Surprisingly delicious ramen spot in unexpected location - found this hidden gem as I was making my way back up to Portland from the Oregon coast. Very flavorful broth with generous portions of chashu and nice noodles. Sleek, hip vibes playing lively music, great location, and friendly, attentive staff too! I started with their Butter Edamame app which is edamame in a butter sauce and not something I've come across before. It was FANTASTIC!! The edamame comes with some kind of browned butter sauce and the flavor is just delicious! I then went for their signature AI Ramen which comes with a pork broth and chashu and I got the shrimp add-on. Their topping portions are VERY generous, the broth is savory and flavorful and the noodles and chashu were perfectly cooked. You seat yourself but they offer table service even though this appears like a fast-casual type of spot. Service is so friendly and attentive. Everything is spotless and the aesthetic is very modern and sleek. They're located in a large shopping area with tons of parking and other shops to explore. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here!

Had the opportunity to be in Corvallis with my son and he is a fan of ramen so we decided to have lunch here. We both had the AI ramen and split a karaage. The karaage was well seasoned and even though the outside was crispy, the meat inside was juicy. The AI ramen had a bit of a burnt taste at the beginning, but as you ate more it went away and the broth was flavorful and the pork was tender. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall, a great experience and will definitely go again if the opportunity arises!

Broth is salty, but delicious. Finally, a ramen place with actual soft boiled eggs and juicy pork belly. I did not care for the bamboo shoots in the dish, but overall better than average for ramen in Oregon. The service is pretty hands off. You order and then they walk away and boom in a few minutes you have ramen and then the check. I love that the place is clean and looks professional. However, it's very quiet so I wouldn't want to necessarily gather here to have a lunch date. Could get awkward.

Thank you yelper for your reviews as we are hard core ramen fans. This is located in a strip mall and is a slower paced, spacious type of fast food restaurant - though they do serve you, bring the menu, take your order, etc. You can pick any table to sit at - there's two large tables in the center and a handful of 2 or 4 person tables on the far left hand side when you walk in. Started with the potato croquette and takoyaki which came out piping hot! Wait before diving in. both were good, though slightly sparse in filling (1 small piece of tako / octopus in the takoyaki and a few carrots/corn in the croquette). The ramen are BIG and filling and delicious. The ai ramen was the best of the batch as the pork broth is rich and flavorful, the shoyu ramen is lighter and as it's base is a chicken broth, reminded me of a wonderful chicken soup with yummy Japanese flavors and bites and the spicy miso ramen is equally good with the Ai Ramen, though it was a little too spicy for me (i'm a spice wimp so please take with a grain of salt. I like mild spice and this ramen was more a medium spice). The servers were friendly and helpful. If the appetizers were as good as the ramen (and the ramen was delicious) this would earn 5 stars. I'd definitely go back and stick with the ai ramen!

Ordered the shoyu ramen. My ramen came with I think 4 chashu slices? Awesome! Every topping was great. The marinated egg was delicious. Noodles were stuck together, but I ordered takeout during quarantine times so what can you expect? Broth was flavorful and great, well balanced. Will come back for my ramen fix! It's not Afuri good (very little in the world is), but I'm very pleasantly surprised by this establishment. It's about time Corvallis got a good ramen place. Great work! A delicious ramen with smoky taste. The chasu is a bit thin, but they are smoky and add lots of flavors to the ramen. (4 stars because the broth is quite salty) Takoyaki and deep fried skewers are great complement. read more

Excellent flavor. Awesome service. Just like I remember as a kid in Japan slurping Udon in steam windowed soup shops. Only this is definitely not a small place. Huge tables for everyone to spread out. And, best of all, a really, really good gluten free noodle option. A+ comfort food. read more

My new fav ramen spot in town! We got 2 different ramens and also some of their skewer appetizers. The food was delicious, and the service was great. The employees checked in on us and made sure we had enough water, spices, sriracha, etc. While the price is a bit higher when compared to other dining options in Corvallis, the quality of the food is also higher and worth the price. The portions were well sized, and I brought home leftovers for lunch the next day. Will definitely be returning. read more

Place was well maintained and looked nice, but, the server was weird, all the drinks come bottled even the milk tea (which was $5 for a 12oz), and the food was too salty. The servers doubled as the cooks, used no gloves, and one didn't care to wash his hands!! read more

The restaurant itself is nice and modern! The spicy miso ramen's broth is super flavorful and rich. I liked it better than the ai ramen. Noodles are cooked well and the toppings are generous. The food here was just... ok. I expected better. I got the shoyu ramen, spicy miso, and butter edamame. The shoyu ramen was underwhelming. The noodles were meh, pork chasu was not the best chasu I've had, woodear mushrooms added a cool texture to the ramen but were unnecessary and tasted like a car tire, however the egg was wonderful. The broth was just a little too salty as well. The spicy miso was alright. It basically had the same toppings as the shoyu, however, the broth was weirdly gritty, and flavor-wise it wasn't anything special, just average. The butter edamame was not good at all. It was nauseatingly salty and tasted like it was sitting out for a while. Not good. AI Ramen was okay and left me somewhat satisfied. However, I wouldn't eat there again. The price versus quality of food you get is just not worth it. read more

