Amazing, patient, knowledgeable, understanding, and incredibly sweet. Aileen was recommended to me when another breast consultant no longer did house calls. I am so glad that I was introduced to her. For any one inquiring, "Aetna" provided me 6 free covered services that I am spacing out as my newborn grows. I had issues with nipple pain and breast pain and Aileen was able to pick up all these cues and signs of my child having minor tongue tie and gave me a full list of recommendations for me on her first visit. Almost as if writing a prescription or what to do, it was extremely helpful. My favorite part was when she weighed my child after each feeding to see where she was at and how much each side was producing as my child suckled for milk. I had 3 house visits so far and each time she came, my child had improved on how much she was getting. I contacted Aileen as I was being discharged from Hoag Hospital for additional breastfeeding support as I was not seen in the hospital by a LC. After failing miserably at breastfeeding my first child I was determined to be more successful the second time around. Aileen came over to my home when my son was 3 days old and taught me all the tips and tricks. She is warm and approachable and a local mom just like we are. She weighed my son before and after feeds which helped assure me that he was getting enough milk and cheered me on during the early painful days. Aileen is an absolute God send! I started working with her when my baby was about two weeks old because I was having issues building my milk supply. She patiently worked with us and by about week 6 my supply had boosted so much with her help. My baby had started rejecting all bottles and I was getting so stressed and desperate to find a solution. I found Aileen through insurance and from the moment I reached out, she was so kind and responsive to my situation. She was able to schedule an in-home visit with me within the week, which was amazing! During the visit, she was able to put me at ease with the bottle feeding and showed me a few techniques. My baby ended up drinking a few ounces, after she calmed h him down from his fussing and crying. She also walked me through a plan to gradually introduce the bottle back into the routine. It was such a relief to have Aileen come in and provide her expertise. We also talked through small adjustments for better nursing, and did a weigh in just to make sure he was getting enough during the feed. Baby is now drinking at least once a day from the bottle without a full on meltdown, which is great provided he was outright rejecting it while dissolving into a puddle of tears before. What a lifesaver! Aileen is truly heaven sent. As a first time mom, I didn't know what to expect but I was determined to nurse my newborn. She did all visits in my home which made it so easy and convenient. She taught me and my newborn the skills needed to nurse successfully and how to take a bottle. This is such a private and personal journey and she made me felt so comfortable. If you're pregnant or nursing I would highly recommend setting up an appointment. My little one is almost 6m now and I've been able to nurse this entire time successfully and she takes a bottle when needed. Yay! ....and she always brings a scale so you can see how much your baby weighs and how much milk they are getting in a feeding session. After a very long labor that ended in a C-Section, I wasn't producing much at the hospital and got stuck having to "top off" baby with formula after each feeding to prevent her from losing too much weight. My goal was to drop the formula and exclusively breastfeed. It took 7 days for my milk to finally come in, but I was worried that I wasn't producing enough and baby would lose the weight she gained. I want to shout from the rooftops how amazing Aileen is and how she saved me from having to exclusively pump for my daughter. In the hospital, my daughter was loosing too much weight because my milk hadn't come in yet (we even had to stay an extra night in the hospital because of her weight loss) so I decided to give her formula. When we went to her pediatrician when we were released, I told the pediatrician she was having trouble breastfeeding and my pediatrician assumed it was because of me giving her bottles. Both the hospital and my pediatrician didn't diagnose the underlying issue that my daughter had a tongue tie (the reason why my milk hadn't come in in the hospital and the reason my daughter wasn't latching). I'm so so glad that I reached out to Aileen to come take a look and help me figure out why my daughter wasn't latching, even though by now I was totally engorged and had plenty of milk. I also asked her to give me pointers on pumping, since I wasn't getting very much from my sessions and felt clogged and engorged still after pumping. Aileen took the time to observe and listen to our journey so far and properly diagnosed the tongue tie. Even when I went back to the pediatrician for a referral, they still told me she didn't have an issue, but I trusted Aileen since she was the only one that took the time to observe and listen. Aileen was amazing to work with. I just had baby #3 (9yr gap) and although I was successful with BF my other 2 babies, this one was different. I looked Aileen up after our 5 day drs visit - I was getting very different advice/directions from our Pediatrician vs what I remembered to be the foundation for a strong milk supply. Dont get me wrong, I love our pediatrician but she doesn't specialize in boobs lol. Aileen listened to my story and gave me some pointers to do until we had our first appt. She came to my house, did her thing (baby wasn't gaining weight), gave me some tips and tricks as well as a solid regimen to follow until our next appt. 2 days later she came back and BOOM baby #3 gained 4oz in 2 days. We had her 2 week drs appt the following day and she gained another 2oz! We're just 2oz away from her birth weight now and the dr wasn't at all concerned with her progress. I'm super grateful to have found Aileen. Even with baby #3 things can be very different and I'm glad I was able to work with her at such a pivotal stage of BF (establishing my supply).
