It took me a hot minute before I decided I should go see a lactation specialist. One of the reason why I was a bit hesitant was because my experience at the hospital wasn't the best. After my baby had their tongue and lip release i noticed I still felt pain, tenderness, and sensitivity. That's when his dr who release this tongue and lip noticed he had a shallow Latch when I would breastfeed. She recommended Ashley to Me and I'm so glad she did. I was a bit scared and nervous at first because I knew I would have to breastfeed in front of her. And my silly brain was scared she would judge me or say I'm doing it wrong. She has not only made me feel SO comfortable and confident at breastfeeding but she has helped my newborn with latching, positioning, and even fussiness that I was stressing about. I wish I had known about Ashley when I had my first daughter. Our breastfeeding journey was very stressful for months and she never ended up latching leaving me to exclusively pump for her. With my second pregnancy, I knew I wanted to try breastfeeding again, but searched for different support to ensure I didn't have such a hard time with this baby. Starting with a prenatal appointment during my pregnancy, we visited Ashley and she was so warm and calming as I shared my previous breastfeeding history with her through tears.
