So originally yes they got me a less expensive rate then others. However as the years progressed my rates were rising and rising. I never have had a ticket, I am a good driver, no accidents and why wasn't I getting a discount for those things? Well I had to change my policy for those reasons. Cathy I believe was her name was always nice and kind to me and easy to reach. I remember once I told her I was changing policies she wasn't happy and that was the first time I felt her get snarky and short but I understood why. It probably wasn't her fault but she didn't try to fix it either or explain anything to me which might have shifted my thinking to stay and work with them. Just completely avoid this place at all costs. Reasons why I say so below: Reason 1: I called to change my policy to full coverage and the agent I spoke with was hasty to change it over, but decided to not let me know that if I changed my premium midway through I would be responsible for paying the rest of my premium that I want to change from. Long story short I noticed my bill shot up more than what I was told over the phone and I called them to see why and that's when I was told the above. That would have been an important detail to have mentioned when I wanted to switch over my coverage and to make things worse they had me hand write a letter to cancel the full coverage and restore my insurance back to its original monthly cost. Reason 2: They like to sneak in extra things you don't need on your insurance to charge you more per month. I noticed that my rates changed from a year ago by $10 more a month! After some research I found that they had added Uninsured motorists property damage liability when I had never even accepted that type of coverage onto my premium! California doesn't even require you to have that coverage! Just be careful because this broker is money hungry and will lie, or withhold information to get every penny out of you. Reason 3: I called to let them know I want to cancel my auto renewal for the upcoming month of September. The lady on the phone just stayed quite for about 30 seconds like I had offended her and proceeded to let out a sigh like she was annoyed. She rudely asked for my address and didn't even verify my name! Piss poor service if you ask me. I will be calling back to make sure she did her part to remove the auto renewal. I want to give names, but I am not in the business of getting people in trouble, or having them lose their job. Whatever you do, avoid this broker at all costs. Mercury insurance itself is not a bad company and offers excellent services and coverages, but the broker in question here should really be dropped by them. I will be filing a complaint with mercury insurance to let them know how AIM operates and that because of their actions I have chosen a different insurance company. Cathy Hill should be embarrassed how she has her employees operating and representing her brokerage. read more
