We chose Ainsley after a personal recommendation and because Tom (owner) and Jordan assured us we'd receive excellent service. We purchased their top-tier A/C system, upgraded media filter, and 12-year warranty for over $14,000. The installation, led by Shane, was completed in early June, but within 3 1/2 weeks the system stopped cooling. On June 29, we discovered the upgraded media filter we paid for had never been installed, our old rusted drain pan remained, and a wire blocked attic access. Technician Mike confirmed the 1-inch filter was improperly installed with large air gaps and later found the system appeared undercharged with refrigerant. On June 30, Technician Mike evacuated and recharged the refrigerant, but the house still wouldn't cool and we had to sleep in our basement. On July 1, Technician Conner suspected issues with both the line set and ductwork. He recommended line set replacement. We shut the system off because it made the house hotter and more humid, rented a commercial dehumidifier from Home Depot, and again slept in the basement. On July 2, installers led by Jacob replaced the line set using bright white line-hide on our brown house. After I stopped the work, Jordan obtained approval to have it professionally painted. Installation manager Ron also promised reimbursement for our dehumidifier, a refund for the uninstalled media filter, ductwork repairs, and follow-up scheduling. After the line set replacement, the system cooled, but over the holiday weekend thermostat error codes repeatedly shut it down. Keith (another manager) instructed us to reset the breakers until another technician could come. On July 7, Tech Matt reviewed the system and found error codes dating back to late June. He concluded the air handler was working much harder than it should because of poor airflow and acknowledged the problems would likely continue until the ductwork issues were corrected. By then, our electric bill had increased by over $200, despite replacing a 30+ year-old system with a high-efficiency unit. As of July 7, despite paying in full, we are still waiting on a $625 refund for the media filter that was never installed, approximately $250 reimbursement for the dehumidifier, and scheduling of the ductwork repairs and the painter. We have had to repeatedly call Ainsley ourselves, often waiting hours for updates. We understand that problems can happen with any installation. Our frustration is not that issues arose, but that nearly every visit uncovered another installation problem, that communication has largely fallen on us, and that many promised resolutions remain incomplete. Heat pump stopped on 2-21, called was told someone would be out on Tuesday, this was Sunday the 22, this was not 24/7 service. Called Monday and was told they would send a service man out. He came and stated the thermostat was bad and had to order a new one. Wednesday he came out and installed a new thermostat, stayed a few minutes and left. He no sooner left and it stopped working then came back on for a few minutes, then went from heat to air all by it self, then stopped working. I called and two other service men came out on Thursday morning. They stated it was a communication problem, would replace all wiring from thermostat to main unit and to outside unit, iF THAT DID NOT WORK WOULD NEED A NEW MOTHER BOARD. THANKFULLY REPLACING THE WIRING SO FAR RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. I have found all service men polite and considerate. My problem is the advertisement 24/7 service not a fact, a misrepresentation. I was without heat five nights and fout and a half days. The temperature was very cold. I live alone and I am soon to be 83. One main reason I went with this company was Jorden the sales person mentioned the service being 24/7 which is important for someone my age. So when I called on Sunday and given a date for service on a Tuesday, I found that to be a misrepresentation. read more

I had a new furnace installed a week ago. The salesman stated they had all great reviews which apparently is incorrect. I had to call to ask about having the lite turned off or dimmed. I had to call twice before they transferred me to a technician to walk me through how to change the lighting. I then have had a problem with the calibration of the thermostat. I had it set at 76 degrees it kicked on when the temperature rose o 78. Then it would not shut down when it reached 73 degrees and kept running. I shut it down myself. I called on Wednesday to inform of the problem. No call back or technician. I called again on Friday and suppose to send someone out on Monday. I had a Honeywell thermostat and never a problem. I told the young tech to leave the old thermostat but he took it with them. I hope I don't have any problems with the heating or anymore problems with the system. read more

