This is a place that we wanted to like a lot better than we did. We tried it last weekend on a rainy morning, and we went into the "Baked" storefront first, where we ordered quite a few items, assuming that that was the entire selection. The folks on this side were very sweet and helpful. When we went over to "Wired" to get our coffees, there were a bunch of *other* treats over there, which nobody told us about, so that was annoying because then we would have ordered way fewer items. So we got a couple more goodies here as well as our iced coffees and a hot cocoa for our kiddo. The folks on this side were unfriendly and uninterested in customer service ("Just checking in on our quiche...?";"Oh, we totally forgot. We'll put it in now."). We weren't impressed with most of our items though some were better than others. Unsurprisingly, the cupcakes were the best; we got the nutella and "unicorn" ones, and both were moist with excellent frostings. We especially appreciated the filling in the nutella. The chocolate chip cookie was terrible--our daughter, a cookie fiend, refused to have another bite of it. We liked the novelty of the "orange dream" shortcake. As for the other stuff, the spicy sausage biscuit was not spicy at all and had the consistency of rubber. The quiche that finally came out was too oily, but we all liked the decadent cinnamon roll. Bit of a mixed bag all around, so we're settling on three stars. We ourselves won't be back, but others might have a better experience on a different day. read more

Awesome spot for "cake cups" and other sweet treats! We went here on a weekend afternoon, about 30 minutes before close (4 pm). While the line was quite long when arriving, wait time was surprisingly short and employees were efficient in managing orders. We purchased the dirty chai cupcake, the OMG (with graham cracker, caramel, marshmallow, chocolate layers), and the rock your world brownie (with almonds, marshmallows, fudge) to go, and all desserts held up pretty well on the trip back home! The dirty chai was very tasty, with just the right amount of cinnamon and sweetness. Portion sizes for their cupcakes are huge and perfect for splitting with a friend. The other two bar-like desserts were also delicious, although on a much sweeter level. I would imagine it would pair really well with a coffee or tea! read more

Was looking for a little matcha pick me up and came across baked and wired on Yelp. Overall I had a great experience nothing extraordinary but nothing that fell flat either. Ordered an iced matcha and allowed my eyes to glaze over all of the baked goods I regret not getting. Everything still remains true, the best! I've visited sister stores as well and they deliver the same service and amazing products. I love seeing a line out the door for Baked and Wired. This is a cute little cupcake store in Georgetown that also serves other cafe items like coffee and breakfast/lunch items. It's a very popular spot to grab dessert in Georgetown and usually has a long line which moves pretty quick. I've tried a few cupcakes over the years and recently tried "the dude" which was a chocolate cake with some ganache filling, buttercream frosting, and malt chocolate on top. I haven't been to Baked & Wired in a few years just because I haven't been in area. I also knew if I found a convenient way to stop by, I would be there all the time. So, I was in the area yesterday and took a 10 minute walk from Trader Joe's in 25 degrees just to get some cupcakes. I get there about 15-30 minutes after they opened so there were no lines and it wasn't crowded at all. If I had time I would have gotten a warm drink in addition to my cupcakes and chill there for a second. It's inviting, especially with all the Christmas Decoration and warm staff. I got 4 cupcakes; Pistachio, Strawberry, Vanilla and German Chocolate. Generally their cupcakes aren't too sweet, they're big with great flavor. They're $6.20 each. I normally really like pistachio flavored things, the pistachio cupcake wasn't my favorite. I think there is nut meg or a similar spice which isn't my favorite. That's not to say I wouldn't eat it again if someone bought it for me though lol. I just wouldn't buy it again. The other cupcakes were on point, no complaints. I think so far Red Velvet and Strawberry are my favorite. Now that I will be in the area more, I will definitely make my way through the menu and give you updates! read more

