Sweet Home doesn't have a lot of vegan options but Osaka is awesome! They have a vegan sushi burrito with inari (a spongy fried and marinated tofu pocket), and a nice selection of veggie rolls. First off as you are walking in, look around the parking lot and by the doors. Covered in cigarette butts garbage and filth. The egg rolls were doughy in the middle and You could tell they were from a frozen package and deep fried. The sesame chicken too, doughy and the sauce was overly sweet and not appetizing at all. The woman that waited on us gave me a dirty look when I asked for forks. And the chicken tempura that was inside the roll was very dried out tough and chewy. Family got there at 6:15, our drink and food order was not taken until 6:50. Our food did not arrive until 7:30. Staff was too concerned with fulfilling online and phone orders to put any effort into the people who bothered to show up. I was charged for things that we did not receive including a sushi roll and did not get any soup with the bento box. Our orders arrived in pieces with the first order for my daughter arriving about 20 minutes before ours. Service was atrocious. We figured it was time to try the new Sushi spot here in little ole Sweet Home. What we got was a very pleasant experience. Although when we arrived the place was packed there was certainly a fair wait time, but the wife and I went right to the bar and sat down, skipping the line. We ordered a Ninja roll which has tempura shrimp, topped with spicy tuna, masago, eel sauce and spicy mayo. A very good choice for a first time restaurant. Our second roll was the Shotgun roll which has spicy tuna, topped with seared pepper tuna, spicy mayo and eel sauce. Our last roll was the Lion King roll, which has cucumber, crab meat, topped with seared salmon, eel sauce and sesame seeds. What we came to find out was there was only one sushi chef preparing food, so the wait time was quite long. Actually almost 45 mins for our rolls. Because of that, the waitress was kind enough to give us pot stickers on the house. These were deep fried and were well cooked not over done. Finally we finished the meal with an order of sake (salmon nigiri) and escolar (super white tuna nigiri). Both of these were very delicious and plentiful on the plate. The restaurant itself has a about 12 tables or so, not huge, but not tiny either. I am sure that this place will get to a point of not being the new thing everyone is wanting to go to and will settle down and be a bit more easy to enter and get a table. The menu is quite large. There are many offerings besides sushi. Several tables that I saw had ordered the Ramen/Udon bowls. These look fantastic and I am a big fan of this, so it will definitely be on the order list here sometime in the near future. As I stated earlier, this is the first week of the restaurant being open. I am sure there are going to be things that need to be worked out. One thing that was a bit of an annoyance was the Chef putting the completed plates on top of the cooler which is right in front of the bar. This is an issue only if your sitting at the bar and you are constantly being asked to let the servers get the food. There is a large wooden counter just the left of the coolers which would be a better spot to have the completed dishes picked up by the servers. The other issue was simply the wait. These two issues are what took a five star great experience and made it a four star. For me, fixing these two issues would make for a much more pleasurable experience. Maybe getting a second sushi chef or a prep chef to prepare some of the rolls, or nigiri to help out the sushi chef and to cut down on the amount of wait time. read more

Skeptical at first considering this is Sweet Home but was pleasantly surprised. Lots of food selection from Sushi, Chinese, to Thai. Standard sushi and roll selections. Good, friendly service. Exceptional service and food. We had 12 adults and 2 babies enjoying the food on a Sunday afternoon. The sushi is fresh and bountiful! The bento boxes are overflowing with savory meats, tempura, and the typical bento sides. The chicken fried rice was savory and delicious as were the noodles. The hand roll with unagi was just the right size and packed with flavor! The only downer was the fried calamari - very large rings and texture was off. The food was hot but had very little flavor. The chicken seemed to be different somehow. My wife got the seafood ramen bowl. She was very happy with hers. But as I said my chicken bowl was just not right to me. I started to get stomach cramps later that night. To put it bluntly I experienced a night from hell. I wanted to through up while I had the runs. I actually found out I had the runs when I was in bed and I fluffed and I messed up my bed. I was up all night with the runs and wanting to through up. my partner and i visited sweethome. and on one of our days, my family and I went here for dinner on a wednesday night and its probably one of the worsts dining experience ive ever had. we had to help the waitress set up tables. and once we were sat, we had to wait 15 mins for the menus to come with no water. and when the server was taking our order, she was extremely rude and had an attitude. maybe its because were people of color. but we didnt appreciate it at all. our order took 30 mins to come and they got our order wrong. and we had no silverware or chopsticks. we had to chase a server down for some. we were really disappointed of how unprepared, rude and unprofessional they were. we will not be dining here again. read more
