Had to go for a morning meeting in downtown. It got delayed, I went in search of hearty breakfast. Was a bit skeptical I can find anything good besides coffee and carbs. Found a gem!!! This little cafe is wonderful. Sparkling clean, nice mild music, wonderful smells. I went for a large breakfast ( can easily be a lunch). Followed fellow Yelpers recommendation and ordered Western Omelette Platter. I was not disappointed. I asked for "everything " and there it was: spinach, cold cuts, extra cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, red and green peppers, I am sure I missed something. The omelette was large, tasty and , of course, made to order. It came with a large serving of tasty potatoes and two slices of grilled bread ( I chose the sourdough). Excellent service: efficient and with a smile. Their grilled sandwiches and salad bowls also look very good. Definitely recommend as a breakfast or lunch place

As a Korean, I find the bibimbap bowl here to be the best in DC (where it's hard to find an authentic one), and I'm so grateful for it. The owners are so warm and kind that I feel at home here for that reason too. Long live Ahra Cafe!

My favorite go to is the chipotle bowl ,but today i opted for the bibimbap. Smells and taste delicious

Great food, quick service. Sometime the staff actually making the food are not the friendliest, but otherwise great.

Coffee is my souls peace ! , it's so good, and I really loved the place and the coffee they're making. I tend to like sugar (too much) but try to drink black sometimes to try to appreciate the actual coffee flavor and for health reasons. Nice way to hydrate in a fancy way. Art work doesn't typically grab me but this art work did. If I had money, time, and comfortable accessibility to purchase, I would. I am sure I could order online and have shipped but I like to avoid shipping costs if I can. The realism and detail grab me in a way I like. The DC tunnel views that continue to beautify DC's respectable metro system show you that Jimmy is truly a local DC artist. It is reminiscent for me of Juniper Lane's music album cover Tightrope. I didn't notice this until after the fact but apparently when you buy art directly from here you get 15% of your purchase for more coffee here too. Wow. Why the missing star? This is kinda picky but if I wasn't looking or a foreigner, I could've accidentally added hand sanitizer to my coffee and well that's a big no no. Granted the bottle is labeled but I am not a fan of this being in the same area as the coffee add-ons. I know spacing is tight and maybe someone moved this bottle in this area but I don't get that sense and just think it's not a good setup. If this place wanted to expand , I think finding good NYC locations would be optimal as well. I am unsure if Philly would be good or not as an additional location as a coffee culture crowd. Of course I would still come back. It was worth the 15 min walk from the convention center in this hot August weather.

As someone who works in the industry and is very familiar with coffee and coffee shops, I was genuinely shocked by how rude and unprofessional the staff was. I ordered a house latte with an extra double shot, which made it a quad shot, and I also paid for extra ice and requested that it be served in a large cup. It wasn't a complicated order. When I saw a drink come up, I politely asked, "Is that mine by any chance?" The barista immediately told me to "hush" and said, "I'm not talking to you." I found that incredibly disrespectful and completely unacceptable. When my drink was finally handed to me, I simply asked if the quad shot had been added since I had paid extra for it. Instead of answering my question, the barista ignored me entirely, and another employee had to respond. The employee, Taleisha Young, who was wearing glasses, was especially rude throughout the interaction. No customer should be spoken to that way, especially when they're simply asking about an order they paid extra to customize. Customer service and professionalism should be a priority, and this experience fell far below that standard. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience on other review platforms as well. I hope management addresses the behavior of its staff so other customers don't have a similar experience.
