I would like to rate this business and it's new name of Air Duct King LLC with less than 1 star. He is ripping people off for duct cleaning and up selling to remove mold that may or not exist. He is a total scam and no one should be hiring him. He had me make the check out to his wife so that it did not go thru the company name or his name. I did not fall for his up sale to mold removal but it still cost me $658.76 when he quoted $449.99 thru Thumbtack. I have filed a legal complaint with The Ohio Attorney General's office requesting I receive a refund and that he be put out of business. read more

Just don't. I left air duct cleaning up to my husband and he hired Air Duct Busters. This company sent 2 guys in a personal car armed with a mesley shop vac to clean the ducts and vents of a 2500 square foot home. Then they charged my husband double the price of their ValPac coupon. When I called the company to complain the owner answered, defended their work and condoned the use of their vacuum because it had a HEPA filter and 60 feet of hose. ON A SHOP VAC! He also tried to tell me that we still owe him money because my husband didn't have enough cash on him to pay the full bill and that the house is bigger than he thought. Seriously?!? He claimed that they filled half a canister up (of a SHOP VAC!) and worked hard for 2 hours. I fill half a canister up just vacuuming once a week. WTF?!?! Who operates like this?!? I wish I could remember the name of the last company I used to clean ducts because they showed up in a large truck with a HUGE machine and gigantic hoses that could probably suck up small children. They even put little cameras into the ducts before and after so we could see the difference. Now I get to find a reputable company and start this whole process over. Live and learn for sure. I scheduled weeks in advance and was told I would have a 12PM-2PM window on a Saturday afternoon. So, I called the day of my scheduled service just to confirm the window and nobody picked up. So I called back several times, and finally someone answered and they confirmed they would arrive between 12PM-2PM. They were a NO SHOW. I bought a LivingSocial voucher for Air Duct Busters because I had been wanting to get the air ducts cleaned in my old apartment. I had an all around great experience with the entire process. The woman who I spoke with to get scheduled (I think was Brandi per their Yelp page) was extremely friendly and helpful. I was able to book a Saturday appointment which worked the best with my schedule. The Air Duct Busters called me the day before my appt to confirm their arrival time frame. On the day of the appt they arrived at around 12:45pm and I had a 12-2pm arrival time frame. I believe the workers' names were Tony and Jeremy, who introduced themselves at my doorstep. I was really impressed with how personable they both were, and they even made friendly conversation which made the experience a lot more comfortable. Tony explained to me everything that they were doing, pointed out some things in my basement, and even told me about how old he thought my heating system was (I rent). They were in and out in less than forty minutes. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the Air Duct Busters and would recommend them to anyone who asked! read more

I'm not one for bad reviews but we had terrible customer service with this company. My wife made an appointment for a tech to come on a Saturday between 3:00-5:00. At 4:45 we received a call stating the tech would not be able to make it. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled for a Saturday 3 weeks later between 10:00-12:00. By 11:15 no tech had arrived so my wife called just to confirm they were coming and was told they would call her back after talking to the tech. No call back and nobody showed up by 12:00. read more

This company is (if you can call it a company) is a joke. Bought a $80 package from Groupon and the guy said it's going to cost another $300 to do the returns and furnace. Otherwise he said it wouldn't be worth it to clean the vent since it'll get dirty again quickly. When I read the description on the groupon to him and showed that those items are covered and that I even verified over the phone that no other service is required besides the groupon, he said he knows what's written in the Groupon since he's the one who wrote it. These guys are scam artists in disguise as vent cleaners. I also noticed that they damaged one of the vent and the ductwork by stomping on the vent when it didn't go in instead of gently nudging it in and now I need to get professional to repair the ductwork and get a new vent cover because both are damaged. I found out recently, work they performed goes for around $120 to $150 max. And good luck trying to get your money back because you'll have better luck trying to win a lottery. We purchased a lifetime warranty for UV bulb replacement (paid $725). We continually have problems getting the UV bulb replacement. My fiancé bought one of their Groupon vouchers and scheduled for them to come out 2 weeks in advance. He told them he had a Groupon, they said that's fine, they would be able to clean what the Groupon covered but it was an intro and if we wanted more done, it would end up costing more. We figured that's fine and we would see how they did on the amount the Groupon covered and if they did well, hire them for the rest. They never showed or called etc. A couple wells later I called to reschedule. The owner of the company showed up with a guy. He made himself comfortable in my home, picking up an event schedule off my table and telling the guy he was with about what was coming up, invited the guy he was with to take a run on my treadmill, walked around the house without me, called my dog an idiot and asked if my dogs were friendly (they were outside), then when I was telling him what my fiancé said about the Groupon, he said that he's not calling my fiancé a liar but either him or his wife answer the phone and would never say they would clean the amount the Groupon covered - aka he called my fiancé a liar. They wouldn't even clean without being paid somewhere in the area of $525. He said the Groupon is a discount of ~$100 and that's it. When I told him my fiancé had taken off work for their no-show, he gave us a discount of $25 and said that's the best he could do. Do you not use this company! I recently bought a Groupon and mistakenly booked this company who arrived on time. After finding out the Groupon was not theirs they tried to sell me on their services and told me the owner of the Groupon that I had was no longer in business and had tried to take their name and did bad work. Since the company was already here I decided to go ahead and pay them later to find out the company that I had originally bought the Groupon for was in business still and had an excellent rating. Hired John and the Air Duct Busters [ADB] to clean out the ducts at a rental. Charged me $400 extra for the ducts being extra dirty and tried to high pressure scare me and my tenant into spending an extra $1400 to treat my vents for "black mold" that he was able to diagnose without a test...he said that the mold was so bad that it was eating through the galvanized vents! He sent a few pictures to try to scare me....FYI...mold lives on cellulose products...not metal. What John didn't know was I have an asbestos and mold abatement contractor who I immediately sent the photos...he took one look and said it was old calcium deposits from moisture [he later confirmed in person]. When I told ADB I was getting a second opinion he got mad at me on the phone and demanded payment for his services. My tenant told me that he said "You need a new landlord, this guy doesn't care about you." on his way out the door. To make matters worse, my tenant said the guy helping John had a terribly dirty mouth and was complaining the entire time about how he hates his job... Sound like the type of people you want doing work in your house? Moral of this story? It's ok to check "The Saver" Magazine for a coupon...but you better check the online reviews prior to calling them! Shame on me. read more

