I'm not a customer of this company, but apparently my next door neighbor is. Yesterday, while they were servicing the neighbor's AC unit the technician, without asking or telling me, just decided to plug their shop vac into one of my outlets in my carport area. WTF!! I guess he couldn't find a outlet near the neighbors AC, and just decided to use mine. Very unprofessional. This was despite the fact that my car was in the driveway and garbage cans were out, so the guy could have guessed I was home and he could have rang the doorbell and asked, but I guess he di think of that. There are tons of HVAC companies to choose (Anthony's, Air America, etc. etc.), so just be careful with these guys. But for reasons unknown to me why would an owner of a company allow its employees to argue with the customer's neighbor. I do not appreciate Air and Energy to use my front yard to access its customers generator. When asked to move their work truck I received an argument, instead of parking and working at the customers yard. What this tells me is that my yard is trash because I'm not their customer. read more

They answered phone calls (no machines!) and they were kind and patient. They did not try to "over sell services" that I didn't need but did make some valuable offers. My reason for contacting this particular company was because they are a combined plumbing and electrical company. My new water heater stopped working so I called them. I indicated it stopped working after the power company was working on hurricane restoration lines and the power kept going on and off due to what the power company was doing. Whatever it was seemed to have 'fried' my water heater. The water heater was still under warranty by the manufacturer and they would cover the cost of a diagnostic and repair. So in theory, this repair should have been relatively smooth. I explained the issue, made the appointment and thought I was in good hands. What happened next is that a plumber showed up 3 hours before the appointment time and puts that on the receipt 'homeowner not home'. Well, no kidding I wasn't home, the appointment wasn't for another 3 hours. So he circles back closer to the appointed time and he is not equipped in any way shape or form to actually fix anything. This was nothing more than a totally useless drive-by appearance for no other reason than to charge me $140 and get a receipt that wasn't submissable to the manufacturer because the plumber was more interested in CYA with putting 'homeowner not home' on the receipt and collecting the $140 than diagnosing the issue. Oh, no, they wanted another $140 to send out an electrician. So now I am looking at $280 of sunk costs and no closer to getting an operational water heater. I called 3 times to discuss the matter and they ended up sending an electrician with the promise of a new plug and wiring for a flat fee of $395. Well, no. Of course that was a lie also. Now I need an entirely new wire all the way to the electrical panel. So now we are in for $140 already charged, and over $900 estimate for the new wire to run the 20 feet to the panel box. I don't fault the electrician they sent, he ended up being thorough and he did not charge me because I guess he had heard I had already paid $140 for nothing. This company seems to engage in an endless bait and switch strategy of quoting you one thing and then racheting it up. I fully expected the problem to be solved on the first visit for $140. That didn't happen. Okay, it is more complicated, now it is $395. Okay, let's do it. Oh, oops, it's not going to be $395, it is now over $900. And still no end in sight. So lesson learned, don't necessarily assume a company with supposed multiple areas of expertise are going to be able to handle a problem that might fall into a gray area of 'is it a plumbing or an electrical issue?". No, they will find a way to overcharge you for both and still not fix it. I am so disgusted and feel ripped off by this company. They promote all the warm fuzzy small time family business BS on their website but they don't stand behind their brand and make empty promises. read more

