existent. We can tell you what DID become of about 30-35 stranded souls from about 7:30 PM to midnight: the JSK Taekwondo studio unhesitatingly stepped up and opened its doors to all comers.  JSK's on-duty staffer was a model practitioner of The Golden Rule.  Not only did he provide a safe, warm place out of the storm for the terrified people on his doorstep, he offered what food and warm clothes he could.  And not incidentally, he also made bathrooms available, not only to the refugees under his roof, but also to those who had driven to high ground in the Mall and parked outside the studio for 4-6 hours.  All of this came at great personal cost ro the staffer, having to re-clean the studio from his dripping and dirty charges, before endeavoring to make the long trip home himself to Basking Ridge.  Given the road closures that night, I suspect that he may have ended up sleeping overnight at the studio. I'm sure that JSK's extraordinary kindness is reflected equally capably in its instruction, and I hope this review encourages many locals to seek out JSK's martial arts instruction.