Cupcakes are A1. Workers are helpful and friendly. My biggest critique is the mental gymnastics it takes for me to order. I always panic a little because there's usually a line and there isn't a posted menu for the cupcakes, at least not one that I've been able to see during cupcake rush hour. They have all of the cupcakes out on display in these cute cake savers. I'm the type of person who likes to look at all of my options before I order but that's not always feasible with how the line wraps around so quickly. I feel this sense of urgency to place my order quickly and get out of the way. Next time I'll do research on the toast app so I'm prepared to order. There was one vegan option, but my vegan didn't enjoy it and said it was dry. I think it was mint flavored. The cupcakes are on the larger side to me and everyone I've ever had has been insanely sweet. I can only eat half of one at a time. During my last visit I got the Doom and uniporn and rainho. I honestly just like saying uniporn and rainho out loud so I order that one often. My favorite is the razmanian devil. The cupcakes are around $6 each. I always get the German Chocolate Cupcake. It's not the traditional German chocolate that you'd expect. The chocolate cake itself is a rich moist decadent, dark chocolate. Not the traditional light and airy cake that is German chocolate. But, it's still delicious! The frosting is pure perfection! It has notes of coconut, caramel, and sweet vanilla. It's so unbelievably moist, decadent, and delicious that you wish that you had 2X as much. But, it'd be too rich at that point. They truly have the well balanced cupcake down. They have plenty of seating. So, if you're not in a rush. Sit down and enjoy the ambience. Also, they have a really nice coffee bar with incredibly delicious coffee, tea, and tasty treats. This was my favorite cupcake spot for years! I haven't been here in maybe over 7 years, so I was way overdue for a visit. A friend and I were in the area, so we stopped by. There was a long line waiting to get inside, which isn't any different from back in the day, so we waited for 15-20 minutes. There was a nice selection of cupcakes and other baked goods, and they even had fall specials! I got the great pumpkin, Karen's birthday, razmanian devil, and the carrot cake. They were all okay. I remember their cupcakes tasting so much better, but I just didn't love them this time. Maybe I should've gotten other flavors. Nonetheless, customer service was really great. The cashier was helpful, answered my questions, and provided suggestions. Far and away the best cupcakes I've ever had!! I was lucky enough to go when there wasn't a line, and I snagged seven of these to try. I don't remember the exact names of the cupcakes I got, but they were basically a strawberry, a vanilla, a vanilla with chocolate frosting, a chocolate with vanilla frosting, a double chocolate, a red velvet, and a pistachio. They were fantastic!! My personal favorites were the strawberry, the vanilla with chocolate frosting, and the vanilla which really surprises me since I've never actually enjoyed a vanilla cupcake before. Omg! They have some of the best cupcakes I have ever had. I dropped by here while out and about in Georgetown, and ended up purchasing the coconut and carrot cake cupcakes. Both cupcakes were very tasty with a slightly dense consistency that make the cupcakes very filling. The coconut flavor was my favorite, but the carrot was good as well. The icing on both cupcakes had just the right amount of sweetness for my taste, and at Baked & Wired apparently they aren't shy about topping off their cupcakes with plenty of icing (yum!). The pricing for the menu items were very reasonable (especially for the area), and the staff were super friendly and helpful (despite the large number of customers that were visiting at the time). While back east, our family visited Georgetown and retraced my steps when I lived there oh ten years ago. Of course, we had to make a stop at Baked & Wired! I hadn't had it in years, but was craving their expertly crafted, flavorful, high-price-tag cupcakes (hey, when in DC). When our group got there, after a collective groan at the long line, I wasn't taking no for an answer so we went to the back of the line and within about 10 minutes, made it inside the bakery. We were then greeted with a beautiful shining line of cupcakes on display. The ordering system is a little chaotic, and I'm guessing very intentional - we have to select our flavors as we move down the line, so that if something at the end of the line looks good, we have to wait until the end to order. We got 5 cupcakes - two of the seasonal Cherry Blossoms (YUM), a German Chocolate, a carrot cake and a pistachio. I think the price tag came out to about $35 for the five cupcakes? Definitely a splurge when visiting, but worth it. We ate our cupcakes after we did some site seeing around the city and they were all moist, flavorful and delicious!! read more

I decided to stop by after picking up some thing from my organization. I was in the mood for a cold drink & was recommended to go to Baked & Wired. I will admit that I was a little confused when I entered the building. I wasn't sure if it was a separate entity or the same one. It was kinda split in half. Nevertheless, I went to the side that looked like they served coffee & cold drinks. It was quite tiny. I got the iced matcha & wanted it to be sweet. The baristas were rather quiet but timely with their service. I felt that my matcha was not sweet enough so I added more sweetner/ simple syrup to it. It did the trick. The other side seemed to have some yummy looking pastries & they also seem to serve drinks. If I am ever in the neighborhood again, I may swing by and try a different drink with a pastry. read more

The flavor was great but the denseness and texture of the cupcake were not it - I didn't even finish my Razmanian Devil (lemon raspberry). Side note - I had the same texture issues with the cupcakes at Georgetown Cupcake - like they're the same cupcake, just different sizes and prices. Baked & Wired is the larger and pricier of the two at $7 per cupcake compared to $5 but they taste the same. Baked & Wired has a much smaller selection of flavors, and priced higher (about 1.5x) for a larger sized cupcake. If you're not super hungry, splitting one among 2 people will do. The frosting was also too sweet - I got the strawberry cupcake which was good, but not the best I've had. Overall, nothing really stood out about these cupcakes - it wasn't overwhelmingly amazing compared to Sprinkles or Georgetown Cupcake, or other shops on the street. Had a hard time deciding between all the desserts here! Lots of cupcakes, brownie, blondie, etc. options and unique flavors. This shop could easily turn into a cupcake factory but they keep it casual with handmade labels, intimate couch seating, and usually just one or two employees at the counter. Even though the line was long and moved slowly, I appreciate the culture they've established here. My only complaint is that to see the options you have to wait until you're inside the door and then the line moves faster from there so there's less time to decide what you want. Baked & Wired was my favorite spot as a Vegan. I'm not strictly vegan now but I'm still head over heels for their Vegan cookies and cream cupcake. I have fond memories standing in line with my brother and sister-in-law in Georgetown, chatting and listening to stories. The cupcake was the icing on the cake of being with family. Small shops have a way of doing that sometimes. I'm glad places like this exist and give character to D.C. It's really that special and us DMV locals know it. Such a cute local bakery in Georgetown! Came here since my friend visited this place five years ago and still remembers how delicious the cupcakes are. The cupcakes were indeed very good and moist. We got the red velvet, pistachio, and strawberry. My favorite was probably the pistachio since it had a cardamom frosting I enjoyed. They are on the larger side, and the frosting was a little too sweet for me, but still very delicious! I heard the hippie crack granola here is well known so I got two bags of it, although I wasn't expecting it to be $20 each, so hopefully it's good! Update: Granola was pretty standard and I didn't like the dried apricots so i would probably get the one without fruits. But I would say just stick with their cupcakes! read more