!!!! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY !!! My home is around 9 years old ( 2015), was a summer home, so only used 4 months out of the year.. I purchased this home a year ago, so decided to get a routine hvac maintenance done in february 2024.. I called several companies to get prices when I called air & energy for prices, they quoted what the standard prices was showing on their website. I decided to to go with them. My hvac was been working find with no issues, just wanted a routine maintenance. Air & energy came out in February for the routine maintenance. I greeted one technician at the garage, he informed me what he was here for and we discussed what was going to be done. 10 minutes later he tells me " Oh, there is another tech here with me, he is at the side of the house at the outside unit". I'm surprised this person did not greet me first before touching on my home equipment, and what is this person doing for so long on the side of my home.. Eventually, he came around and we greeted, they proceeded to do the work. After completed, they said everything looks good, and I paid the cost.. couple days later I realize the temperature was not holding as usual. I checked the thermostat, notice thermostat was on and showing cool on, but the hvac was not coming on or responding. I thought it was the thermostat having an issue or going bad. I researched the issue for thermostat and potential thermostat replacements. After another week, did more research on the thermostat issue and put it on fan, but the fan would not come on. That lets me know the issue is not with the thermostat but with the hvac unit. Research, show that this issue comes about when someone is working out at the outside unit and caused a short. That's when I called air & energy, to report the issue. They said, we may have to charge you if the issue is not related to our work. I realize everything was working fine with this unit before they came with their routing maintenance, and they was the only one at the outside unit. They came back out and the guy found a fuse blown in the hvac, but he did not know why It blew. He replaced the fuse and left. Later that evening, the hvac shut down again as before. I called them the next day, they came back out with another tech. He went out to the out side unit and found a short in one of the wires ( cut in wire casing). He said that's the issue, he repaired the wire from being exposed. And presented me a cost of $161..... At this point, I feel I'm being schemed.. I told the tech I want to pay the manager because i want to share my experience of this service with him.. He called the manager and informed him that I wanted to pay him. The manager stated, we will call me the next day. The next day I did not get a call by evening so, I called Air & energy to speak with the manager and pay this amount.. However, the rep say he was not available. I told the lady i want to pay this service amount and also get a refund of the second part of the maintenance service, because I'm not satisfied with the maintenance service. There service is two maintenance service a year, but you pay for both at the first visit. The lady said, I setup this account as a VIP, you want to cancel the vip, that will cost you $50 to cancel vip.. I said, you must be mistaken, I did not sign up for any vip and have no knowledge of a vip service. She said, did they sell that house. I informed this person, I do not have a vip and I only requested for the standard maintenance service. The cost I paid for the standard maintenance service was $206.. She said I can refund $103, but for the latest out visit to fix the short she don't know how to do it. So, she said I should call back the next day to speak with the manager to do it.. He called two days later, I informed him, I know the electrical systems and home building due to having rental properties and flipping properties in the past.. and I its hard for me to believe this was not done by their tech since they was the only one at the unit. However, I will pay the $161 cost they are requesting. At the same time I'm not satisfied with the routine maintenance service and want a refund of the second part of the maintenance service. So, the manager state, " Well if you cancel the vip that's going to cost you $50, so your refund will be $50"... I informed this person, that I don't have a vip and just refund my money and take this payment. But he kept going on the rant of your home is 9 years old. After going through some of the house paper work receipts the last owner left behind. I find a receipt from Air & energy in 2018 for a vip membership. The vip documents they signed was for $174 dollars for the 2 maintenance service a year not $206 as I paid for the standard service. a reputable company would have competent management practices to check the copy of the vip to see who name it was in.. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY !!! read more

I've been having trouble with my AC. It works and then it won't. So I called Air and Energy. The first trip they found a plugged drain, fixed it and all was fine. The second trip they found a pressure issue with the freon, fixed it and all was fine. The third trip, when it was clear that something significant was wrong, Marshall the tech spent quite a bit of effort examining and diagnosing. What he found was a transformer that had exploded on itself and wasn't working. What I want to emphasize is that Air and Energy really worked to solve this problem. In each case a technician was out the day I called, usually within just 2-3 hours. In every case they were professional, focused on the job, and easy to have in the house. I really trust this company to help me when needed. All three technicians were people I would have in the house again, but I want to express special kudos to Marshall for finding the offending transformer. I'm cool in my house now and very much hoping that is the norm for the foreseeable future. read more

DO NOT call these people for a plumbing repair. I'm a VIP member and called and asked for garbage disposal replacement. I also asked if I should go buy my own disposal and she told me no. When they showed up 4 days later they wanted $395 to replace my current one. They said she was supposed to have advised me of the price when I booked the appointment. So l would owe for the trip charge even if I turned them away I had mine replaced this summer in Milwaukee for $125 for the plumber and $110 at Lowe's. My neighbor here had his replaced for $175 over the summer... that was the plumber and they provided the disposal. I called and complained and they told me that Bonnie would call me back. It's been two weeks and I've never heard from anyone. I will not be calling them again read more

