Simple and standard water line hookup.
    Michael V.

Unfortunately, my experience was less than ideal. My refrigerator went out at our vacation rental in Bradenton. I called elite heating and Air and explained that I had just purchased a brand new refrigerator from Lowe's and that they came to install it. Unfortunately, the Lowe's installers refused to disconnect the water line from the old refrigerator and so they couldn't install the new refrigerator. I called elite and told them the situation that I needed someone to come and finish the install. They said their plumbers would have no problem disconnecting the water line from the old refrigerator and hooking up the new one. But then after arrival, the service tech said that he is unable to move the refrigerator even just a couple feet and put in the new refrigerator and hook it up. So... You have Lowe's that won't install it because they can't touch the water line and then you have elite who can't move the refrigerator a couple feet and hook it up... So what are you supposed to do? The experience was super frustrating and the guests at our vacation rental had to move the refrigerator for Elite to hook it up. There were zero parts involved. Everything was already there. The tech hooked it up in a matter of seconds and happily charged $289 for this five star service. I'm very disappointed that the person on phone could not tell me that this would have been an issue even though I clearly explained what I was needing. It wasn't until the technician showed up to tell me that he was not liable or able to move the refrigerator and hook up the new one... Even though that's why I called. Should've just called a handyman for way cheaper and faster and more professional service. Disappointing technicalities and very poor value. $289 to connect two existing threaded fittings together.

In almost 30 years living here, these local guys are about as good as it gets. If you want experts at a fair price, give them a call.

The service manager (Lee) is experienced and knowledgable and the technician that last serviced my A/C was as well.

I had a very disappointing experience with Scottie's Cooling & Air…read more On 04/20, I contacted them because my AC had stopped working. The receptionist took my address and phone number, and a technician called shortly afterward to say he was on his way. After diagnosing the issue, I was told the capacitor needed to be replaced, and I approved the repair. When the work was completed, I attempted to pay, but the technician told me someone from the office would contact me to collect payment. No one ever called, and I never received an invoice until last week, when I suddenly received a past-due notice. Then yesterday, my AC stopped working again. I called Scottie's Cooling & Air hoping they would come back out. The on-call technician informed me that he could not service my unit because there was an outstanding balance on the account. I explained that I was willing to pay the balance immediately, along with any charges for the new service call, because I urgently needed my AC repaired. He said he needed to speak with his boss and would call me back. He never did. So I contacted Cool Today, who I highly recommend. Their technician inspected my unit and informed me that there was no capacitor installed at all. I explained that Scottie's had supposedly replaced it during the previous service call. He stated that the unit had been running without a capacitor and that continued operation could have caused significant damage to the entire AC system. Today, Scott, the owner, called me and explained that because they had allegedly tried to contact me multiple times regarding the unpaid balance, they had removed the capacitor and written off the balance. The problem is that the phone number they were using belonged to my late husband. I had previously informed them of the correct contact number, so it is not my fault that they continued calling the wrong number. They also claimed they mailed an invoice last week, which I did receive, but it had only been about a week before they decided to remove the part. Additionally, they stated that a technician had come to my home to notify me about the balance. I work during the day, no one was home, and no note was left on the door. What concerns me most is that a technician apparently entered my property and removed equipment from my AC unit without my knowledge, permission, or consent. At no point was I notified that they intended to return and remove the capacitor, and I was never given an opportunity to resolve the balance before they took that action. Finding out from another company that a component had been removed from my system was shocking and extremely upsetting. The lack of communication, failure to use the correct contact information, entering my property to remove equipment without my authorization, and the potential risk of damage to my AC system have left me extremely dissatisfied. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Scottie's Cooling & Air.