I'd give Ai Ramen more of a 3.5/5 if I could. It's decent and a nice spot to have in Corvallis but pretty pricey. I ordered the Ai Ramen and a side of takoyaki. The broth was not as rich or as hot as I've had at other ramen spots. The wood ear mushrooms in the dish were cold and flavorless, sort of just thrown on top and didn't go well with it. The broth was not as salty as other ramen places, so that was nice, but it was more on the oily side. I enjoyed the takoyaki as well--just the right amount of sauce, seaweed, and bonito flakes to balance out the fried goodness. I'd come here if I was craving tonkotsu broth, but for everything else, I'd probably stick to Ojisan's ramen truck. read more

They do a great Job and are friendly the food is good and the atmosphere is good! The only small problem I had was, and maybe I sound like an old man screaming at a cloud, but I'm not a huge fan of my servicer having in an ear pod. Doesn't look much when you walk by it, but I'm not from Oregon, but I am from a place that Asian food is an everyday thing and easy to get. But I walk out of the gym and saw this across the way, checked it out a few times but never went in, because I rally see people in there Well it's the end of the year so I said let me try it!!! Well I'm glad I did, it was amazing. The taste and presentation reminded me of home and when I was in Japan. The price is low and the food is high in taste. Had an amazing bowl of Ai Ramen with chasu, egg, bamboo shoots, egg noodles, and corn. The egg noodles were perfectly made and cooked. bamboo shoots and corn elevated the taste of the ramen. I was surprised when I asked for some chili powder and they offered a variety of chili powders including Japanese and Korean chili powders. I took the Korean route and it added a good amount of spice but I would recommend Japanese chili powder. I would highly recommend this place for a good bowl of ramen. read more

They do a lot of things right here. The broth, noodles, and toppings are all tasty and the chashu, though weirdly thin, is decent and plentiful. Unfortunately, like nearly all ramen shops in Oregon, the broth is lukewarm. Ramen should be served at a near-boiling temperature, and this tepid soup does not bring joy. read more

Husband had the Katsu pork with rice and it was hot and crisp but he didn't like the sauce much and the $4 Pepsi had a very weird taste.....water was fine! I had the Shoyu Ramen which was very disappointing came immediately after ordering and the noodles were really underdone for my taste and the broth not as hot as I suspected it would be. I really like my Asian Market soup that I make at home. I agree with Sydney T the wood ear mushrooms were not pleasing and my egg was still cold. Probably won't go back for Ramen. read more

This is really expensive Ramen. It's meticulously prepared though. I spoke with the owner and she said that they spend two or three days cooking each batch of broth. Warning though, if you're not used to the taste of really strong soup stock, this will likely be overpowering to the pallet. read more

Easily the best ramen place in Corvallis/Albany area. Broth is flavorful and pork is well cooked and charred. Service is spot on and attentive. I will say that prices are about $3 too high on ramen and the portion of noodles and pork can be increased but overall a very good ramen spot. read more

Got take out ramen from here during COVID. Came out fast and staff was very nice. Got the signature at ramen. It was really good! Would definitely order from here again. I liked how they packaged the to go ramen as well with the broth separate but the toppings already on the noodles. Definitely recommend! Solid ramen. I think I will make it a semi-regular lunch stop. I had take-out, the ai ramen and chicken karage were delicious. Nice looking, spacious restaurant on the inside when I went for pick-up. For 5 stars, I would want better value (ie bigger portions and/or lower price points). read more

We went to this place on a whim and it is AMAZING! The staff are so friendly and down to earth. The ramen is delicious and comes out so fast. You won't be able to finish your bowl, you get your money's worth! It is clean inside with a-lot of space to spread out your party. Great job you guys! read more

I went to AI Ramen for the first time today and ordered the spicy ramen. The ramen was extremely delicious, I loved both the broth as well as the pork belly and soft boiled eggs. Being a 6'4 210lb man I found the portion to be very filling and am confused how one of their only complaints is portion sizes. My only reasoning for not giving 5 stars is that there was very few options for added toppings. I would recommend having some additional toppings added to the list to cater to more crowds (wontons, different meats, more side dishes). Other than that I had a great experience and will definitely be returning. read more

I went here for lunch a bit ago and was shocked at the whole experience. We are sat at the single clean table in the restaurant. On each side of us was a dirty table with flies buzzing around. It was absolutely disgusting. Within the hour an a half we were there, no tables were cleaned. We ate our ramen with flies all around us and tables covered in filth. While the ramen was amazing, the friendly flies ruined the experience. read more

I would say their ramen is OK at best. For $14, I really expected my ramen to be amazing and decently portioned. To my surprise the portion was small and the flavor wasn't all there. I would say this is similar to Ronin Cafe.... the broth just need a little more work. The meat was a little burned and the naruto was coldIf you cross the bridge to Albany, Simply Ramen is honestly a better and cheaper option. read more

Finally some decent ramen in Corvallis. Reasonably fast, their tonkotsu tasted pretty good. The udon soup was disappointing but that's what you get when you try to shoehorn a vegetarian soup into what should be fish based -- kudos to them for trying at least. They do take-out packaging right with the noodles separate so as to not ruin them. Great for this pandemic time when you need real ramen. For the price per bowl (~$15) I expect much better toppings though. Pork belly in their flagship ramen are three extremely flimsy pieces. I get trying to cut costs, but if you're going to be in a higher price range anyway you may as well tack on another dollar and have some thick pork bellies people will remember you for. read more

I came here with another person and they only brought one entree out first. The other entree and appetizers didn't come until 20 minutes after the other person entree was finished. Don't come here if you're on a date, one persons ramen will go cold while waiting or they're eating without you. They really need to work on the timing of their entrees and appetizers. read more
