I told the lady at the register and she looked at me like I did it. She then proceeded to open the box and sure enough, the strings were damaged. I told her I purchased the tent a week ago and I was able to find some time to set it up when I noticed it was damaged. She then rudely told me that their equipment should be new and it's not possible for it to be damaged. I argued with her and told her that I thought it was brand new but i guess it wasn't. It was in it's original packaging.. Finally, she accepted it as an exchange and told me to grab another one. She said if it happens again, I'm going to have to take it up with the manufacturer... Really?? It's not my fault it was broken.. I then grabbed a "new" one and she asked if I'd like to check it before checking out. I said okay, I checked over the sticks and it looks fine. I told her what about the tent, what if there is a hole. She told me I can open it up in the store but there was no room to do that.. so I told her that I'll just set it up today at home and if it's not good I'll bring it back. She then proceeded to do the exchange then told me it was going to be $17.99.. wait.. I'm exchanging.. why do I need to pay. She said initially it was purchased with a coupon.. I said okay... So use the same coupon.. she then said she didn't have a coupon, so she made me look for the same coupon.. I found one on their website and luckily it worked and covered the $17.99.. I got out of there and was pretty upset. What was supposed to be an easy exchange turned into an argument and her accusing me of damaging their product... Not coming back to this store..

I found a coupon for here on retail me not for $10 off $60. That was enough for me to go and look for what they had. I did find suspender snow pants and boots for my 5 year old daughter. With the coupon the pants came to $24.99, not the best but not bad! Didn't see any boots for my 2 year old baby though unfortunately. I certainly do think they could have greeted me when I walked in, manager looked right past me. Also 2 cashiers were working and no one was paying attention as I waited in line. Had to just walk up myself. Not greeted at all he just began scanning. The coworkers were talking amongst themselves about the schedule or what they're going to do this weekend or something? Glad I found what I needed though so my girl won't freeze when we go to the snow.

We had an issue with a purchase that we made but never received. Kimberly took the time to thoroughly research the transaction, locate our purchase information, and ensure the situation was resolved. She was professional, patient, and truly dedicated to making things right. I would also like to thank the Customer Service cashier who helped us throughout the process. She was friendly, kind, and attentive, making us feel valued as customers from the moment we arrived. Together, they turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a positive one. We sincerely appreciate their excellent customer service, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond to help us. My husband and I went there on a regular old Wednesday. Who would have thought that we not only would have waited over 30 minutes still, but also NEVER been helped...yes, even on a Wed. There were two employees, but a couple of other employees came over to do something really quickly, but then quickly left without saying anything. It appeared that the two customers that the main two employees were helping were actually buying something, so OK, there's paperwork to fill out, etc. The horrendous part is...we're standing there for the entire 30+ minutes and NEITHER employee (nor the other two employees who cam over really quickly) ever said, "Thanks for waiting, someone will be with you as soon as we can", never one acknowledgement of our presence ever. It actually seemed like they were hoping we'd walk away, which we finally did. They all need to be fired for lack of customer serivce/people skills. I've been in my share of customer service jobs and I never, ever, ever would have never not acknowledged a customer who's obviously waiting. I finally kindly asked one of the other employees who was in/out quickly if someone was ever going to help us. He said something real quick as he's walking off, but of course he never came back. I wouldn't want to spend my hard-earned money there if you paid me!

The staff that helped me out was incredibly quick and nice. The main woman working at the store was great and we had a nice conversation. With all the price increases due to the pandemic, it's hard to find equipment and even harder to find it at a good price. New equipment is usually out of stock and expensive to ship and used equipment is price gouged like a bad Econ 101 lesson. Griffin still has decent stock and the option for local pickup is a game changer. Even if you don't want to make the hike to Ontario, the shipping rates are pretty reasonable. As a reference point, the flat bench would have cost $40 to ship to LA. I'm excited to see what else they'll start offering. Their current inventory is sweet and simple, similar to a burger chain that calls SoCal home as well. You might have heard of it. Anyway, it'll be fun to watch Griffin grow, but for now they have the essentials and a good amount of stuff for anyone to get started with. Don't hesitate to come to the showroom if you're on the fence. The stuff they have is very close to Rogue in quality at a fraction of the cost and on par if not better than REP (and assuredly better than Titan). Their pieces also look great and there's appreciable attention to detail.

I also had a $30 REI gift card that I wanted to apply toward the shoe purchase. When checking out, cashier Lloyd told me, "You don't need the card, I got it." I assumed he could see and apply the gift card through my account. However, he never applied the $30 gift card and instead processed the transaction so that I only received a refund of $0.08 from the jacket return. When I questioned this and told him I wanted the gift card applied to the shoes, he said the transaction had already been processed then he suggested that I use the gift card next week when REI has a sale. This solution is unacceptable. I live about 20 miles from the store and do not want to make another special trip because of a cashier's mistake. I would appreciate REI's assistance in resolving this issue and honoring the $30 gift card toward the purchase I made today. The employees on the floor were fine, 90% of them friendly.

He opened it on 12/25, but we didn't actually use it until mid-January. On his very first use, the coffee spilled all over him because the lid was cracked. I tried to avoid driving an hour back to the store, so I searched everywhere online for a replacement lid but couldn't find anything even remotely close. My last option was to return to the store to see if they would replace the defective lid. Unfortunately, I was told the return/exchange window had passed by just three days (01/15), and the employee refused to help. He even called the manager, who also said there was nothing they could do. When I asked where I could buy a replacement lid, the employee didn't know and mentioned that other customers have had the same issue with this type of lid -- which makes this even more concerning. To make matters worse, the only solution offered was for me to buy another insulated cup. That felt like a slap in the face considering the one I bought was defective. Because this was a Christmas gift, it sat in a gift bag for a while, which caused the defect to be discovered too late. For a store to refuse to help over three days, especially right after Christmas, is unreasonable and poor customer service. I will not be shopping at this location again.