A and E installed our unit and the first time we set to heat months later - nothing! The unit had been serviced under a maintenance contract two weeks prior with apparently no issues. This call resulted in a problem with the thermostat wire tabs being broken (installed by their tech) and being 4 lbs. low in refrigerant which they added at a great cost. Tech said there must be a leak. Sent another tech out with equipment to test for a leak in the coils but found no leak. He said there was now too much refrigerant and took 1 lb. out. They put in a new thermostat in at our cost. They would not reimburse us for any of the refrigerant that mysteriously disappeared after the first maintenance visit or the 1 lb. removed. We then hired Arctic Air to review our system and they found no leak but found the unit now 1 lb. low in refrigerant! What??? They added the 1lb. back again. We have now paid for 5 lbs. of refrigerant to a unit that apparently had no leaks. The Arctic Air tech was very competent and explained everything in detail about our unit. They found no leak in the system. We hired Arctic Air and they have been nothing less than outstanding since the debacle with this company. Our unit has now been running well for over a year and a half now. I suggest you find a company like Arctic Air that stands by their work and takes responsibility for mistakes they may have made (I still wonder where the 4 lbs. of refrigerant went in a span of two weeks right after a scheduled maintenance (which apparently showed a proper level)??? I gave this company every chance to do the right thing with three visits to their office to no avail. I am a very unhappy customer and out a lot of money that apparently was all their fault. read more

I would caution any customer in using this company as a plumbing source. Please unsure that before you call for ANY service that the work needed to be done isn't anything minor or else you will be left with at least $130 fee. In my case, I was charged this for replacing a rubber grommet that took 5 min to replace. The company did not seek to re-adjust this in spite of little work needed. I can't speak to any major work done by this company as they didn't stay here long enough to evaluate. I spoke to the owner, nothing was resolved so if you can fix any minor plumbing issues, my recommendation is that you fix it yourself or find another company that will not lock you into a minimum fee for any minor repair. read more