Over the summer, Ainselycame out and serviced my a/c unit because it needed freon. I signed up for the monthly maintenance plan for them to come out twice a year and perform maintenance on both my furnace and a/c unit. Earlier this month, I was scheduled for my first maintenance check. They informed me that my furnace would be emitting carbon monoxide if turned on because of some internal findings, and that I would need a new furnace. They looked at my air conditioning unit and said it was low on freon again and that I would need a new unit as well. They then told me that my hot water tank needed to be replaced because "it was using too much energy." Their salesman came out later that night to give me pricing. He showed me the pricing of their "leading competitor" and then showed me their pricing. Now, keep in mind, I was a member so my quote was INCLUDING a 10% discount and $1,800 off. My quote was $16,899!!!! I told a few of my friends, and they were flabbergasted and told me to try a local heating and cooling company that everyone in our town uses. This company came out the next day and gave me a quote for $6,700!!! Over ten thousand dollars less!! And for BOTH furnace and a/c unit!! He told me there was nothing wrong with my hot water heater and that it was still in great condition and did not need to be replaced. I was extremely upset that they tried to charge me that much and then tried to tell me I needed a hot water heater on top of everything else! Tired of their commercials ! Must over charge so they can advertise. Technician seemed to know what he was doing. Had an oil furnace that developed a weak coil. Called Ainsley and the tech they sent got it working but it only lasted a month before the coil that pushes a spark to ignite the oil stopped. I had already priced numerous parts online. Honeywell coil could be next day delivery for seventy dollars (free shipping) . Same tech came out and found the problem and offered to replace with new for over seven hundred dollars with a year warranty. ( installation requires two screws and two wires ) when I did not jump at that he informed me a minute later that he had made an error and the price would be something over four hundred . I told him I would consider having him replace it just to get rid of him. This was a Friday, part was ordered after he left and arrived Saturday and was installed and oil furnace is working. My old boiler furnace died. Couldn't be fixed. This was in February. I called a couple of other companies who had no problem coming out and taking my money to take a look. Never saw or heard from them after they had my checks. Over $200. I had no heat and these other companies blew me off. Out of desperation I called Ainsley Heating and Cooling. Ainsley was prompt. Ainsley was professional. I had to have a whole new boiler furnace installed. I live in a century old farm house. Anything done here is a challenge - which is probably why the other companies never bothered to return my calls once they had my money. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I have had nothing but issue after issue since they installed a new furnace and AC unit. I've had them come out no less than 12 times in the past year because I've had continuous issues with the heat and air conditioning not staying at temperature. Every technician who's been out here has been nice and professional but no one has been able to fix our problems. I've called the office multiple times to complain and even asked for the owner to call me and I never received a call back. I'm highly disappointed and have spent so much money and our HVAC system still doesn't work right. read more

I believe in shopping local. My son bought a house in December. So he was upset when the days got hot and the air conditioning only blew warm air. Having never dealt with any of this before, he searched for a repair company online, and Ainsley from Cortland popped up, so he called them. The guy came out, spent about 5 minutes looking at the unit, and told him it was old and he needed a new one. And that it was also low on Freon. He never touched the unit, didn't open the cover, and didn't turn it on. My son was upset, as any new homeowner would be. He asked how much that would cost. And the repairman wouldn't say, said he could schedule someone else to come out an talk about it. Aaron said no. Then a friend gave him a name, and said try this guy. So he called him. The man came out, started the unit up, and said he could tell just by the sound that the capacitor was not working. He said that might be your only problem So Aaron told him to go ahead and fix it He did, and it started cooling. The temperature in the house started dropping. Aaron asked what about the Freon, and he said well Ainsley couldn't have known that because it has to be running to test it. He recommended waiting and just see how it ran. He charged $110. As I said before I believe in shopping local vendors and services Most small businesses are honest and operate with integrity. Ainsley installed our heat pump and new electric furnace in 2005. We live in Pennsylvania and had trouble getting anyone to come and do the yearly service on it. Lifetime guarantee on the compressor.... IF they service it yearly, which they wouldn't do. They wouldn't even come and deliver the odd sized furnace filters. My husband went on a Saturday one year during a snow storm only to find them closed when they said they were there, because they wouldn't deliver it. This summer our air stopped working and we called them to service it, we knew the compressor was out because we had a retired HVAC neighbor look at it. Tech came out, all he wanted to talk about was yearly service agreement, and told us the compressor was bad (we already knew that), also said we were low on Freon (seems to their go-to answer, reading other review). I am highly disappointed in this company. They did not take the time and consideration with my grandma that I believe should as a company.The day they stated they would be there to look at her air conditioner my father took the day off work and they never showed. They called at 9pm that night and said they were on their way and would use flashlights to look at the problem. That should have been my first warning. Not very efficient in my eyes. Then they said they would be back first thing the next morning and it was late afternoon before they arrived. That should have been my second warning. When they finally did arrive they took a few minutes stated what they think was wrong and instead of explaining what needed done they told her they would be back the next day with a new air conditioner, luckily my family member was there to put a stop to this or they would have scammed my grandmother out of a new expensive air conditioner. That was my third warning. I will never come back to this company and I will encourage anyone else who needs assistance in this field to avoid this company.
