At first she was surprised by my number because I have a CA area code but as soon as I explained my situation, she warmed up. Before calling her I had booked some time for me to come into her office and meet her (which I gave her the heads up about during my call). I explained that I had been audited by the IRS on my 2018 tax return and she was fantastic at walking me though what I needed to do, first and foremost, requesting an extension (which the IRS immediately honored). Fast forward to today, I just left her office with my husband and I am SO excited to work with her on all my tax/business needs for the future. If you ever have the pleasure of sitting down and have a conversation with her, you will immediately get the sense of how intelligent, wise and on top of things she is - definitely want someone like this advocating for you and your business. She didn't charge us for our meeting today because she said that we were getting to know each other but honestly, I would have paid just to have heard her impart the wisdom that she did. We left with a game plan and are planning on connecting again in a couple weeks once I gather all the documents I need to send over to the auditor. To wrap up, I can see how the last reviewer thought she may have come across as rude BUT she really isn't...AT ALL...I would say she's very no nonsense and to the point and if you let her know up front that you're looking for a CPA and someone to work with in the long run, the conversation will go very well and you'll get way more than you expected. Also she's most definitely the type of person that you should take the time to get to know IN PERSON vs over the phone or via video call...at least for the very first meeting. I paid a crazy amount in taxes, with no returns, while my freelancer friends were able to maximize their write-offs with their own CPAs. They didn't bother trying to help me write off any business related expenses for me and felt like I was bothering them by even asking. Do not come here unless you have one job (ie. one w2 form) - and honestly, even if you did, look into a free tax service like turbo tax! Not worth paying over $100 to do the least amount of work.