Called them on Sat. 8/12/23 about my A/C coils freezing up. 1st visit they stated it was the wires crossed on the blower motor. They "fixed" it. Cold air will be normal in the morning. Cost $209.00 in less than 40 min. Next morning 95 degrees in my house! Called them back 4 times & each time a different technician shows up with a new "problem" that costs more money! 2nd time it was the TXV value that was bad "it wasn't" cost was $905.00 plus service cost of $225.00. The part had to be ordered. By Thursday 8/17/23 I had spent $1,339.00. Ridiculous to think this was the same company who installed the system years ago! Then they tell me it was the motor but we don't work on motors. Really? That's what the 1st technician worked on and switched wires around. So I had to either buy a new motor for $1,100.00 or a used one single speed off their truck for $250.00. I called their supervisor multiple times because he even stated they couldn't fix it after the 1st day? So I bought the used motor and it was back to normal. I spent $1,589.00 with $1,339.00 wasn't required. The sole purpose was to gouge money from customers because of the record summer we experienced in FL. I sent the owners an email and no answers or calls. This is how they do business so I hope this feedback helps the next customer. Do you believe 4 technicians came to my house and none was able to fix my issue except the last one. They tried to convince me I needed a new system for $8,000-$13,000 range. My unit isn't that old but this is how they run their business. I'm flabbergasted at the sheer work ethic and personal responsibility this establishment operates with. Outstanding customer service given by Dustin and team. This was our first experience with Air & Engery. We had 2 a/c units replaced at one of our rentals; our experience from beginning to end was exceptional. We will call them again for any future a/c replacements. We highly recommend Dustin and The Air & Ener "Simply better". Once again we had Air & Engery install another a/c unit at a different property. From the initial service call to sales to scheduling to installation--simply better! However, In the future I would suggest a contact after the job. Printed materials given upon installation did not mention filter size--installation team didn't know--they custom cut one as they didn't have regular filter--they would have "office" to call me. In Oct 2016 I had our first Service/Main with Air&Energy. I have heard from others they are great, but the Service Guy never said anything besides you will need a new air conditioner down the road. I just had our second service for the year and something in Air Conditioner needs to be cleaned. So I wonder why the first guy never said anything. I had the best professional service from Air & Energy from start to finish. I closed on my villa and needed to have a new hot water heater installed, surge protector, some electrical breakers checked and a get a quote on moving my air condition unit. I had the pleasure of speaking with Serena, who was excellent explaining the products and the install services. Serena did an awesome job setting up and coordinating the three appointments. The service time was flawless and the way she strategically planned the appointments, all was completed in very short amount of time. This was so nice as I hadn't moved in to my new place. I highly recommend the company as each of the gentleman that came out Joey, Corbin, Doug and Miguel were professional and took the time to explain everything I needed to know. I contracted with Air & Energy last year to install a Kohler Generator and was so pleased with the Company and the Techs that I had them install a new Trane AC on March 27, 2019. The Techs Dave and Paul arrived on time (8 AM) and did a wonderful job. They were totally professional and you could tell that they really knew what they were doing. We did ask questions, probably too many, but the guys were super friendly and answered all of them, cheerfully! In the early afternoon, they were joined by Sean and Miguel who did the ductwork in the attic. They were a great combo and a pleasure to deal with. In Spring 2018 Air and Energy installed a new Trane AC unit for my house. The cost was around $10,000 including the warrantee. Three years and three weeks later the air handler in my garage started leaking. We paid $184 per year for maintenance, paid on a year to year basis. The technician came out and told me that the pan under the coils was cracked. The unit was three weeks out of warrantee. His visit was $171. The repair would cost $800 because to replace the pan they would have to remove and then reinstall the coils. The technicians came, removed the coils and the pan, replaced the coils land installed a new pan, and replaced the insulation which was soaked. I could see right away that the pan wasn't cracked. They wanted to take it away, but I pointed out that the warrantee on it had expired, and that I had to pay for the replacement. I kept the original pan. While they were there, they replaced the outside drain line where it came through the wall. To me, I believe that was an indication the perhaps there was something wrong with the drain, I paid them the $800. After they left, I filled the pan with water to see if it leaked, which it didn't. I made a video. I called up and complained. The manager argued, but after I mentioned reviews, he agreed to return $500 of the $800. He said that they would have had to dry the unit regardless. They returned $400. But after I called up and complained again they returned the additional $100. So the ersatz repair cost me a total of $471 ($171 + $300). One week later the unit started to drip again. I attached my Shopvac to the outside drain and blew out a clog of gunk. I then dried the unit by letting the fan run for a day without cooling. I took photos of the gunk I asked Air and Energy why they didn't check the drain when they did the semiannual inspection. I was told that isn't included in the maintenance service. I wondered why such a common problem wouldn't be addressed. I had paid in advance for the second semiannual inspection, so I didn't terminate the service. About a month ago, on a Friday, the service technician made his inspection and declared that the system was fine. On the following Monday the system shut itself down. I called a different AC company. The technician came out and poured some drain cleaner down the drain tube, and the unit was working fine again. I asked him if they clean the drain line during their inspections, and he said of course they did. Air and Energy also provides a plumbing service. I have an outside sink which had a clogged drain. They sent out two people to clear the clog. They were unable to do it because, as they said, the curves in the line were too acute. They didn't have their video snake (or whatever they call it) with them, so they couldn't say for sure what the problem was. They said they could knock a hole in the wall or under the foundation to fix it, but that probably wouldn't be worth it. They charged me $117. I said to send someone else out to try to clear the drain. Two days later the new plumber came out with a camera. He couldn't fix the problem. The charge was $247. Air and Energy said they would blow out the drain system for an additional $1300. I declined. I solved the problem with a $10 bottle of sulfuric acid, readily available in the plumbing sections of various stores. my wife and i purchased a home in bradenton on march 23rd. we decided to do a major overhaul of our air conditioning system. we replaced all duct work along with the installation of a seer 18 trane air conditioner. the project took three full days with up to 6 technicians working in an attic during 95 degree outside temperature. every one of these technicians deserve an immense amount of appreciation for the work ethic they demostrated during the difficult time they were servicing our home. michael, the lead technician was extremely professional, knowledgeable and willing to clearly communicate answers to the many questions we had. the leadership he exhibited was greatly appreciated. charlene and i are very happy with our new trane unit and wish to thank air and energy for providing us with a quality unit at a reasonable price. if we have future air conditioning, plumbing or electrical needs we will always turn to air and energy for their advice and professionalism. read more