One guy started working and the other guy starts upselling. He told me I had black mold on the humidifier filter, which is a total lie. He grabbed it with his hand and threw it in the trash. Then he says to clean the furnace which we just had cleaned 6 months ago and the humidifier it would be an additional $339. When I said no... I purchased a Groupon for my air ducts and dryer vent to be cleaned. John and his associate were easy to schedule, arrived on time and were very personable. After their initial valuation, I decided to go with the "whole shebang" and have them clean and santize the entire system, ducts, cold air returns, the trunks in the basement, the furnace. I cannot believe how much lighter the air feels in my house. (And I didn't really think it was bad to begin with). John arrived on time with his partner and got to work right way. When finished, he came to me and said there is mold in the ducts, the furnace is very dirty and the tape on the ducts contained asbestos. He wanted to clean the furnace, treat for mold and and apply some special kind of tape .....all this after I told him I only wanted the ducts cleaned for the $299 price he quoted over the phone. I explained that I am preparing to sell this house and don't want to spend more than necessary. So I paid him and they left after they packed up their equipment. I went downstairs to change the furnace filter since they had left the old one lying on the floor. That's when I discovered a puddle of water around the furnace! Upon further inspection, I could see where the water was rapidly dripping out of the top half of the furnace! The A/C was running as usual, but I didn't have this problem before they were here. I really think they did something to cause this problem. Everything was working fine until they cleaned the ducts! My regular HVAC guy will be inspecting this for me tomorrow. When the two guys finally did show up weeks later, they tried to scam her into $500 of extra charges, and told her these charges had been discussed with her already, which was a lie. I would prefer to give zero stars as this is what the company deserves. Their Groupon is a complete scam. I purchased the Deep Cleaning Package which was very detailed in what was included and prices. Also made sure the 'need to know' section was read closely and that I met all stipulations posted by this ridiculous 'business'. There's never anyone to answer the phones so you have to leave a voicemail on one of the random 5 numbers that all go to the same answering service and hope for a call back... in hindsight.. I wish they never had. Fast forward, I made the appointment and even got the reminder call the evening before my scheduled appt. I had to take off of work and sat around for nobody to ever show up! I called several times, left a voicemail each time. I skipped bible study because I thought maybe they were running very very very late and I could still accommodate. Next few days, no return call. I even emailed the company.. finally get a call back and the lady was kind... really tried to play the.. "it appears you cancelled your appointment and I wanted to reach out to see when you're available to reschedule"... ummm no. I left 4 voicemails and an email and I was very clear that I was no showed.. not that I cancelled an appointment. They lady pushed me to try and reschedule .. so I do for the following week.. again.. take work off to make sure I can be home for this appointment... Tony and John show up.. and immediately tell me they won't do anything unless I agree to a whole home cleaning and that maybe I should ask more questions when I call their business for the service. Tech showed up, didn't call ahead as I requested, he showed up in a van with a big sign of it [ dale's cleaning company?], I asked who he was with as I have an appointment with duct cleaning company, he said he came in behalf of airduct busters and their van is in a shop so they had to use a van named [ dale's cleaning company]. He seemed upset that I asked, but move forward and I asked him if he can cover his shoes as he was entering the house, my airducts are in my recently waterproofed unfinished basement and covered with dust so didn't want him walking all around with dust, and I normally ask contractors to either take their shows off or cover it, professional contractors do it without asking and come prepared. Air duct buster tech got upset that I asked him if it was possible for him to cover his shoe, he said [ you know what? I'm not doing this and find someone else, you can get your groupon back] and left!!!. I was really shocked, I said: Sir, I'm sorry if you were offended but I never asked a contractor and he acted this way.. He just walked away and didn't say a word, drove and left. I been trying to call the company to get a refund and no one picks up my calls. I'm assuming this is the owner and only tech? I advise to not waste your time, find a better honest and '' able to reason with'' contractor. I finally was able to get connected with the company, I called couple times this morning, the person that answered the phone named Richie, said he was the owner, I explained to him that his tech showed up and got very upset when I asked him to cover his shoe, owner said '' sorry, will schedule you with someone else'', after scheduling a new date, I asked if he was going to take some measurements or talk to the tech that came to my house, he replied '' yeah I will punish him, I will spank him in his rear bottom, how about that?