Received a service for the air conditioning unit. Tech poked several holes in the ductwork in the garage for a temperature reading. He cleaned three sides of coils on the outside unit. He checked the coolant level and released the extra refrigerant from the unit, leaving a greasy look on the grass beside the unit. The technician seemed concerned about the seven year old unit and suggested a brand new unit. Even had a salesperson call to schedule the new unit. After he left, we decided to use a can of coil cleaner and clean the built up dryer lint from the back side of the unit and and patch the five holes on the ductwork read more

Air & Energy came in to replace my HVAC unit to include an APCO-X unit. I began smelling a stale odor in my house and I called them. I asked the service person if my UV light possibly went out and he informed me that there was not even a unit installed (as it should have been per the discussion with Keith at the time of the bid). The service man sprayed down the coils to from what I understand had bacteria/mold growth. He went on to indicate there were issues with the coils on my particular unit and would be back to spray again, for which he has not returned. He also noted that the coils may need replaced. Keith called me 13 days later and indicated that in fact they did not include the UV light as we had discussed as I wanted the higher end unit because of the lifetime warranty (it was only $170 more than the mid unit that had a 10 year warranty), and his response was also what's in the past is in the past. The thought process here is he lied to me to get the bid to come in lower than the other 4 estimates I got just so they could get the job. They are doing nothing to rectify their error and want to charge me for their error. Naturally at this point my review does not show in their FB page. They only allow positive reviews. This should tell you all you need to know. Run from this shady place. read more

They also helped us quickly when our house was struck by lightning, and worked with us to get everything back in order in a very quick timeline! I am only giving THEM a one star because it is needed to write the review. We were totally conned by the sales person, Dustin AND UTIMATELY AIR AND ENERGY. While our existing system was working, we knew it was old and were not getting the house to appropriate temperatures during the day. Dustin arrived to review the existing system. In the review, he mentioned that our duct work might need to be replaced as well because it could be causing some of our issues. I told him we did not have the budget for that as well and if that was the case, we would pass on installing the unit for now. Dustin inspected the duct work and his comment was "It is in surprisingly good shape" and the only thing that needs replacement for the system to operate properly was one section of the ducts. He assured me that our problem would be solved if we installed the new system and the one small duct area. Well, approx. $7500 later, there is no improvement... in fact it is much worse. Mid-day temperatures of 76 to 78 degrees and indoor humidity at 80%. I am running fans continuously and we cannot cook in the house because of the heat. As a business owner too, I expected the company to correct the situation and work in good faith towards a reasonable solution. If possible I would have gladly had them re-install my old system, but once it is out... there is no re-installation. Air and Energy management insisted after inspecting (previously inspected by Dustin) that the issue is in fact the duct work. Their conclusion is that the existing duct work is in terrible (not "surprisingly good") shape and the only way to have the system operate as intended is to replace all the duct work for which they will charge us almost another $4,000. This will be necessary for the system to operate appropriately. So, I am out $7500, my previous system (which was more efficient that the new one installed) is gone, and now they want $4000. I can only conclude that I didn't need a new system, but new duct work. Unfortunately Dustin had this system which had been purchased in a bulk deal for another project that he still needed to unload... and I guess in his eyes... we were the "perfect candidates" to meet those immediate objectives. Air & Energy replaced/installed new Trane AC system in 1800sq ft condo in January Bradenton Fl. I waited to review until final City inspection and sign off. Did research and had visits/estimates from various other companies in the area and chose A&E They fell within price rage of others if not a little better. From the sales person Dustin to the installation team I was very impressed.... no hard sell and the installers cut no corners and were efficient, neat,very professional and 2 nice guy's. A&E set up City Code Inspection for early March. To my surprise they had a Tech here to inspection the system and make any minor adjustments to system and were present during the City Code Inspection. As I expected all went well. So far so good.
